Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Communication, No Delivery, and No Accountability
I ordered from Oliver Peoples with high expectations, but the entire experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Despite placing my order months ago, I have still not received the items, and the handling of the situation by their customer service has been shockingly poor.
The courier used, GLS, never attempted delivery — there was no knock at the door, no card, no SMS, no email, and no prior notice that someone even needed to be home. I was home every day during the supposed delivery window. This alone raised serious doubts about whether any delivery attempt was actually made.
Worse still, there was very limited communication from Oliver Peoples throughout. I had to chase multiple times just to get any form of acknowledgment. When I asked for the package to be redelivered using a different courier, ideally with express shipping to avoid the same issue, I was met with generic responses and no resolution.
Despite detailed explanations, I was told by Emily (customer service) to “contact GLS myself,” which is completely inappropriate — especially when GLS never provided any tracking updates or contact points to begin with. After days of silence, I’ve now received a refund with no clear confirmation or explanation, and certainly no apology or accountability.
I had to escalate my concerns and even warn that I’d pursue a payment dispute, as I had not received the goods I paid for.
Overall, I expected far better from a luxury eyewear brand. The lack of professionalism, follow-through, and transparency from both Emily and Lucia was appalling. I will not be ordering from Oliver Peoples again.
Contacted Twice - No Response
Have contacted twice about a return process and query, I haven’t heard back either time. The items are very expensive and this is not the level of customer service I would expect for the price point.

I spent $496 on a pair of sunglasses that snapped at the hinge just over a year later. When I contacted the company, they told me it was out of warranty and offered no support. For that kind of money, I expect better quality and customer service. Definitely won’t be buying from this brand again
@Rocco Basilico CEO for Oliver Peoples…
@Rocco Basilico CEO for Oliver Peoples - you should be interested that your customer service and processes are beyond dreadful and this is tainting your brand.
Having just spent £750 on two pairs of frames to try based on your "easy returns process", I have spent hours on multiple calls, emailed different teams only to repeatedly receive the same message "we are waiting for your order to be aligned".. I contacted your company.
If I do not receive a returns label soon, I will contact Watchdog in the UK under the consumer act as I have bought in good faith based on your returns policy.
5 starts
I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the outstanding customer service I received during my recent visit to your store, Olives 575 Madison ave. Specifically, I would like to commend the young lady for her exemplary assistance.
From the moment I entered, Bridget from the Olives people greeted me with a warm smile and was eager to help. She took the time to understand my needs and provided knowledgeable recommendations that made my shopping experience enjoyable and stress-free. Her patience and attention to detail were evident, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about helping me find the perfect spectacles.
Bridget's positive attitude and professionalism truly stood out; very outstanding, and I left the store feeling valued as a customer. It’s more opticians like this that we need more like her that make shopping at Olives people the best experience and a pleasure!
Thank you for fostering such a supportive and customer-focused environment. I look forward to my next visit! Ms EB
thank you very much to Mr
thank you very much to Mr. Jithin at your store Kurfürstendamm in Berlin ! after some struggle and difficulties with the frame I had great and very kind and professional help in solving the problem.
Amazing Service at King of Prussia
At the store in King of Prussia, PA, Katie was fantastic. She immediately made us feel welcome with a warm greeting. Moreover, she understood my concerns about how the glasses would be made and how I hoped they could look as thin as possible, without a "frosted ring edge" around the lenses. She empathized with my concerns and reassured me. She directed me to the Japanese acetate lenses, which were even nicer than the rest. I narrowed it down to four frame options, and Katie weighed in in the most helpful way. She understood that I wanted a bit of panache but not to wear frames that distracted from my face. Katie made me feel heard and understood. She asked about insurance, which I didn't realize that I had, and she saved me some out-of-pocket costs. Eyeglass frames are about style, a look. But what really matters is the in-store experience and the finished spectacles. Katie made me feel appreciated and confident that the glasses would be to my liking. I was very impressed with Katie and with Oliver Peoples for a great selection... and for hiring Katie.
Brilliant Sloane Street, London.
Went to Sloane Street store, London, where I had great service. Special mention of the manager, Tessa Forde, who tested my eyes at extremely short notice with great charm, before helping me choose my frames wisely ... and this was her first day of working there!! Sales assistants, Reshma and Sam, added lots more to an already great experience. Brilliant!
Not a premium brand
The prices and shiny stores may suggest this is a premium brand. It is not. Hinge of a pair of sunglasses snapped. The Amsterdam flagship store (!) is unwilling to order the spare part and provide a repair. It is a current model, still for sale in the store. They refer to the store where it was originally purchased. Not a warranty issue, willing to pay for the repair, they just refuse. Poor customer service; not a premium brand; last pair of OP glasses for me.
Oliver Peoples - Honolulu - Fantastic Customer Service
Oliver Peoples - Waikiki / Honolulu - I went to the shop with my glasses (not Oliver Peoples incidentally).
One of the arms had come off but I still had the screw. I was visiting from London, the gentleman in the store, although they don’t repair glasses, reattached the arm and carried out the repair and without charge.
A fabulous experience, when I’m in the market for my next glasses and sunglasses they may have just got a new customer - very impressed. Great customer service and a great impression.
The
Support team that doesn't support.
Oredered online 2 pairs of sunglasses. By mistake , in google was set the old address. I messaged them 5 minutes after I placed the order asking them kindly to change the address. They messaged me on second day telling me they will do theyr best to help. After 28 hrs I recieved email from delivery company that the items were dispatched (to the old address). I emailed again Oliverpeoples "support" team, they came back to me that is to late. So back and forward, they haven't done anything.
What support they can offer for online buyers? Changing wrong ordered items and changing wrong customer's details.
Looks like olivers hired incompetent personal for such an important department for any kind of business.
I will look for other store for my next purchasing.
Boutique store vs Big Box
The Vancouver Oliver People’s location service was empty, the staff on hand were horrible to deal with.
Recently purchased glasses $1500.00, came in late they didn’t pass quality.
Re sent new set, there staff (O) heated and bent them to a in-wearable state.
In order to get new pair we
had to use our one time exchange/warranty.
Dissatisfied
Prescription Sunglass Orders Are ALL Wrong
For two weeks now, I have been waiting for Oliver Peoples to fix their website. Specifically, if you order ANY prescription sunglasses and indicate a specific lens type and color, the order information in the shopping cart defaults back to the stock product specifications (non-RX lenses and the lens color on the product page). I have contacted customer support, spoke with TWO customer support representatives, got a hold of their "concierge" email ALL of whom confirm this is an error ... and ALL of whom have nonchalantly punted the issue.
The obvious option is to go to a retail store. Until you realize very quickly these are franchised (even the "flagship") and they actually *discourage* you from ordering the Barberini glass lenses claiming it will take several months. Having ordered 2 eyeglasses (not sunglasses) from the website, both took less than 3 weeks to arrive.
What is particularly pathetic, and if you are curious what a working Luxottica website looks like, simply go to Persol or Ray Ban, select ANY sunglasses, select a lens color different from the product page, and you will see on your shopping cart that the correct lens information appears.
I have NEVER come across a supposed "luxury" brand that absolutely does not care if it makes a sale or not.
Truly a unique brand of Pathetic.
[Update 06-18-2024] One month, not fixed. Amount of "apology vouchers" accumulated: >75%. Just. Wow.
Oliver Peoples Frames Are Defective .
I have multiple pairs of Oliver People's frames and have always found them to be top notch, quality and stylish with an edge. So purchasing another pair last November 2023 was something I did not think twice about. I had my eye glass store order the RX lenses and was very happy with the end result
As stated I have multiple frames so wore the new ones for about a month and switched them out for another pair. About a month ago I put on the new frames again and about a week later noticed the left arm was causing my face to hurt and leaving a red mark.
The closest Oliver Peoples store I am assuming is in Boston an hour and half drive so I asked my optician to look at the left arm on the frames, he tweaked the screws and all seemed well. I called Oliver Peoples also to find out what my options were in case the fix did not work. I noticed over the past week that the frames are in fact defective , the right lens has a gap that I can put my finger behind, while the left is practically on my temple . I had my optician tweak the arm again today as the left arm was now too loose. He noticed the frames were also defective today its something you wouldn't really notice unless you look hard, but if you put the glasses on the edge of a counter top it is clear the right lens is sticking way out while the left is flush with the counter top.
I called Oliver Peoples this morning and was told that the glasses needed to be sent back to the company, this entails another 45 minute trip to my optician to remove the RX lenses , and then another trip to have them put back in when the frames are replaced ' there's no fixing them. I explained this the the representative who told me there is nothing she can do other than have me follow the return policy, and offered a 20% discount on a new pair of frames LOL. I asked to speak to a manager and was advised after 10 minutes none were available .
Usually a high end or a company that markets itself as a high end retailer/manufacturer go out of their way to fix a problem with their product especially a defect. Not Oliver Peoples apparently , a simple fix on their end and keeping the customer happy would be to overnight me a new pair of frames, I would have my optician remove the lens from the defective pair and send the defective pair back to Oliver Peoples in the packaging they had just sent me.
If I got the opportunity I would have explained this to the Manager but no manager wanted to speak to me I will never purchase another pair of Oliver Peoples glasses they are clearly shoddy, as is their business practices. They don't stand by their product and have no interest in maintaining their customer base or keeping their customers happy
I cannot believe I'm having to write a…
I cannot believe I'm having to write a bad review for a brand that I presumed would offer excellent customer service.
I purchased some sunglasses from the Oliver Peoples online website. No receipt came through, yet their marking emails do. However, the sunglasses arrived a few days later, but I wasn't so keen on them. But there was no paperwork in the packaging. Nothing about returns, no order number. Literally nothing.
I then rang one of the London stores for some assistance, even though I knew they wouldn't be able to help as I bought the sunglasses online. But they did give me a 'concierge' email address to write to. So, I've written. I did get a reply of sorts "we'll look into it and get back to you if we need further information" and that's it. Another two weeks later nothing.
There's now no alternative. Make contact with my credit card provider to get a refund.
The Worst Customer Service Ever
Unresponsive and sloppy customer service. I wrote to report a defect. They asked to send pictures which I did. They never followed up although I wrote them at least another couple of times. I had to get the issue fixed by an optician. I will never buy again from them. Unfortunately the rating doesn't allow to give zero stars
Terrible after-sales and warranty service
I bought a frame in June 2023. I had the prescriptions lenses fitted and I use them as reading glasses. I always carry them in their case because they are beautiful delicate frame. However, one of the temples has always been a little loose but recently since December, the lenses have been popping out. I finally went to the shop where I bought it - they tightened screws and told me that one of the screws could not be tightened because the threading in the hole has worn out and there is nothing they can do. I instead thought: Surely, that is a manufacturing issue. I contacted customer services and its been back and forth - quite a nightmare. I am now using a pair of spectacles that I have owned for at least four years with no problems, while I send back the frame for them to verify and replace. All the while, ideally I should have been able to walk into a shop close to me and have it resolved.
They are expensive and terrible after-sales and warranty policies. I will not recommend them as a company.
The best quality sunglasses as usual…
The best quality sunglasses as usual from Oliver peoples. Love them

I purchased a pair of $486 frames on line for my husband as a Christmas present. When we took them to our optometrist for prescription lenses, he pointed out that a nose pad was missing. Three weeks of attempting to resolve the issue were entirely frustrating: while hunting around the website for other ways to contact this company, I found there was a store in Waikiki. The nice guy there added the missing nose pad in thirty minutes, no charge. Find an actual store or look for another vendor: Oliver Peoples’ “Customer Care” is non-existant.
Great company great service
After reading trustpilot reviews I was scared but my experience was 5 star in the Netherlands. Ordered online, didn’t get tracking but I got shipping confirmation. I emailed the company and they provided me the tracking code. My order got delivered fast. Very happy with my new shades.
