I previously worked several terms in NORWAY as a GP consultant, but not in this part of the country.
So it was great to be recruited by NORDVIK for just a couple of weeks in November, to get aquainted with the region.
The NORDVIK service was friendly and appropriate. After interview and check-up with references an agreement could be signed.
Excellent introduction material was then sent by mail and on-line lectures by an experienced collegue to review the Norwegian system (takster, NAV, Helfo) were provided.
I took another HLR-course.
The journey was planned.Arriving from a holiday I travelled by Arlanda Express to Stockholm where I caught the evening train to Oslo. Arriving late I stayed at Cochs pensjonat. Next day I continued by train (En Tur). It was a cosy and comfortable 6 hr ride. All expenses covered.
At arrival the "avdelingsleder" herself met at the station, she presented the office and the flat and lent me a car to use during the stay.
The first morning I went to the tax authority to get my D-number. The morning was black, it was snowing, and melting simultanously. The landscape impressive. I had an accident due to the summertyres, but luckily wasn´t injured!
So do check that the car has winter tyres at this time of the year!!!
In the afternoon a helpful collegue introduced me to the IT-system. The agreement included one "legevakt" a week, which I appreciated. And as collegues generously and flexibly shared their "vakts", I was able to be "legevakt" 10 out of 14 days in the community!
I am so grateful for this gorgeous experience!
Compared to where I normally work Norwegian patients are more polite, less arrogant and easier to help, the staff is helpful and the referral system effective.
I do recommend working with NORDVIK in NORWAY
