Over all good experience. It was frustrating trying to reach someone. I would go online to schedule an appointment and the link wouldn’t work… I work during the day and unless a call is scheduled. I can’t answer the phone. I recently called with a question and had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Jen Gonzales - Case Manager 125. I admittedly he was frustrated when I called. Jen was upbeat, resourceful, informative, an amazingly helpful. She was an absolute delight. If I could read her service, I would give it 1 million stars.

This complaint concerns the tax resolution company advertising itself as the “#1 tax resolution service,” Optima Tax Relief. After nearly a year of working with the company, we paid $4,308.00 in fees; however, our original tax debt increased from approximately $12,000.00 to $15,288.00.
Throughout our engagement, Optima Tax Relief intentionally misled us by providing false, incomplete, or no substantive information regarding the handling of our case. The company failed to protect us from potential asset seizure, failed to properly evaluate or pursue eligibility for the IRS “Fresh Start” program, and failed to provide meaningful audit defense or strategic guidance as represented in their advertising.
During the period in which our case was supposedly in “resolution,” we repeatedly requested to speak directly with a Tax Resolution Specialist to discuss the status and strategy of our case. Each request was denied. We were consistently told that all calls were handled through the main department line. It became evident that we were communicating with a call center rather than a dedicated specialist familiar with our specific circumstances.
Every time we contacted the company, we received what appeared to be scripted responses stating that our case remained in resolution, without any meaningful updates or detailed explanations. Despite numerous attempts to obtain clarification and progress reports, we were never provided with substantive information regarding what actions, if any, were being taken on our behalf and any attempt to speak with a so-called “Tax Specialist” each request was denied.
We subsequently requested a refund of the $4,308.00 in service fees paid; however, our request has gone unanswered. As a result, we have suffered both the financial loss of the service fees and an increase in our overall tax liability.
Our household relies on a single income. Although I have taken steps to increase federal tax withholdings to reduce future liabilities, we continue to face significant annual tax obligations. We engaged Optima Tax Relief in good faith, relying on their advertised expertise to assist us. Instead, we believe we were taken advantage of and, in hindsight, would have been better served working directly with the IRS.
As of the date of this letter, the IRS has issued a notice of property seizure. Optima Tax Relief has failed to deliver the services it advertises and failed to act in our best interest. Based on our experience, we believe this constitutes fraud and deceptive business practices.

I called this company to help me with tax relief instead of getting into tax details the first one to find out how much money or how rich I was based on that they said their prices I told them I need someone to stand next to me to fight IRS they don’t do that. They basically see how much you’re worth and how much can you pay back or you can do that on the phone with IRS as I did instead of $20,000 IRS charge me $978 everything was done so I was very disappointed. They run expensive commercials. They hire people actors to make him sound good in reality. Be smart shop around don’t hire this company.
