Wish I'd looked at reviews before buying from them. Website looks very professional, but they're just dropshipping from China. Shirt was sized closer to a medium than the claimed XL. It has cheap whit... See more

Scam
I think this just a scam. I ordered some shoes which haven’t arrived and only get a bot replying
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CON ARTISTS
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CON ARTISTS! This is a scam website. They send absolute trash, then refuse to refund you. Even if you eventually get a returns address, it's in China which costs more than your items to return and even when I did return the items, they refused to accept the return and just sent it back. LOEK VERGOUWE is the person responsible and makes out he's your best friend, he's not. He's a con-man just like the rest of this disgraceful organisation. There should be criminal charges brought against such a blatant racquet, scammers!
Awful quality
Awful quality, barely even worn the shoes and they are falling apart, literally the sole is almost split in two and letting water in. Only kept them because they made it almost impossible to send back for refund.
Learn from my mistake
I ordered from this disreputable company before I looked at Trustpilot.
The web site is very professional and looks the part.
I ordered in Aug 2025 a pure silk shirt that looked very nice in the pictures.
The shirt was nothing like the pictures on the site, poor quality fabric and buttons, was clearly not silk, had no labels to show the composition or washing guide - both labels I would expect on a new garment.
There is no indication on the web site as to where the clothes are shipped from, or where returns have to be sent.
I wanted to return the shirt as it was not what I ordered. This whren I was told by old monarchy I would have to return the shirt to the Netherlands at my own cost.... I argued this with the company as it seems very unfair I should incur the return cost for something not as described on the site. They would not budge or accept the item was not what I ordered. They simply restated their returns policy. I said I would return the shirt when they sent a returns label. They refused to do so.
I contacted American Express to dispute the transaction, explaining that the shirt sent was not what I had ordered. Amex refunded my purchase price pending further investigation. Some six weeks later Amex advised me they had recharged my account with the cost of the shirt as old monarchy has provided Amex their returns policy. I was told that unless I could provide Amex with proof of returning the shirt they would uphold the old monarchy claim.
Very disappointing.
It seems old monarchy have found a way of selling sub standard goods to customers, and are backed by Amex because they have a returns policy that states the customer must pay the returns cost eventhough they sent an item that did not in any way match what was shown on their web site.
Very disappointed with Amax for letting a company operate in this way.
I'm an 84 year old and ordered sandals
This Co doesn't deserve one star but I couldn't go further on your site. I'm an 84 year old and ordered sandals. They sent the wrong size. I had never seen such poor quality. I tried to re-order the correct size and wanted to return them and pay the difference for a more expensive sandal which seemed to look like better quality! Monarch wanted me to pay and return the incorrect size sandals to China at my own expense! I told them there was nothing on their Monarch website suggesting any connection with China when I placed my order. BE WARNED, the Monarch website is most impressive and when you pay by credit card the protection only kicks in if you spend over a £100. Monarch know my age and they couldn't care less they have scammed an OAP!

I can’t leave a zero rating otherwise I would. Do not use this company. I’m lucky to have paid via credit card and my bank was able to issue a full refund for goods not sold as seen. A scam. Terrible quality. Poorly made. Straight in the bin. They even tried to charge me to send their rags back to China to replace. The guy who emailed me is all over TikTok bragging about making $$$$ from drop shipping. Steer well clear. I’m so embarrassed that I was scammed.
Total scammers
Total scammers. Chinese company operating through a European shell company and website. Website looks smart and credible. HQ based in Netherlands (although) during dispute when I offered to send clothes there, I was told it had conveniently closed?!
Advertised images look like AI and there’s always a permanent sale, for the uninitiated. So they use every trick in the book to lure buyers in.
Goods are completely sub-standard in material and design, nothing like image.
When you try to return and politely decline the discounts offered, they ignore you! Until your bank disputes the request, then they are all over you.
They do everything possible to offer discounts to avoid disclosing returns must go to China, which they conceal, as otherwise you wouldn’t buy.
Clothes so bad you couldn’t resell even if you wanted to,
These companies are becoming more common place, and migrating away from platforms like Amazon and AliBaba. Trust Pilot is essential in this respect.
If I could give less than a one I would…
If I could give less than a one I would I bought some shoes from this company. They sent the wrong size. They refused to give me a refund. They kept giving me offers of partial refund. If I kept the shoes the shoes were in very poor quality and eventually when I said I would not accept a refund unless it was 100% they told me to that I would only receive this if I posted. The shoes back to China it says nothing on their website about them being a Chinese company. I feel that they miss advertised the quality of the product and whether their company was based as the website states it based in Europe.
I still have not received any refund.
Do not buy from them!!
Do not buy from them!!
Item was cheap, delivery was late and over 15 emails with photo proof to get a return address.
Item was sent back at £15 delivery to china when they say they are Europe based and nearly two months on without a refund as they say they cannot find the item. £60 out of pocket on a item worth £20 max
Scam website from China
I had exactly the same experience as others. Bought two pairs of shoes which arrived in a plastic bag, no box - wrong size and terrible quality. Tried to return, offers to keep at 10% discount back and forth to 30% discount. Reported to Barclaycard along with my emails and screenshots of the website and they refunded my order. Will never order from an unknown website again!
BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Sent shorts that are were too small, like.. child sized. Very cheap feeling material. Refused to exchanged as I missed the 30 day window. No willingness to support over the internet. Bad experience. Will avoid this brand. I see now they have terrible reviews.
DANGER!
DANGER!! This company is a scam. They don't accept returns for the shitty products they provide. Lloyds said to me that they have enough evidence to continue my claim. Do not leave them in peace, chase them with any legal tool you can use until you get your moneyback. They are LIERS THIEVES!!!!
I can't comment on the quality of the…
I can't comment on the quality of the shoes, but my three pairs of shoes that I ordered in July are still hanging in the air. I DIDN'T RECEIVE MY ORDER!!! Obviously NO REFUND! The customer service is sending the updates, but NOTHING happens.
Complete scammers!
Shoes sent were wrong size
Shoes sent were wrong size and cheaply made, nothing like website. Not aware they were coming from China.
Told that I’d have to pay £10 to replace with right size although not my fault. Waste of £34.95. Suggest folks avoid this company.
Awful
Awful! Do not buy from this ‘store’, it’s a scam, he buys from Temu and resells
The items. It takes over four weeks to arrive. It arrives wraps in a plastic bag and is poorly packed from China, even though the shops address has a European address!
Avoid at all costs! Terrible service and clearly a scam!
You can all get a chargeback
Everybody - ask your bank for a chargeback. You have proof that this company is a scam. I got one and Old Monarchy tried to argue it. My bank said they have enough evidence to allow me to keep my money. Ask for a chargeback!
A follow up to my post of September…
A follow up to my post of September 7th. Since my charge back was instigated on 31st August I have received grovelling e mails (AI) from Old Monarchy, offering me 50% (up from 20/30&40%) that I can keep the clothes, and get a refund if I send them to China at a cost of 20/30% to me!!
I forwarded all this communication to my card provider over the last two weeks, as Old Monarchy are trying to wriggle out of the chargeback. Now I am receiving e mails daily saying “if you I drop the charge
back from your end we will refund you the full amount”……….I think we all know where that one will go. So no I will no drop the case, the card provider has more than enough evidence in my case as must be the case with other folk. The more people press for chargeback the better as then Mastercard and Visa will surely be in no doubt that they are SCAMMERS.
Absolute SCAM
Absolute SCAM. Products not as shown or described, come direct from cheap suppliers (Temu?) in China. Returns policy is a sham, endless emails offering increased levels of discount. Eventually got my money back from credit card company. DO NOT USE!
Absolutely awful experience
Absolutely awful experience. I ordered some shoes and were sent some several sizes smaller than ordered. After doing as requested to replace them, twice, and emailing a reminder, twice, I had still not received a returns label. After 3 months they offered me a 30% refund (rather than replacement), which became 50%. So after 3+ months, I have lost £25 and have a useless pair of shoes going to a charity shop
I agree with all the aforementioned…
I agree with all the aforementioned mentioned reviews. Total scam. Received a blouse - did not resemble at all what I ordered, quality is total tat. Tried to return and had offers of keeping blouse (no thanks) with varying offers of refunds ranging from 10 percent up to 30 percent. (No thanks) final offer was total refund less £25 postage charge. As I paid by credit card I am waiting for a hopeful charge back. It’s worth a try. Learnt m y lesson to check trust pilot reviews !
