Very satisfied with website

We are very satisfied with the collaboration for the launch of our website. Communication was clear and professional from the start. Frederic was our main point of contact and provided excellent follow-up throughout the entire process. Questions were handled quickly and solutions were proposed proactively. Thanks to the strong guidance and involvement, the website was launched smoothly and correctly. We would definitely recommend working with this team.

Deeply regret hiring Nothera (Jadeite Studio).

I rarely leave reviews, but I don’t want anyone else repeating my mistake. I spent roughly US$2,800 with this agency, it was nowhere near affordable and the process was painful.

Their invoicing is automated, so I was paying for things that hadn't been completed even when flagging this with them. Once they have your card details, they'll just keep charging you.

I was passed from one person to another with no briefing in between. Key (and dare I say basic) details we’d already agreed on were missed, so the project kept sliding backwards.

The first draft looked nothing like what we’d scoped. I asked for it to be brought in line with our agreement and was told that counted as a paid “revision.” Seriously?

Because they misunderstood core web-dev basics & Shopify which they claim to “specialise” in, they made some costly errors, which I had to pay for (US$400).

My emails were clearly skimmed (or run through an AI bot). Questions went unanswered, points were missed, and the thread stretched on forever. I'll note that the communications they did draft were unprofessional and in broken English. This includes some of the branding work that was done, especially the Brand Voice... shocking.

Promises arrived fast, follow-through never did. Get every word in writing, because verbal assurances evaporate overnight.

We started via Fiverr. As soon as they convinced me to move the project outside that safety net, the workmanship and accountability crashed. The quality nosedived off platform as they took advantage of someone trusting like me who was juggling a new business and a newborn.

Bottom line: The time, stress, and extra cash I spent fixing their errors far outweighed any convenience they promised. Spend your budget anywhere but here.

Note this business may be registered in the US but this business is made up of a few digital nomads who aren't actually held accountable in any way.

Edit to add: I see that since posting my review it has been replied to. Them using their team members’ passing as the reason for the delays (which started occurring well before this individual passed) says enough about this business and the validity of their response.

Hi Marie-Claire,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry this experience wasn’t what you hoped for, and we’d like to offer some clarity for those reading here

- Branding Project – Successfully Delivered
You purchased our Premium Branding Package for $1,250 USD, which included a custom logo, full brand guidelines, iconography, patterns, stationery, and a social media kit.

You expressed satisfaction with the design direction, saying:

“Great work! Thank you so much. My favourite is the first concept... I really like the work that has been done. It looks really good.”

We also actioned detailed feedback about fonts, iconography, stock imagery, and print items — all of which were implemented and delivered as requested.

- Website Build – Timeline & Theme Licensing
We agreed on a $1,500 USD Shopify website, with a premium template-based approach to stay within your budget. The proposal clearly outlined payment timelines and was signed and funded by you via Stripe.

If there were concerns about payment structure or scope, these could have been raised before signing and paying the invoice.

To reduce cost, the site was built in our Shopify Partner account — standard industry practice — and was ready to be transferred when complete.

You had previously purchased a Shopify subscription independently (in February) and invited us to join your store. Unfortunately, we missed that invite in our mailbox, which was brought to our attention again when the theme was purchased and installed.

Due to Shopify’s platform rules, the theme license (used in our build) is one-time only and cannot be reused or transferred. Shopify also doesn’t allow subscriptions to be moved between accounts.

We offered solutions, but Shopify Support was not willing to accomodate, you requested a full refund of the subscription you bought (+373 USD incl. Tax)
We offered a partial refund of $160 USD— calculated by:
- Subtracting 3 months of which you bought the subscription before launch of the website
- Refunding 50% of that amount

You later requested a full refund of the original subscription and additional costs related to Shopify’s new pricing (400 USD). We respectfully declined. The review was posted just a few hours after that final message.

- Communications & Progress
The decision to sign the proposal with a clear mention of payment dates was approved and signed by you. The invoice following for that, with the payment dates clearly mentioned, was funded by a credit card by you.
No hidden or recurring charges were used — this was transparently outlined in both the proposal and invoice, which you signed freely.

Yes, we did face a short delay due to a team member’s sudden passing, but we resumed and completed all work. This was communicated respectfully at the time.

- A Final Note
Since your project began, we’ve completed numerous other branding and web design projects, earning excellent reviews from other clients. We remain committed to professional delivery, transparent pricing, and creative excellence.

We regret this didn’t end as smoothly as it began, and we still wish you all the best with your new venture.

Exceptional Service and Attention to Detail

I worked with this company to develop a brand identity for my new business. Luke was fantastic — he was patient with me and took the time to answer all my questions. They delivered a well-presented document within the expected timeframe, and they were open to our suggestions, making adjustments to the brand identity document as needed. Even afterwards, whenever we had questions, Luke responded to my messages promptly. We would highly recommend Northera and would be happy to work with them again on future projects.

Full packet of brand and marketing materials by Northera

We engaged Northera to build our website, marketing collaterals, and style guide. The team went over and above to first help understand core principles of marketing (as they applied to our brand and the colors and icons relevant to us) and then to implement these principles across the full suit of collaterals they developed for us. The result is a clean and consistent set of marketing tools, ranging from core style guide all the way to completed website, PPTs, business cards, and letterhead. We were thrilled with the pace of delivery and the tailored support we got throughout the entire process

re-design website language school

For our Language school we had to redesign ansd restructure the website. I was really surprised by the speed and efficiency that they executed the whole process. Afterwards the project manager was also very flexible in implementing some additional changes and modifications after the acceptance. This I considered a really nice plus of the company to do. Very smooth contacts. Can definitly recommand for all website implementations. My best online experience for our website implementation

Overpromised, Underdelivered, and Charged Without Consent – A Costly Mistake

I hired this company to support the launch of my new business and book by building my brand kit and website. While the branding kit was passable, the website experience was a complete letdown.

I was promised a live, working website and guidance to get it up and running. Instead, I received a half-built site dumped onto a hosting platform—then nothing. No support, no proper handover, no usable website. When the hosting expired (due to lack of guidance), the site disappeared altogether.

Even worse, the company charged my credit card for the final payment without my authorisation, despite me raising concerns. I had never consented to that charge, and it felt like a final blow after weeks of poor communication and broken promises.

Luke, the person I trusted, made multiple verbal commitments—like helping connect my domain, offering post-launch support, and walking me through the process. None of those were honoured. When I questioned this, I was told they were never included in the proposal. The gaslighting was real.

The most painful part? I paid nearly $2,000 for a website I never received and have now had to spend another $650 to rebuild it properly with a provider who is transparent, professional, and supportive. The contrast in both cost and experience is staggering.

I feel completely taken advantage of, especially as someone without a tech background who relied on this company to act in good faith. Instead, I was left delayed, out of pocket, and extremely disappointed.

If you're not highly technical and need a provider you can actually trust—look elsewhere.

Northera was great - perfect for small biz owners

The Northera team was competent, professional, responsive and creative in designing and building my Squarespace fine art e-commerce website from scratch, as well as logo and branding development, tailored to my preferences and business needs. I wholeheartedly recommend them, particularly for small start-ups and kitchen table “solopreneurs” like me.
