Royal Commission of Inquiry Urgently Needed

Ofgem is not a regulator. It is essentially an enforcer of energy companies, to ensure they make as much profit as possible. They are completely compromised, and a royal commission should be immediately conducted into Ofgem.

Jonathan Brearley you should be ashamed…

Jonathan Brearley you should be ashamed of yourself. You are earning in excess of £300000 at the expense of the British public. Whilst we are having to choose between heating and eating, shame on you.

How can we pay these prices!

How can we pay these energy bill increases when we were already struggling! This will harm me and many of the people living around my area, it will see children going hungry and pensioners going cold. This is unfair when the profits made by the same companies destroying us are going waste in rich peoples bank accounts.

Thousands of elderly and less fortunate…

Thousands of elderly and less fortunate people will die this year if the prices are not lowered. I hope the profit is worth it for ofgem and I hope the higher ups are proud of the choices they make from their comfortable abodes and profit rich jobs.

Words can not describe how disgusting…

Words can not describe how disgusting this company is. How can they expect the general population to be able to afford upwards of 3500.00 per annum for gas and electric??? We are a northern country and are relaint on light and heat and this needs to be sensibly priced. I thought that the majority of our electricty was produced by wind which is obviously free so why is it so expensive?? Absolute joke #dontpayuk

Ofgem exist purely for the benefits of those working in the energy sector. They ensure that this tiny minority of individuals continue to experience a high profits and accompanying standard of living while the vast majority of people struggle.
In short, Ofgem only care about the energy suppliers and not ordinary hard working people. Shame on them. I don’t know how they sleep at night.

What's the point of ofgem?!!

As part of the goverment, Ofgem is suppose to help people, but as the goverment, they only care about the well being of big corporations, so they're playing along with the price hike, disregarding the realitty in which, us , regular people, will srtuggle to heat our homes for the years to come. What's the point of a regulator, if it doesn't fit it's purpose??!!! How come, in a financial crisiss the companies are making record profits, in the same time, everybody else is struglling?!!!! A total disgrace and utterly usseless regulator

Absolute joke of a regulator

Absolute joke of a regulator. No care for the people but lining the pockets of themselves, the government and the CEOs of the Energy companies. When families are struggling whilst record profits are announce, you know this country is a shambles!!

Price Cap

How am I meant to explain to my children why we can either choose to eat or heat our homes this winter.
Ofgem seem to be more interested in protecting profits rather than protecting people.

Absolute disgrace

Absolute disgrace, increasing the price cap which are not adequate to the cost of living for so many. Totally inappropriate taking into account the profit they make. I hope people who freeze this winter will go on the street to show further disapproval and this government will finally change something for the better not worst.

Pure greed and corruption with no thoughts to the general public.

This company has no care for the general public, they have increased the price of electric and gas by 3x in this year alone. They don't care that people will freeze to death with no heating, or that people will die of starvation because they are unable to pay for the electric and gas to cook their food either.

If they had just the slightest but of compassion they would not be allowing the cap to be this high.

They must be run by members of the Conservative party.

As helpful as a chocolate teapot

Actually that title isn't strictly true, because a chocolate teapot will at least serve two purposes this October, unlike the kettle which we won't be able to afford to put on thanks to Government inaction and Ofgem lunacy with price rises. Pushing millions into fuel poverty, thousands will die over winter, and those in power seem to not care at all.

Price cap

Why are you allowing the price cap to be raised to levels that will leave so many either starving freeezing or both?
You are unleashing misery without shame or compassion.

Most useless regulator in the history…

Most useless regulator in the history of regulation.
When about half of UK gas consumption comes from UK gas production, setting a price "cap" (hah!) on the basis of 100% imported gas is absolutely bananas.
Corrupt, morally bankrupt institution with literally no redeeming features.
