Problem with OSB Kent Reliance

Reasonable interest.
Not bad web interface.
But!
NO way to contact head office Sunderland.
All phones go to India. They are helpful. But sent me wrong end of year 24/25.
I e mailed 5 times.
I phoned 4or 5 times.
I e mailed formal complaints twice.
Promised correct report early last week. After 5 to 6 working days, No end of year reports by post!!!???
Now, my only option, this report, report to Financial Ombudsman, complain in writing to the OSB Kent Reliance M D.
Dr. Oded Szpiro
P. S. Let's see if clever enough to find on depositors' Data Base.
Maybe this report will wake up

Absolute disaster of a company. They move operations to India for cheap labour knowing full well the level of customer service will be sacrificed. I had to end a call as I had no clue what they were saying. Gone elsewhere now. DO NOT USE!!!!, 🤬🤬🤬

One Savings bank - crap crap crap

I have never been with the most unpleasant non Customer service company. Avoid Avoid they have made myself and my wife's life hell. I came out of work with Hnpp and we kept them upto date asked for some assistance there was none. All they want is to earn more money for charges and charges. I hope somebody who has the funds to litigate wins and shuts them down.

Dishonest & Devious

For a year I tried to withdraw an investment in excess of £80,000 from Kent Reliance without success. I then received paperwork from Kent Reliance/One Savings bank to close the account and withdraw the funds. The paperwork, which confirmed closure and the receiving bank account, was duly completed and returned in the One Savings bank envelope which they supplied and a message was sent on the Kent Reliance messaging service confirming the closure.

Kent Reliance then confirmed on their messaging service that the account would be closed and the funds returned and they specified a date. The date arrived but the funds did not. The Kent Reliance call centre in India was contacted and they said that the money had been reinvested into another account and would not be returned. Over several phone calls the Indian call centre then told lie after lie and still the money was not returned.

Eventually court action was threatened but the money was still not returned until, on the day the court action was to be initiated, Kent Reliance were advised that the initial court cost they would have to pay was in excess of £4,200. At that point the money was returned on the Faster Payment service.

As a final insult Kent Reliance “backdated the payment date” and avoided paying one days interest!

Futile attempt to open savings acct

Tried to open a savings acct as they were offering a good rate. Sent all the documents as per their guide to prove identity and address, but they would not accept a certified true copy of my passport, which in fairness I accept, as the certified copy was over a year old (although it was still a certified true copy and the passport was still in date). I sent another up to date certified copy of my passport and another copy of my online bank statement (as per their list of acceptable documents to prove address) and this time they would not accept the bank statement. After discussion on the phone with their call centre, I expressed my confusion and finally was told to send an uncertified copy of my driving licence and that this would be acceptable to yet again prove my address (which had already been proven by the bank statement). I checked at the time if an uncertified copy of my driving licence would suffice, given the difficulties up to this point, and was assured it would. However I got another call a week later saying that the driving licence did not meet their criteria again! At this point I told customer services that I give up; clearly they don’t want my business.
I was a savings customer with Kent Reliance less than two years ago and was very happy with their service, but clearly the takeover by OneSavings has completely ruined what was a good Building Society. Having seen the other reviews I am now glad that I didn’t succeed in my futile bid to jump through their interminable hoops to open a savings acct with them - I am annoyed however how much of my time they wasted and how incompetent their customer facing team are. I wonder why they go out of their way to deter customers and provide false information. If I could give a negative star I would!

Hello Caroline

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and for your feedback. The safety and security of our customers' savings is one of our top priorities and because of that we often need to ask for additional ID before opening an account. I am sorry that this has inconvenienced you and I hope you were able to find a savings account that you are happy with.

Frustration all round with this bank

Both my husband and myself had an account each with both Kent Reliance and Charter, 4 Accounts in all, whom I'm told, by an ex CEO that they are part of the ONE Savings bank. I had the problem twice with Kent and now my husband has the same problem with an account with Charter. Common then. It is the difficulty encountered when we want to change our nominated bank accounts. I believe and I doubt if this is isolated to just me and my husband as many people are changing banks accounts everyday. Just because THEIR system cannot accommodate by recognising some of the well known high street banks, they expect the customer to do all the running around to verify whom they are. If they want to be part of the IT enterprise then they should have systems which can accommodate this simple exercise and they obviously don't and they must recognise that many banking establishments do not offer documents with all the personal information in one place. The latest and third time being affected, staff don't seem to understand or even familiarise themselves with details before entering into dialogue. Previous staff seemed to lack power to help. Whilst employees at managerial level are illusive. I hope to get a resolution soon but whatever the outcome we will never put our savings with them again.

Zero Star Really!

Only gave a one star because zero star is not available.
Totally useless and a complete shambles.
Overpaid a mortgage and they ADDED the payment rather than Subtracted it, then could not fix it properly, then claimed they needed to investigate, blah blah blah.
Three months later the ombudsman had to investigate this fly by night bunch of crooks!
