Ortofon uses UPS för delivery to private buyers. Ups is not to be trusted. But.......
When telling Ortofon support about the problem - absolutely no response from them.
Since only the sender can start a case with UPS, it is vital that Ortofon help their customer.
I bought a 2m Blue from their website. I was careful to check that tax was paid, since I live in the UK, and I know that, due the massive number of xenophobes in this country, importing goods from the EU can be expensive. However, on the Ortofon checkout page, it said that tax was included. I then got a demand from UPS for c30% import tax. I contacted Ortofon to see if someone was trying to scam me, but I got no reply. I ended up paying UPS so I could get my cartridge.
Take-away message: don't believe the line "Tax included..." and don't be surprised when you have to pay extra to get your package.
