I booked with Nirvana Travel for the 2025 AJ Bell Great North Run coach, departing Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station at 12:30 on Saturday, 6th September. Unfortunately, the coach left without me, meaning I was unable to use the service.
The driver failed to contact me before leaving, which I feel is unacceptable. I was later told I could take a taxi to the M1 services and would be refunded for this, but I did not feel comfortable with that option — on a previous occasion, the same driver had left before the scheduled departure time. Instead, I had to drive myself, incurring fuel and parking costs.
Despite sending three emails (starting 8th September) and a follow-up phone call on 15th September, Nirvana Travel have refused to refund me or reimburse my expenses.
The service I paid for was not provided, the driver made no attempt to contact me, and the alternative offered was neither safe nor reliable. With the cost of living so high at the moment, being left out of pocket through no fault of my own is especially frustrating and disappointing.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking with Nirvana Travel.
