A prescription was issued for me via the Online Doctor service on Tuesday afternoon, with a message that it had been sent to me local Boots, who would advise within 24 hours when it was ready to collect. I hadn't heard anything as Wednesday progressed so I called in. I was advised that it was on the list for dispensing either late Wednesday or early Thursday, but more likely the latter. However, he sent a message to ask for it to be ready on Wednesday.
In the end I did not get back to the branch until Thursday mid-morning, but it still wasn't ready. The person advised it was down to be dispensed later that day. However, she said if I could wait 10 minutes she would get it ready now.
With many other online pharmacies, I can order an item and it is sent to my home the next day. Why are Boots Pharmacies, on so many issues, so ploddingly slow?

Photo ID & a selfie is required during consultation. Once you’ve taken your photos, the website degrades the photo quality massively. Selfie photo was accepted (not sure how a proper assessment of the skin could be done using this grainy photo) but the passport photo was rejected by the doctor as too blurry, and there’s absolutely nothing you can do. They won’t accept the photos by email, or even taking the passport into branch isn’t accepted. Extremely frustrating

My mounjaro took 5 days to be delivered to the North Finchley store and when I went to collect it, I asked the pharmacist how to inject it and she just told me there was a good leaflet inside the box. I was quite surprised by the lack of interest in showing me how to give myself a dose safely. Any medicine can be potentially harmful so if I was uncertain, the pharmacy should have taken more care to explain what to do. I ended up going home and putting on a youtube video to learn how to attach the needle tip and then dial up the dose. The only good part of the experience was seeing the lovely manager who used to personally deliver medicines to me during the pandemic as I had to socially isolate. She remembered me and ran over to me with a sharps box to take away. It was great to see her again as she had been so kind in the past but I remained disappointed that the first person had been unhelpful. The next steps were not made clear to me by the pharmacist either - whether I order again myself or if it goes through automatically. I did ask about this and again, didn't receive much of an answer. I don't feel supported by this company and am already looking for a new one for my long term follow up.

Really good service. I normally go to GP and get 5 tablets on perception which cost about £10 and I got 20 tablets for £19 so next time i have an infection i can use the left over ones. Will definitely use service again.

Ordered medication from boots online for the first time so I was not sure how good an experience it would be .
I had to fill out a consultation and have it reviewed then finally approved by a pharmacist .
I paid upfront and once Approved my prescription went to my usual local chemist so my experience was very good
