New Filing procedures at Companies House are incredibly tiresome!!
Personally the new system requiring EACH director to have access to their emails, ID, phone, Companies House personal identification number all within a relatively short period of time is just incredibly onerous. We are a non trading, dormant company, and even we are not always accessible. One of our directors was away and forwarding all her emails to someone out of the UK - and this took a substantial amount of time to figure out how to surmount with a 10 hour time difference not assisting at all. Obviously we got there, but days worth of sorting it out is crazy. What will happen with big companies where the directors are travelling everywhere all the time. And the increase in CH filing prices is crazy!! Not to mention that each amendment requires a fee on top of the filing fee which has already increased so much!! Are there really so many fraudulent companies that you require each director to verify themselves yearly with id's and selfies? To me - it is crazy and unnecessary and ultimately nothing more than a money spinner for Companies House as it creates so much extra work on our part. Anyway, that is my two cents on it.
EDIT - sorry - I do realise that you do not make the rules. I guess my frustration was that I had fallen for using your service at all because it arrived so soon after the one from Companies House. I have never filed other than through Companies House at half the price no less. And having jumped through all the hoops a year ago, I truly expected that doing this year's filing through CH would involve nothing more than supplying verification codes without double and triple checks all over again. Of course, that may well be the case doing it directly through them too - but I will now have to wait a year to find out.

To provide some context, Online Filings is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) registered with Companies House and supervised by HMRC for Anti-Money Laundering purposes. As part of these obligations, we are required to verify the identity of directors and users before certain filings can be submitted. These requirements are set by Companies House, rather than by Online Filings, and we do not have the ability to bypass them.
While we appreciate that the additional checks can sometimes feel burdensome, they form part of wider measures aimed at improving the accuracy of the Companies House register and helping to prevent misuse of UK companies.
We're pleased that, despite the challenges involved, your verification was completed successfully and your filing was submitted before the deadline.

This company is a bunch of scammers and…
This company is a bunch of scammers and thieves. They got my private email address and sent me a message requesting my Company House details. I didn't think anyone would send me an email without my consent and pretend to be from Company House, so I paid for the details update. However, after paying while filling out the form, I realized something was wrong, as too much of my data was being requested. I stopped entering my details and checked the payment. When it turned out the payment hadn't been sent to Company House but to another company, I immediately submitted a refund request and had my details deleted. Three days later, I learned they would only refund the payment they had collected for Company House, but not the £39.60 they had collected for themselves. Beware of emails from these scammers. They impersonate Company House, HMRC, etc. to extort money from the fees they charge!!! BE CAREFUL! DON'T BE SCAMMED LIKE ME!!

Cannot get in touch with them. our company submitted a confirmation through this company which was never submitted. Do not use them and go directly to the gov service. Definitely a scam as you cannot get in touch with them on phone and the chat functionality doesn't work.

Not surprised by many of the one star issues hereabouts.
Tried to get in touch with them three times, including an invitation to reply to their message/mail.
You have to wonder at what's happened. Either poorly resourced and unable to meet fundamental courtesies or managerial incompetence. Quite possibly a bit of both. Relatively easy to rectify.

avoid and file direct
It required payment for using the service, failed to get my documents accepted by Companies House, but said it was not obliged to refund my money. It offered 50% back as gesture. It claimed not to be obliged to repay as I had used its software, which I had not. People planning to use it need to be aware it is not part of Companies House but a separate private company making money from filing required reports whic h can be filed with Companies House direct.
