Never had any problems with their service. Reimbursement is quick and smooth

Been a customer since 2022 but only really used them this year (2025). I had to replace a broken crown and the process from uploading the invoice to receive payment has taken roughly one week (altough the AI chat said it would take three to four weeks).

Easy to use and highly efficient

I‘m a Ottonova customer since 2020. The company is setting new standards in customer service with its super friendly, competent and fast interaction via chat and phone. I love that they remind me on my personalized preventive medical check up’s and even book them for me if I want! The app is super easy to use, super fast refunding and like a health companion- always something valuable to read about how to improve your health. In their healthX Programm you not only can shape future offerings of the company but they onboarding continually new partners with apps which add daily health value you can use with bigger discounts and even get an additional bonus from Ottonova. I’m very satisfied with my decision and looking forward for new services and offerings. The older private insurance companies really can learn something from this innovative and super customer oriented young team.

Saved my life

Very fast and efficient execution. Very controversial to how government entities operate in Germany..

Overall a good experience. However, I'd like to enphasize their poor to no support when it comes to getting the Amazon voucher they claim to give you one month after your contract is valid. When I asked for this, they told me that unless I have the code I joined Ottonova with, the Amazon voucher cannot be given. Poor support also as they don't follow up on this.

Easy to handle with German health system
Thanks to Ottonova, I never feel unsafe here in Germany. Whenever I have a question, I always get the answer quickly and clearly. I have never had to struggle to explain my situation in German because everyone in ottonova knows English and everyone of them are really helpful. I love the way that I can easily submit my documents and get my refunds quickly. Therefore, I have never feel short (moneywise) to pay my invoices.

Very convenient, so fast

When I joined Ottonova, I really thought they would support me if I needed help. But when I sent a claim for new treatment, with a new plan and a clear start date, they said no — because they think it’s part of some old treatment. Seriously? That’s like saying if you ate soup once, now every meal is soup.
I also had to wait almost three months just to get this answer. Three months with no update, and in the end, they just sent a rejection with confusing reasons that ignore the simple truth: the treatment started after I got the insurance.

Ottonova is quick to take your money, but when it’s time to help you — they will find every excuse not to. If you want an insurance company that’s fair and actually does what it promises, this isn’t the one.

Best private insurance in Germany! They never send you letters, only contacts via the portal/app (the way I like). The concierge service answers quickly to requests. Refunds are also quick and transparent. Everything in English!
