The cut is beautiful on their volk wool pants, the finish details too, BUT the fabric quality is not acceptable. In higher stress areas there's HEAVY pilling, connected to low quality fabric. I'd wish... See more

I ordered a top and a rugby style…

I ordered a top and a rugby style shirt. Both have visible threads that haven’t been trimmed , very sharp itchy labels on the neck that irritate the skin , loose threads on the button holes that catch on the buttons when opening. Very very poor finishing and attention to detail. I kept the shirt and trimmed the threads myself as I like the cut of the item but I won’t purchase anything again as the price is high for the poor quality finishing. 3 weeks on and after only 2 wears all threads on seams coming loose on the shirt. Have to re-sew myself. Absolutely appalling quality. Better finishing on the fast fashion such as Primark. Olive clothing should be ashamed.

Very poor quality

I purchased five items, returned one because of fit, another because it had that very strong chemical smell that I associate with very low priced clothing, which Olive is not.

Overall the style of Olive clothing is very much my taste, so I would have become a repeat customer if not for the incredibly disappointing quality, particularly for the price point. The quality of the items is similar to that of much cheaper retailers like H&M, if not worse.

The skirt I ordered, the waistband stitching came undone on first wear. Both the skirt and dress had more loose threads and uncut threads than any item of clothing I’ve ever seen. The dress fabric has a loose weave and it had a small hole in the sleeve. I didn’t notice it within the two week return period. While sewing up this hole I noticed another hole in the seam.

I was looking for clothing items that would last longer than low end mass produced stuff, which is why I’m happy to pay the price point of Olive clothing, but not for this low standard of quality.

Incorrect sizing

I purchased the yua gingham tiered skirt from them recently. It is advertised as one size fits all, which according to their sizing chart ranges from size 6 to 14 but says in the description:
“UK 6 - 8 can expect a relaxed fit whilst a UK 18 will wear more fitted.” Which implies it should even fit people up to a size 18.

I am a uk size 10-12 in skirts, and I could not even pull the skirt over my legs. It is closer to a size 6-8, I have no idea why they advertise this as a “one size fits all”.

I would return this however as I live in a different country, the cost of returning this skirt is $60+ which is not worth it as I have read they will only refund you with a store credit which I would not be using anyway.

I used to love Olive...

I used to love Olive, but in the last few months, the quality has shot down regarding the materials and cuts. I had a dress for a few years (worm regularly), which I re-ordered recently, and the difference is wild. I'm not sure if they are using a new manufacturer or a supplier.

The quality of products is a mixed bag

The quality of products is a real mixed bag. I have a few really lovely dresses from Olive that have lasted well despite constant wear, however one linen dress I purchased is already faulty even though I've only worn and washed it a handful of times, according to the care instructions. The linen has remained vibrant red but the ribbon tie at the neck has faded to a very pale orange, and I will now need to pay to get it changed out for a button. When I contacted them to complain about the quality of the product, they just sent me AI responses saying it was out of warranty and recommending I fix it myself. Thanks for the advice.

Nice designs but cheaply made and overpriced

Their designs are good and I like the way their clothes fit me. As a lanky man, I'm yet to find better-fitting trousers/jeans elsewhere. But as many others have pointed out, the materials are far cheaper and the craftsmanship much worse than the price tags would lead you to expect.

I have had two pairs of trousers from Olive, whose buttons have broken off within a couple of weeks and with minimal wear. When I wrote to customer service to bring this to their attention, I received a very dismissive and passive aggressive response suggesting I was making a big deal out of a minor issue and that I could easily just have the trousers repaired (though they did not offer to do this for me or to exchange the faulty products for replacements). From a brand that markets itself as boutique and high-quality, and prices its products accordingly, I would have expected a straightforward exchange/full refund for defective products - I was quite surprised to be met with a slightly hostile response and the reluctant offer of a £15 refund on the trousers, which I paid nearly £150 for in total.

Used to be 'slow fashion', now fast fashion

Used to be a 'slow fashion' type of brand with decent materials - you could rely on a dress to be 100% cotton, etc. Now it's just the same polyamide rubbish you'd expect from a much cheaper fast fashion brand.

OK place but gotta pay attention

Honestly, I like their designs, but they have many problems, so you really need to pay attentions when buying online, first of all a lot of times they charge overpriced amounts for clothing with poor materials, and a lot of their clothes are made out of Polyamide. Second, like many people mentioned already, the sizing can be questionable and confusing, their size L can range from 32 all the way to 36 for pants, which like why? just keep them consistent. But I had no problem with shipping to the US, and the item looks good, I would buy from them time to time but definitely not a store you can just buy without worrying about minor details of the clothes.

Unprofessional

I ordered three different shirts from Oliveclothing and every single of them had loose buttons and threads and they were really poorly made, I have pictures. I paid over 140€ for my order and really expected decent quality from this store. I took pictures of all the products and sent them to customer service. "We’re truly sorry to hear that the items did not meet your expectations." "...That said, we understand that individual expectations can vary, and we appreciate you providing your perspective."
I received broken clothes that were literally bad quality and this company did not even offer a refund. This company does not take responsibility for the state of their products apparently and as a customer I am met with the "sorry that you felt that way". Kindly avoid this website. Their clothes are worse quality than fast fashion and so is customer service.

Poor quality

I bought a lovely gingham skirt from Olive, I was so pleased when it arrived, however after a couple of wears I noticed the seams were coming apart at the waistband. I sent it back for a replacement and one arrived quickly, however exactly the same thing has happened with the new skirt too. It's a gorgeous design but clearly badly made and poor quality. It's not cheap so I would expect better. I don't think the fact that the company only offer one size clothing can help. Such a shame, I won't buy from Olive again.

Reply from Olive (England — NOT Melbourne!)

Dear Sophie,
We're aware of an isolated production run of this skirt that presented with this weakness on the waistband — we're pleased to affirm that this issue has been addressed, and we guarantee a refund or replacement for any case where this has arisen. That's particularly disappointing and embarrassing that you've had a repeat case, and don't hesitate to simply contact customer services for a full refund.

terrible sizing

I really like the designs however the sizing is completely wrong. What do you mean Large = 30" waist ? Just upsetting as I would literally buy so much from here however there's no sort of inclusive sizing across the website. - anything they have for size 14 - 16 is large and shapeless. A huge range of jumpers and thats all.
+++ on a top I liked it says 'this will not suit size 14 or 16' which is even more lovely!
Why bother even having a 14-16 option when you clearly don't believe it's worth catering for

Impressive

Their menswear collection is unique and the pieces are very well constructed, especially the shirts. The prices are fair and the products are shipped same-day. Highly recommend!

Pretty disappointing for the price

Really liked the fact that the packaging was eco friendly and there was no plastic wrapping. However, a little disappointed in the product.

The shape of the hood is very pointy and not the most flattering and I originally intended to return it, but missed the returns window of 14 days. I assumed it would be 28 like most retailers but that was my mistake.

Additionally, I paid £109 for the item I bought (a coat) and for that price, expected great quality. Sadly, they seem to have cut a lot of corners with production and not created seams in some places, including in the pockets, where the lining is literally coming out.
