Very disappointing experience with OCR Car Rentals.
The vehicle I was provided had significant engine noise at highway speeds to the point it felt dangerous to drive. I reported this immediately and was instructed to return the vehicle the next morning from Brisbane to the Gold Coast for a replacement.
While already on my way, I was contacted 10 minutes before the scheduled exchange time and told no replacement vehicle was available at that location and I would need to go to a different branch instead. This turned what was already a 2+ hour trip into a longer and more inconvenient process.
Although a replacement vehicle was eventually provided, I was then charged a refuelling fee ($100) because the original vehicle wasn’t returned with a full tank — despite the fact the fuel used was to return a faulty vehicle and travelling to the revised location as directed by their team.
When I raised this, the company refused to waive or adjust the charge and extremely rude.
Overall, the handling of the situation was poor. There was no accountability for the condition of the original vehicle, and no reasonable consideration given to the inconvenience and extra costs incurred as a result of resolving the issue.
I would recommend carefully considering alternative providers, particularly if reliability and customer support are important to you.
