During the workshop, I learned the importance of creating a shot list and shooting plan. I also learned how to use camera moves such as tilt, push, pan, and glide. I also gained essential knowledge about lighting and sound recording. I realized that one minute can mean a lot if you know how to effectively tell a story. The One Minute Academy has sparked my interest in the video industry like never before. This format will help me advocate for different causes, such as environmental protection, and share stories from across the country.
I am grateful to the U.S. Embassy in Rwanda and to Chris Geisler for his generosity and ingenuity in teaching us over the past five days. This is a great start to my career as a radio journalist. As the media landscape changes, the skills I gained will be invaluable.

It was an unforgettable experience! Five days, five assignments—technical and creative skills. In the course, we learned how to work with Adobe tools for editing and got to know practical filming techniques. This workshop was so great; it was worth the time invested in, despite the delicate balancing of work and assignments. I enjoyed the experience immensely! I feel like I learned a lot in such a short time, and I am now much more confident in my video literacy. The staff, Christoph and Suad were simply the best! the sweetest people I ever met on such training, they were as willing to invest their time in our learning. It made me try harder despite the challenges because I wanted them to see that their knowledge was actually successfully transmitted.

The workshop was incredibly insightful and well-structured. It gave me practical skills in storytelling, lighting, sound, and video editing that I can directly apply to my work. The instructors were supportive and highly knowledgeable, making the learning process smooth and enjoyable.
