Don’t use. Rip off

Don’t use - you’ll lose your money. Fees, fees, fees. They have lost me 100’s thousands. I had to take my money out to cut my losses they still charged me £50k to take the money out. I wish I’d never heard of them.

Good service (Investments)

This seems to be a mash of two services Octopus Investments and Octopus Choice. I am reviewing the investments part. (“Choice” I have not used but it seems to have a different website so should have its own Trustpilot page surely?)

Investments: Came here to praise their service for being head and shoulders above most other VCTs with the possible exception of YFM. Their recent decision to work around postal strikes affecting the Titan VCT buyback is a good example of this.

Octopus have lost my money

Octopus closed their ISA facility and for months I have been trying to transfer my 2 Octopus ISAs to Vanguard. One has been transferred. The other has disappeared. Octopus say my account has closed. Vanguard have only received the money from one. I appear to have lost over £111k. I am sure this should be rectified but the whole process is very frustrating, worrying and communication has been appalling. I will be making a complaint to the financial conduct authority.

Personal data breach and concerns about cash control

Last week I logged onto my Octopus Choice account to find that I could see the personal and account details of scores of other Octopus Choice clients; including email addresses, the value of their holdings, transaction history, etc! It looked as if I was just a click away from being able to access more sensitive information such as their bank account details!
In my mind, it begs the question, if they can't look after our personal data adequately, then how can we trust them with our money?
After our IFA has taken his cut, the net returns are not worth the risk of investing in this product a far as I'm concerned.
