In my experience

In my experience, this site used assets without permission and refused to take them down after being notified. I tried to resolve the issue directly before leaving this review, but the material remained up and the response was not acceptable. A business that ignores a legitimate takedown request and does not address concerns transparently is not one I can recommend. Based on how this was handled, I would advise others to be cautious.

DO NOT ENGAGE/USE

Doesn't give us the chance or opportunity to not have our clan listed here, uses 'public information' to create said listing. No regards or respect for our wishes to NOT be listed on here whatsoever. Very poor attitude from creator and no sense of human decency, only wants what he wants and will not remove our clan from this list, even though we DO NOT want to be in any part of this website as we have expressed very thoroughly. Extremely disrespectful, childish attitude and behavior in his discord server towards those who don't want their clans listed, has started spam banning people who don't agree with him and there is now no more option to opt out.

Illegal infringement

The owner of this website will stop at no lengths to take your information whether you agree to it or not and plaster it on his website. He needs to be stopped. Very unethical and in most cases also illegal. Copywrite Infringement.

Lacking Ethics

Lacking Ethics, makes decisions purely for the sites gains at the detriment of clan communities.

Refuses to hear anyone out if it does not benefit or fit his platform goals/views and has resorted to actively scraping clans image assets from other open sites even when they request to not be included.

Alex was muted on Discord because he…

Alex was muted on Discord because he mass spammed every clan owner to the point it seemed like a bot advertising his website. Many of us joined because it did seem like a genuinely good website for osrs clans to advertise and recruit new members via a different method. The first issue was allowing a “mega clan” to join and use their 5000 members so votes would go their way and they get the top advertising spot. Next Alex introduced paying sums of money to temporarily boost your clan to the top of the listings. Lastly, after ignoring many of the clan owners feedback you decided to change the entire concept of your website: rather than clan staff posting their clans manually you mass imported over 300 clans to your website without their knowledge that your website exists and their info is being advertised.

Also Alex on the official osrs clan finder discord he along with members of the mega clan cult they shut down feedback from other clan owners by first cursing them out and posting memes to degrade them. He then started banning the clan owners who offered any negative feedback.

Website owner is IGNORANT to all forms of criticism

Uses WoM data to list clans without our knowing and permission. Refuses to respect and cooperate clan leaders their request to be fully removed from this website listing. His only counter-argument is that the data he pulls is is publicly available. Don't like it? Don't use the internet! Completely ignores our ethics and privacy to use us as his product.

Money and power grab with no consent or option to opt out.

This started out as, i think, a good idea but has went downhill extremely fast due to the owner's character and the true intent behind it all. The website started as an opt in website (which he said himself); which is how it should always and STILL be but has ever since become a power and money grab, let me explain. A voting system and payment system have been in place on the website. You pay and vote to be listed in the top position (which most leaders voted against, vote that was rigged by the 4000 + mega clan listed on the website who bribed their clan mates with bonds/gp to vote for them and vote in favor). Alex was well aware and has done absolutely nothing to stop it or make the vote fair, giving clan members already in a clan (the mage one) a voice in what should happen. This gives absolutely no chance to smaller scales or newer clans to get noticed which is *supposed* to be the whole point of this website. A few days ago, the owner; Alex, talked about a hypothetical data grab from all over internet to list every single clan who exist on his website because, quote: ''This is going to be the number 1 clan website in the next 3 months'' (you see again the need for power for whatever reason). You guessed it, it was never hypothetical, he had already planned doing it despite, once again, many votes against it. It grabs data/info from Wise Old Man, Discord, TempleOSRS, Facebook, Reddit and more (again, all of this was admitted by him). The problem here is, people decide, on their own will and consent to post/use or not these websites. Many leaders gave no consent and have expressed publicly on his discord server and privately in a ticket (like we were told to do if we wanted no association) that they wanted to be completely removed from his project, website and anything to do with him/his project to which we were ignored and given no choice; per his saying again: "No sorry, the clan will remain in the unclaimed directory and will keep using any available information." Now, if you have some human decency and self respect, you would understand that some people do not wish to use or be associated with your website for various reasons. Some people don't advertise for their clans at all and don't wish to for various reasons as well. Deciding, from your own will to use certain website/tools does not give other people permission to list your clan on websites they want nothing to do with for ethical and personal reasons. There's no opt in/out anymore, which is what many leaders are very unhappy about (to stay polite). May i add that Alex has never been owner/leader of a clan, mater of fact, Alex is not in a clan and want's nothing to do with clans (per his own words again), so how can we trust someone that has/wants nothing to do with it to understand and respect our needs? The answer is simple; you can't. Now as to answer the questions asked when you go to type in a review: What went wrong this time? Everything. He does not listen to people whatsoever. How can it be improved? Respect people who want no association whatsoever to the website even if it is in the unclaimed section we asked to not be on. Stop mass dming leaders and joining their servers to advertise your website with a poor pitch sale to try and force people to use it. You should've let your project grow naturally out of good feedback/character/word of mouth.

Slimy Tactics

Slimy tactics, leeching information to build a "brand", stalker behavior and allowing and enabling this behavior is such a dark tainted shadow on the Runescape brand as a whole in my humble opinion.

Avoid Avoid Avoid Alex 2.0

Alex is an arrogant owner who actively antagonises people who try to give him feedback
He has also recently taken assets without clans permission recently and posted them to his website to make it looks busier than it is after he had an exodus of clans
0/10 do not recommend using his service, he also wont remove your clan from his website regardless of your desire to be associated with it

Malicious Owner

The owner is taking all clans and putting them on his site even when asked not to and asking to be removed entirely. Can not trust this guy to not go rogue in the future with something more malicious. Stay far away

Influenced by a "mega clan" to make it more favorable to them.

Good idea, bad execution. Influenced by a large "mega clan" that pushes their users to vote for things to overpower the majority of clan owners. Alex, the owner is very bull headed and leaves things up to the community. However votes can be influenced as a solid chunk of the community is from the mega clan. In the last poll the option that favored the mega clan suddenly gained 40+ votes in around 5 to 10 minutes. Most of the votes for that option came from that mega clan. I have no doubts that this will be done the same way. The moderation of the discord server is hopelessly bad. Alex allows toxicity to run rampant and doesn't do anything towards anyone. The whole community is extremely toxic. He also flooded a bunch of clans with spam messages to their members to spread the word of his website. Then, he tried to monetize the platform and give significant boosts to those who paid. He only acquiesced once there was a massive wave of backlash for nearly all the clans (You'll never guess what clan was for it).

If you want to find a good clan, find it through disboard, the osrs discord server, google, or elsewhere. Pass on this website, I'm sure there will be a better version at some point in the future.
