I am a long time member. I live in FL and my membership is 49.99. I also pay for a family member in NY. Her price is now $56.57. They say the difference is the tax but will not return a call to tell me how they are charging OVER 13%. I am disgusted that no one will return my call. They just send it to escalation team and do nothing. Given that Peloton has been sued on this issue you would think they would be able to answer.
I had a subscription to the Peloton + app for a year and let it lapse. As I am trying to renew my membership, I want to pay for annually, a little savings that way, and the website will not allow the change without talking to someone. The problem is no one I've talked to (3 people now, and several hours later) can resolve the website issue to allow me to subscribe annually. It is the most dysfunctional website ever. The app itself I like, the instructors are great, but initiating a membership change seems impossible. It doesn't seem to be a business/billing office to talk to, only call centers.
I purchased my Peloton Tread in January 2023, and it was delivered February 1, 2023. Per the warranty booklet that came with my tread the walking belt has a 3 year warranty. "Peloton warrants the walking belt against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of three years from the date of original
delivery." A couple of months ago the treadmill belt became very slick and I twisted my ankle trying to use it. I tried to clean it with 2 different degreasers but it remained slick. I never have used any food / beverages / or products near the tread. A peloton tech came out per our request and agreed that it was dangerous to use and that the base needed to be replaced under warranty. She called Peloton and updated our ticket with this information while we were in her presence. Peloton is refusing to honor their own warranty despite the recommendation of their own tech who came out and saw the product. First they said it would be covered by warranty but our warranty had expired. When I provided proof that the walking pad has a 3 year warranty they backtracked and said only "damage due to factory defect" is covered under the warranty despite
the book I have from them saying "defects in workmanship AND material." I have found other Peloton users on Reddit and Facebook that have had this same defect of material and they all claimed to have had their Peloton base replaced
under warranty.
My husband gave me a Peloton bike for my birthday. Received it 11/7/25. Paid to have it built. Sunday 11/9/25 i bought the membership and tried to use the bike. It did not work. Tried calling customer service and after being disconnected, calling back and being placed on hold, three hours later a human told me the department was busy and that I had to leave a message with expected return call in 24 hours.
I waited 7 days.... no return call. Spent another Sunday morning the next week, 3 hours again, being disconnected, placed on terminal hold and transferred when a nice man finally took pity on me and took time to try to trouble shoot the issue. We did a factory reset but that did not work. He determined it was a bad cable so he ordered a new one for me and sent me a link to schedule a technician to install it.
The next day I received a lengthy accusatory email from someone at Peloton telling me I had behaved inappropriately, and that if I did not stop, my membership would be forever terminated. The man (his name starts with an 'E' so we will call him E) also explained that I was no longer allowed to call customer service and that anything I have to say has to go through him. He also told me that I would have to pay for the part and technician since I had been a member since 2019. I was in shock. I have never owned or been a member of Pelotin. I explained this to E and added that the bike has not been in my possession for a full 10 days, that it is definitely under warranty and that my only recourse was to call to ask for assistance from customer service. I only called because my $1800 bike was a large paperweight in my home, inoperable. I thoughtfully responded to E as he seemed upset and stressed by something. So I decided to wait for the part. I waited 3 weeks and no part arrived. I was afraid to call customer service again or contact E after his threatening email so I decided that none of this was worth my energy. Peloton obviously sold us a lemon. Peloton is refusing to assist me to repair it and I am not allowed to return it until a repair attempt has been made. So, I cancelled my membership and put the bike in household garbage to be taken to the dump for disposal. Given Peloton's very poor customer service and their threatening response to my legitimate request for help to fix the bike I cannot recommend this product. It might be a fine product but I will never know.
I owned a Bike+ for over five years and genuinely loved using it. In the fifth year, I began experiencing numbness in both wrists and reached out for a technician to help readjust the bike. My doctor even suggested the numbness could be related to improper alignment. I had an extended warranty through March 2026, so I expected support to be straightforward. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
After 10 back-and-forth emails, Peloton still failed to address my issue adequately. The customer service experience was highly disappointing and felt anything but community-focused. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing the extended warranty—the support is simply lacking.
I don’t recommend Peloton because it’s a subscription-based product that only works well until something breaks. Unfortunately, when issues do come up, their support is not helpful.
Deceitful and illegal practice! Peloton delivered a used bike to me. Support promises to get back now 4 times, manager never calls back. Nowhere in rental contract, email or site where peloton rentals are listed, it is mentioned that the rentals are used bikes. Refurbished items are clearly spelled out as original bike+ refurbished so they are deceitful not disclosing that the rentals are also used bikes. One of the key reasons rentals are preferred is to avoid issues with bikes before purchase and that was the intent here (basically to purchase shortly after if all works out). So, delivering a used item without disclosing is a breach of contract. This is deceitful and illegal practice!
Do not get this unless you want to subscribe to Peloton forever. If you ever stop, the screen is useless.
We cancelled our Peloton subscription about a year ago because we weren’t using the classes enough to justify the cost. We also just wanted to ride and watch Netflix. Initially, we were able to do that for some time, and I enjoyed having that option. However, as of the October 2025 software update, Peloton no longer permits riders to access the Netflix app, cast to the screen, or even connect music from a phone via Bluetooth.
I don’t understand. We pay separately for Netflix. We paid an enormous amount for the bike, which comes with a screen that has the capability of running the Netflix app. Why would we need to subscribe to classes we don’t want to take to access the technology that we paid for? This is incredibly frustrating, and I caution anyone who thinks they’ll be able to use this bike and screen at some point without an accompanying subscription.
Received a damaged bike, spent hours with unprofessional customer service that promise to call back and never do. Worse possible customer service on product that arrived damage and they admit that it’s damaged.
Equipment and support is awful. Cadence breaks only works backwards making for a very expensive piece of garbage I have to pay to have hauled to the dumpster where it belongs.
Strentgh app is great! Especially with the new chase sapphire reserve $10 a month credit that makes it free.
DO NOT TAKE A FREE TRIAL… SCAM!!
I signed up for a free trail in June 25 …and tried to cancel it within the free trail period but they are still taking my monthly £28.99. I have:
Emailed peloton support
Cancelled via the app
Tried to cancel via Apple Pay
And today they took another £28.99 a month again.
So far a free trail has cost me £144.95!
And I’m going to have to pay again next month too unless someone steps in?

It is impossible to cancel one’s account via the app. My teen decided that she didn’t want to continue. I have two masters degrees and cannot figure out how to cancel my account. I’m going to have to manage this thorough my credit card company.
Peloton was an amazing product five years ago, but now the company has become completely unethical.

Updated: Peloton has repaired the tread at no cost.
I have had a peloton tread for just under two years. The safety key came out as per normal operating use and now the tread no longer works. The cost to “fix” this is ridiculous and should be covered under warranty as it is not due to wear and tear or misuse. I have been trying to escalate this issue and have spent almost three weeks following up on call backs that never come. Given the cost of the tread plus the monthly fees I would have expected a much better experience with that is supposed to be a trusted brand. Think twice about purchasing the tread and strongly consider going with another brand that backs up the quality of their products. Fast forward, it’s been another five weeks and I am still waiting for my parts to be shipped. Every time I contact peloton I can not find a human that can answer when these parts will ship. I wish I could get the same run around on my tread that Peloton is giving me.
UPDATE: Peloton has corrected this issue.
I bought a peloton treadmill a few years back, used it about eight times after that, the screen broke. Contacted peloton about the broken screen said it was a few months out of warranty so I’d need to buy an additional $600 screen in order to continue to use my $3000 peloton. After calling peloton and explaining the situation that the machine couldn’t be used instead of canceling my peloton subscription peloton continue to charge me for over a year.

Update - customer service got in touch and escalated this issue and have agreed to repay the money owed. Adjusting from 1 to 3 stars.
Original experience.
Peloton have been double charging me for the last 15 months. In total overcharging me by more than $800. While they admit to overcharging me - they have refused to repay the overcharged amount - and have instead asked that I dispute the charges with my bank as fraudulent charges (presumably so that they can rely on the bank's insurance company to avoid having to pay amounts that they admit have been fraudulently overcharged). I might expect this sort of treatment from a sketchy scam site - but it is unfathomable from a publicly listed company. I am cancelling my subscription and will have to pursue the money they owe me through legal means.

**Update** Peloton reached out and resolved the issue which I appreciate.
I really want to love this company and I enjoy their programming, but I've had a terrible experience with their refurbished bike program. I struggled to afford a regular bike so purchased a refurbished one, particularly because they advertise them as being thoroughly inspected and held to a high standard. The bike, upon delivery, wouldn't even power on and the screen flashed green and pink. After some lengthy back and forth, they agreed to replace it with another refurbished bike. The pedals click, the seat post collapses, the screen glitches. I've tried to make do because of the initial hassle (at least this bike turns on) but it's a misery to use. What are the odds that I've been sent TWO uninspected bikes? One of the techs who came out said it looked like I rode the bike often due to how stripped the pedals were, and I'd had it less than 2 months. Today I called and asked if I could pay the difference with my own money for a new bike. The customer service rep was sympathetic and acknowledged all the documented issues but said no, it was final sale, zero recourse available. She kept placing me on hold to speak with her manager about the situation, but when I asked to speak with the supervisor directly she said no because they were "there all alone". At this point I think I'm going to file a chargeback and a complaint with the BBB as the bikes clearly weren't inspected as promised. Save yourself the headache and choose a more honest fitness company.

I have had the bike for years but admittedly I have never used it regularly since I am more of a runner.
So I bought the tread plus maybe a year and a half ago and I regret it immensely.
I have had issues since the very beginning with the screen. It loses sensitivity and when you cannot use the touchscreen, you cannot unlock the tread to use it or do anything. Every single time, I have to reset it in order for it to work again. Sometimes it is fine for a few days before I have to do it again, but then I have days like yesterday where I had to do it 4 times.
I have been calling Peloton and although the customer service agents have always been nice and apologetic, all I want is a machine that works. My worry is that when the warranty is done, I will just have an expensive piece of junk laying around. A quick Google search shows that many people have this same issue. I have had the screen replaced once and then once had someone come and change some hardware. But the issue keeps happening, which means something is wrong with MANY screens. Peloton should issue a recall and give us the option to return the tread plus.
Someone was supposed to come a couple of days ago to replace the screen again and the guy never showed up. No call or anything. And when you call Peloton, they cannot help since they use a third party. And the last time the guy came to assess the situation, he was 2 hours late without any apologies and just came in and did not even touch the monitor. We just told him our issues and he said it needed to be replaced and that we would have to schedule another appointment for that. What a royal waste of time! I work and do not have time to just keep on waiting around for technicians!
I wish I knew all this before and would have invested in a quality machine. This one is terrible and the company refuses to properly address the issues.
