AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I booked, in January 2014, a 7 night stay at an all inclusive hotel in Turkey arriving on October 6th. I found out at 22.30 hours on the 5th October that my hotel booking had been cancelled! They sent an email at 11.30 hours, saying the hotel was overbooked but I had no intention of going on the computer that day, I really had a lot of things to do before going away. Luckily my partner went on the computer and told me, else I'd have ended up at the hotel at 23.00 hours in complete darkness, dangerous or what!. They say that they called my mobile but there was no missed call, no voice mail and no text!
I got up at 06.00 hours the next morning to try and sort things out, another email received from Olotels saying that the hotel had closed, but I ran out of time and ended up staying at home!
They did offer me an alternative hotel but a bit further east than the resort I had booked...the transfer company did not go to that hotel.
Olotels would not offer me another hotel.
As I had booked my holiday independently I lost the cost of my rail fare, flights & visa costs, about £350 in total (they did refund the cost of the hotel...eventually.
They said they'd investigate but it turned out that for a month they were investigating the wrong hotel! In my opinion they didn't investigate anything and had no intention of contributing to my losses.
Warning to all, if you are booking a holiday go to a travel agents that way at least you will not be left out of pocket as I was, and still am!

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OLOTELS HAVE THEY GONE BUST? (DOESN'T SURPRISE ME!) WEBSITE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AND CAN SEEMINGLY ONLY CONTACT THEM BY EMAIL!

LOOKS LIKE OLOTELS ARE/WERE PART OF AMOMA.COM SO SHOULD WE ALL ASSUME THAT THEY ARE AS BAD AS OLOTELS. DIFFERENT NAME SAME PROBLEMS!

WHATEVER THEY CALL THEMSELVES NO ONE, AS YET, HAS MADE AN EFFORT TO GET IN CONTACT WITH ME!

DO NOT USE- They cancelled my booking from their end and I was stranded at hotel

I had made a booking in Jan 2014 for a booking in Nov 2014. Confirmed with the hotel I had booked with 4 days prior and they confirmed my booking. Flew and arrived at the hotel and my booking was no longer there. Olotel never provided the hotel with my money and booking and when I looked into my booking it had been cancelled internally as though I had cancelled it. Funny thing was though that it was back dated and actually cancelled before I had rung the hotel direct. What a scam! There was no other hotels in the this city as it was a special weekend (Hence why I had booked in Jan) I emailed Olotel and no reply. No other way of contacting. I will be seeking legal counsel as I am still out of pocket and there it no sign that they will be refunding me. What a joke!!

Unable to contact and not responsive to emails - go elsewhere!

I have been trying to adjust my hotel reservation for over a month without any response, I have already paid for the whole stay and now need to reduce the number of nights due to my flight home being changed. The phone numbers they provide don't actually connect and no one replies on any of the email addresses I have used (last count I was up to 3 different addresses). If anyone can help me before I leave next week it would be much appreciated but I won't hold my breath!! I would recommend everyone avoids this company at all costs and book elsewhere in case you need to amend or cancel. I doubt I will ever get a refund for the extra night I have paid for. Viewing other sites there is a disproportionate amount of bad reviews which I wish I had seen before booking. I travel a lot but have never dealt with a company like this before - it's shocking they are still in business.

Avoid at all costs

Booked a trip to Hedonism Resort in Jamaica and had to cancel. Numerous times, in writing through emails, on the webpage, and by phone the cancellation policy was verified for my reservation. After cancelled, received $600 less than I was supposed to. Olotels claimed the resort had kept 3 days penalty for cancellation. Talked to resort and they could not find where I had ever had a reservation and could not verify they had received any funds for a cancellation. Though I am not sure how hard they looked as the lady helping stated numerous times the issue was with Olotels.

Emailed Olotels asking for the balance of my refund or to provide proof the funds were sent to resort and who the point of contact was for that company so I could find out why the agreement was not being honored.

Now there is no response from Olotels. They do not honor any contract or agreement and do not even abide by their own terms of service. Avoid at all cost or risk losing a lot of money.

BAD EXPERIENCE

In February through olotels I booked and paid for a night in a B&B in Sligo for the night of 5 July. All went well until the end of my stay when I presented the voucher provided by olotels to the proprietors to be told that they did not accept vouchers and had not done so in 2014. This resulted in having to pay cash for the B&B.
Between 6 July and 20 July I sent four emails to olotels asking for a refund. All emails have been ignored. After searching the olotels website I found a phone number to call. I ended up speaking to a Turkish booking agency who had never heard of olotels and had no record of my booking.
In a final effort to get a refund I am now dealing with my credit card provider to try to reverse the payment made to olotels.

No Customer Service. Just want your money. 6 weeks and still no refund!

We booked a break for July but had to cancel. Olotels requested our bank details and a bank statement to make the refund. Our bank advised against providing such sensitive information. As per Olotels very own Terms and Conditions we requested that the refund be made via our Debit Card or Paypal. After 6 weeks of emails, of which Olotels continue to send the same automated copied response, we still cannot get the refund and Olotels seem to be happy to be in breach of their own terms of sale. My guess is Olotels will respond to this review requesting the booking details (which I provided via email again yesterday......please check your emails) and promise to respond to discuss (which they wont).

Don't book via this website, you only get disappointed

For our vacation in Scandinavia, we have booked two hotels through Olotels. Since we travel with our nine year old son, we arranged for a room with extra bed in both hotels. Both hotels said at check inn that the booked Olotels rooms were not suitable for this purpose and could only be corrected by the additional payment of an upgrade at check in. After returning we have sent two complaint emails towards Olotels but until now no response from them. My reservation numbers are 7093343 and 7092451 (as proof of my actual booking)

Refund disaster

Do not book with olotels.com if there is any chance you plan on cancelling. I booked a hotel in Dublin for July 25th. I had no intention of cancelling but under unforseen circumstances I had to. I made my initial booking on February 2nd 2014 and cancelled on 9th July 2014. After various emails they wanted specific bank account details for what reasons I do not know. I spoke to my bank about this and even they thought it was unusual but assured me it was safe to give them the specific numbers. Eventually on July 24th I received an email stating that olotels.com had refunded my money 87.38euro. However it never appeared in my account. I sent more emails and they assured me they had made the refund and to speak to my bank. Today I rang my bank and spoke to the specific people with regards my visa refund. They stated that under no circumstances would they decline a refund and that when a refund is made it is made directly by the company (OLOTELS.COM). So I have now emailed them again for my money. I am sick and tired of it now at this stage. Their customer service is appalling. There isent even a ringtone to the customer service number they provided and it is near impossible to find any other number to contact them. It is now 13th of August and I still have no refund in my account. I have never to date been treated like this by anyone or been fed lies and excuses as to why I have not yet received my money. They have tried to distract me by asking me to wait so many days for this and so many days for that and now all of a sudden they tell me its a banking issue. Well it clearly is not a banking issue and if any customer care representative is reading this I can assure you this is an olotels.com issue and a very big one. I will keep you all updated but 5 weeks later I'm still waiting waiting waiting. Disgraceful......

Never ever again.....Avoid at all costs.

I cancelled a hotel booking in June 2014. Within a day I received an email confirming that my refund would be processed within 24 hours and that I would see the money in my account within a few days. So far so good.

Over a week had passed and no sign of my refund so I sent customer care an email. I got an email back saying that they no longer had my card details and in order to process the refund they required my bank details. After a few calls to their customer services department I very reluctantly provided these. I then got an email to say that the refund had been processed and I would receive in 10 to 12 business days. Great...the refund seemed to be back on track.....NOT.

The 12 business days max have come and gone and still no refund. My emails enquiring about the refund are BEING IGNORED and I cant get through to the so called Customer Services Department. Its like the line has been shut down . I wont be letting this go.

My advice is.....AVOID AND BOOK ELSEWHERE. If I could give a negative score rating I would.

I have passed to my credit card company

UPDATE: My bank refunded me.....heard no more from olotels. DO NOT USE OLOTELS. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN.

Don't look for a refund not getting one

Made a booking for a hotel in Feb.'14 and cancelled same in early July have made numerous attempts both by e mail and phone to get a refund but to no avail. Phoned from Ireland to an English number on the system but after 20 minutes no satisfaction and a promise of a phone call from them. To date three days later no such call or response to my e mail. Have tried to phone today and the number is out of service. Very poor customer care and trying to avoid refunds.

Amazing honymoon

I would definitely book again. I could even split my payment in 2 terms. Great service. I live in the Netherlands and went to Orlando florida. The hotel even upgraded our room because it is our honymoon! I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried. But gladly, that was unnecessary.

Will not use again!! Avoid!

I booked a hotel through Olotels in January with the intention of staying at the hotel at the end of July.

Unfortuntaly our plans had changed so luckily I booked the refundable option so I could cancel. I canceleed the hotel through Olotels and I also sent them an email to their cancellations department. I did both things before the cut off date stated on the booking at the outset.

I recevied an email from Olotels confirming the cancellation. However the email stated that since the booking had been made more than 75 days previous to the cancellation they did not have my credit card details on file. They subsequently requested my IBAN and my SWIFT to process the cancellation. These are extremely sensitive pieces of information and I was concerned about giving them out. I asked advice from some friends and they agreed that the company should not need such information. Furthermore nothing was mentioned about an IBAN and SWIFT at the booking outset nor in their terms and conditions. Their website clearly states that refunds will be processed via credit cards, debit cards or paypal. I wrote to Olotels informing them that I wasnt happy about the situation and I would not supply the documents. I requested that they refund the money owed to me as per their terms and conditions. It has been over a week and I have not heard anything from them. Furthermore they provide no contact details.

I am extremely annoyed at the situation. I will get my money back if it means I have to take legal action against them, and I will definitely not be using them again.

AVOID - Cancellation fee has increase and website does not work!!!

Booked accommodation at Glasgow for the Commonwealth games. We did not get the tickets and thus I wanted to cancel my booking.

Where do I begin:
1) When I try to cancel the booking online, the fee has doubled from £10 to £20 - I have the original confirmation email that states £10.
2) No contact number to call
3) The online contact form does not work (tried both IE and Chrome) , the send button doesn't do anything
4) The send message functionality doesn't work on the view bookings page - Again pressing send doesn't do anything
5) Found a UK and USA contact number from a few forums but no one picks up

There is no way to get in contact with this company!!! Avoid at all costs!

Nightmare in the Travel Industry

Booked our hotels in February. Needed to cancell our reservation in April due to my husband's illness. Company indicated that we would receive our refund in 5 days. It is July 14, no refund of $728.00. The company continues to tell us they require more documentation. I have sent and resent documentation. I have talked on the phone with Olotels customer service. The last time I have talked to them was on Thursday, July 10th. We had a bad connection and Olotels was to call me back - no return call. This is truly a nightmare that I do not seem to wake up from. Please give me back my money.

Pray you never have to make a change or get a refund

Olotels.com are by far the worst organisation I have ever dealt with.

My whole experience went sour when I had to reduce the length of my stay of one of my bookings - Olotels tried to charge me for an extra night instead of refunding me. It took 2 weeks of emails before they finally accepted that they should be refunding me for a shorter stay.

Then Olotels.com refused to refund my credit card, and demanded I send a copy of banking documents via email (which is not secure and can easily be intercepted). My bank told me that it was an unacceptable security risk and that under absolutely no circumstances should I do this.

I eventually relented and provided my banking details rather than lose my deposit. But then Olotels started demanding all kinds of different numbers and documents - weeks went by trying to give them all the details they demanded. Then they entered the banking details completely wrong.

It was hard to tell if they were so utterly incompetent they couldn't correctly transcribe a 6 digit number or it was a deliberate stalling tactic.

Weeks later I still don't have a refund and I have had to report them to my credit card company for a chargeback to try and get my money back.

I will NEVER use this company again and I advise others to stay away from them.

I don't see the point of sending another message to your organisation as I've been trading emails with your organisation for weeks about these refunds. Olotels already have all the information needed to process them.

Oh and please don't try to imply the order number associated with this review is invalid - you know very well that this review has been through Trustpilot's purchase verification process.

Ok so I see you have completely deleted your first reply and replaced it with an undertaking to contact me and "provide you with the best solution".

Look this is simple, and there is only one solution. Olotels have stated that I am entitled to refunds for 3 reservations - a total of A$880.26 - the solution is to refund this amount to my bank account.

I have provided all the details you need to make the refund so you have absolutely no excuses for failing to do this, and I should not be paying interest on my credit card for these amounts because of your failure.

UPDATE
I received an email notification saying they had processed a refund. A week later I see no money in my account.

I am still owed refunds for two more transactions worth over $600 in total. I have tried to contact them and Olotels.com are completely unresponsive to emails.

I started out thinking this was just a refund gone wrong with poor follow up to correct it. I think this is something more - it appears they are deliberately ignoring my attempts to resolve this.

I have given up on Olotels and have reported them to my credit card company. It seems the only way to get a refund out of Olotels.com is to get a chargeback through your credit card company.

FINAL UPDATE
A few days after I reported them to my credit card company olotels finally refunded all my money.

Olotels.com are still the worst organisation I've ever dealt with. When I booked they were a couple of bucks cheaper than reputable booking companies, but I've spent weeks now trying to get this sorted out.

Frankly I'd pay double their rates just to avoid having to deal with them.

problems at first, but they came through!

I booked a hotel through Olotels months in advance....being the paranoid person I am, I called the hotel to verify the booking (the price of the hotel was too good to be true so I thought it was a scam). The hotel hadn't received my booking yet so naturally I panicked and contacted Olotels who then reassured me that I am in fact booked at the hotel. Fast forward to the day of my reservation, as I was waiting to board my plane, I called the hotel again to verify (I was still skeptical)...to which they again had said there was no booking. I immediately called Olotels, the agent said they would look into it and call back. He was great! The agent only had 20 mins before I got on a plane to sort it out for me and he did. He apologized for the error and even provided the hotel confirmation #. As much work as that was for myself, I don't mind taking the time to make the calls for my own sanity. If I hadn't called the hotel directly, I would have shown up at the hotel at 11pm without a room.
I would only recommend this hotel if you are willing to take the same steps as I did....

Gazumped by one of the Olotels offered

We booked and paid for the Thistle hotel last November in Glasgow for the forthcoming commonwealth Games. Months later Olotels contacted us to say the Hotel had reneged on the booking. Naturally as the CG's approached the rates in Glasgow have gone sky high and most hotels are already full. So far no satisfactory resolution. In my view, the Thistle Hotel should honour its original commitments and Olotels should insist on this as part of their contract. The Olotels call centre staff are excellent.
