Disappointing Experience
I sought legal assistance from OTB Legal for my Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) application, with my case being managed by a solicitor working there. My initial contact was in December, well ahead of my intended filing date in March. However, the lawyer advised delaying the application to April to strengthen it. My circumstances changed, necessitating an urgent application in February due to extensive travel plans in April. Despite having paid the full fees by this point, I noticed a marked change in lawyer's demeanor once I expressed the urgency of my situation.
He informed me that he was preoccupied with other clients and delegated my case to a junior lawyer, who unfortunately made significant errors in filling out my form. These mistakes stemmed from not thoroughly reviewing the initial data I provided, leading to incorrect assumptions. When tasked with reviewing the form myself, I was astounded by the number of inaccuracies.
Upon addressing these issues, his response was dismissive. He reiterated his earlier advice to file in April, questioning the urgency of my application without consideration for my travel plans. His lack of empathy and technical advice during this critical time was disheartening. Feeling cornered and recognizing the futility in recovering my fees or expecting competent assistance, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Despite his pessimistic forecast, I successfully submitted my application and received a positive outcome.
My experience with OTB Legal was far from satisfactory. It was characterized by poor communication, a lack of professionalism, and technical incompetence. This ordeal has convinced me that seeking assistance elsewhere would be more beneficial for those in similar situations. I strongly advise against enlisting the services at OTB Legal.
The way OTB Legal handled my case left a lasting negative impression, underscoring a significant disregard for client well-being and professional responsibility.
Update: Owner contacted me and asked me to remove the review. I told them I will not, and asked them did they even check my complaint carefully? They said mistakes happen, and it is my fault I contacted them way too early in the process. And it is the responsibility of the client to double check everything and not rely on lawyers. Then I asked for a refund if that's the case, which she clearly denied. I told her I had to fill my entire form on my own, and arrange everything myself, so they should not shamelessly take credit for the positive decision on my ILR.
