Most resellers spend too much money and time on domains. With Openprovider and our Membership program, you can buy, renew, and transfer domains at cost price on one platform to become a more successful and profitable reseller. We are a rapidly-growing, ICANN-accredited domain registrar and technology scale-up founded in 2004 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. We understand the frustrations of wasting hours searching for new domains at fair prices; being hit by unexpected renewal costs after the first year; and losing customers because you can’t offer attractive bundles. That’s why we built a platform to easily manage operations for over 1,900 domain extensions. We were the first to offer a Membership Program to get the domains you need at cost price, and we've been helping clients sell millions of domains for more than 20 years.

I did open an account at openprovider.com, but never gave explicit consent for commercial communications. I did receive a spam today, confirming that I will not give my business to these people.

Support was a bit slow to work with, however, after calling them things were sorted out eventually. Pricing is pretty good as well :)

Complete scam. They use a funnel making you think you are paying for a domain; when you complete the process, you DONT have the domain, only credit in your account, and THEN they ask you for a bunch of details, misleading customers to add credit, will be requesting a full refund asap.
Exactly, you tricked me into adding credit to my account not into buying a domain, once you took my money you then asked for more details etc, total scam, I dont want the domain no more I want my money back as I requested 4 times already. Still waiting

We have been using OpenProvider's services for a bunch of years, but currently we're completely fed up with this company and their staff.
I won't even take on older issues that we've been going through, so I'll just detail the last issue:
Since adopting PHP8, OpenProvider module stopped working correctly and is constantly giving errors.
We have reported these issues on OpenProvider's GitHub, unfortunately this company has their ISSUES area filled with issues and no response from the developers.
So we reported the issue not only via GitHub issues, but also via support ticket.
Issues were initially reported in the 12th of December.
Since the 12th of December, we've heard a never ending list of excuses like:
21st of December - email support;
- The developer is unavailable to check the GitHub issues (???) - this is a statement from the email. I'm not sure what this means or why are they telling me this? Is like the company only has ONE developer or something?
- If the developer requires additional info, he will ask for relevant details in GitHub issue - also haven't seen anything like it in the month and half the issue has been open;
On the 23rd of December, I was told also via support email that "have scheduled a meeting for next week to discuss the issues you raised" - the meeting is with the one developer I guess. I have no idea if this was supposed to put me at ease;
On the 28th of December, I was told that the meeting had happened and:
"Both cases have been added to our WHMCS team's tasks list for improvement/bug fix after I discussed them with our WHMCS consultant. The issues will be addressed in an upcoming release." - seems like something is going to happen. Please notice this developer took three weeks (week 50, 51 and 52) to be available for "a meeting". Only three weeks after the issue has been reported, was this company able to "meet" with the "WHMCS consultant".
Please let this be a serious warning to everyone.
On the 3rd of January they came up with a test suggestion. The test suggestion did not work.
On the 4th of January I was told:
"This error is caused by WeDevelopCoffee Power - a project used in the Openprovider module. During my search for an expedient solution to this issue, I got this suggestion when I reported the problem on the project's GitHub page. Based on the error message, the suggestion seemed right to me. But I had no option for testing it myself and I am sorry to hear the suggestion didn't work."
- (The suggestion from the email is different from the proposed solution at GitHub actually, but I tested what I was told).
Also on the same 4th of January I was told via email:
"As our developer is currently working on a list of things/tasks, I am not sure how soon he can check this specific issue."
On the 6th of December, so 2 days after being told the developer was currently working on tasks, I was told:
"This week, our WHMCS consultant and developer are not available due to the new year holidays."
Can you imagine a company where one guy goes on vacation and has ZERO response to issues? No team, no backups, nothing. Here is OpenProvider.
On the 12th of January (ONE MONTH AFTER THE INITIAL REPORT) I get this:
"In regards to your other questions, our WHMCS consultant, *name*, is one of the creators of the module and was head of the project for a long time. *name* was unavailable the last couple of weeks due to holidays and illness. Also, the developer who was assigned to check the cases couldn't start due to the sudden demise of his grandfather. The delays in releasing fixes were caused by these unforeseen events."
I despise this kind of approaches/excuses for not doing the work. We had massive floodings in December, the city was caos, power outages, office closed and still we were able to provide timely response to all our clients. People DO GO on vacation, people do have mourning periods, that is not an excuse for a COMPANY/ORG being unable to give response.
Moving on.
On the 18th of January - yet another week - I get word that:
"I just wanted to give you a quick update on this, the internal case is in progress and the developer is currently testing the module with PHP 8.1. I will inform you as soon as the fix is released."
You start seeing that light in the end of the tunnel, you'd think.
On the 20th of December I get the following:
"I just had a meeting with our WHMCS consultant and developer to discuss progress. Unfortunately, the developer was also unable to reproduce the issues (with additional fields) mentioned in *edit*GitHub issue #252 and #258*edit*
I also couldn't reproduce the problem with PHP 8.1 (...)".
I sent my whmcs installation for them to test.
At the same time, downloaded a full clean whmcs install, copied configuration.php over and installed OP modules. Same errors.
1 month and half later, nothing was done. This is OpenProvider.

Great domain registrar having awesome black friday deals
Great company. I migrated all my domains without any problem. Support is brilliant!
I've had a gr8 experience with Openprovider. Keep up the good work !
Our company nearly suffered a great loss. Not only have we been suffering from severe downtime nearly everyday since August. Yesterday, 7 years of work nearly seemed to have been thrown down the drain when with fright we opened the browser, browsed to our domain and realized that the site was blatantly redirected to a site with ads / malware. We frantically sent a support ticket and a tweet.
They responded to the tweet first with saying please contact support with a link to the support ticket tool. We couldn't believe our eyes and told them that we already did and for them to please check the tool themselves. Nearly six hours later we get an emotionless e-mail telling us that 2 weeks ago they sent out a notice (that we didn't receive) that some domain-names would not be registered by openprovider anymore for free and that we had to contact the main registrar for the domain to transfer it over and subscribe to Premium DNS. In there they sent us a link to what we should have done before 4th October.
Subscribing would not have been a problem whatsoever for us if we had ever known what dangers our domain would be in.
Basically we were one click away to either having to admit that we lost years of work in building a clientelle of nearly 256K users a month and a DA rating of 86 on our domain and that we have lost it and have to rebuild it or hope that whatever registrar still had our domain was accessible and that we could still purchase it.
If it was due to our own negligence that we didn't saw the notice that some domain names were being removed, that is indeed our fault. But there were no multiple warning e-mails. Nothing seemed urgent. if it was urgent I think we would have to receive a direct e-mail containing exactly which domains would be affected, multiple e-mails and also waaaaay more time than only 2 weeks notice. These domains were removed of our overview in ovenprovider so I assume that the e-mail about which domains these are should contain a clear message that our site would literally be taken over by some other agency on the 4th of October.
Apparently our domain was still available on Marcaria.com, so we are grateful that we could retrieve it. If it wasn't for my wonderful team and prompt action in recovering our domain, we would have been completely destroyed. We immediately transferred over to AWS and will slowly try to transfer over all domains there.
Really disappointed with the support.
As a member, we should have premium support.
Support takes a lot to respond to, especially when a serious problem happens
offers good domain prices and large array of domain types, but when things go wrong support is very slow, taking days if you are lucky to ever to resolve issues
Expensive and with a money management via "balance" (you need to charge your account to pay each domain/service)
I got no problems with the client service and my hosting/domains worked perfectly, but I found the same services and even more for less money. So it's time to migrate.
5 years ago, I moved all of my domains from another wholesale domain registrar to OpenProvider and now I regret why I didn't do that earlier.
The only problem with OpenProvider was that they had an old control panel but they've replaced it with a very modern new one recently which is awesome.
I would recommend their services.
