I purchased a bed frame and two bedside tables from Oak Furniture Store NZ in June 2026. The experience has been deeply disappointing from start to finish.
At the time of purchase, the product pages displayed a free shipping promotion with no visible conditions. It was only after completing my order that I was told the promotion applied to in-stock items only, a condition that was not clearly displayed on the product pages where the promotion was shown.
The estimated delivery timeframe at purchase was mid to end of June. It is now mid-July and I still have not received my items. When I followed up, I was simply given a new vague ETA with no firm dates provided despite multiple requests.
When I requested a refund due to the significant delay, I was refused and told their Terms and Conditions do not allow cancellations. I had to inform them that consumer rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 cannot be overridden by store terms and conditions.
I have since filed a claim with the Disputes Tribunal. I would caution anyone considering purchasing from this store, particularly for back-order items, to be aware of these issues before committing.
