I traveled to Norway with 2 sisters and a cousin. Susie was so helpful with planning our trip. We had a couple of issues that came up and Susie was able to accomodate our needs.
Our trip went without one problem. Everything was as Susie said it would be. We had a wonderful tour guide in Norway. Such a beautiful country and we saw so much of it. Over 1000 miles traveled and we went through 138 tunnels. I would travel again through Susie. She was great.
Thank you again Susie.
We had an fantastic time in Norway and Sweden. All of the tours were very enjoyable and the guides were excellent. All accommodations were as promised and all the hotels were very nice. Susie at Nordic Saga Tours was incredibly helpful and made the trip a success. I would highly recommend the services I received.
Susie Main arranged a journey that included a train ride plus from Oslo to Bergen, a Hurtigruten ferry trip from Bergen to Kirkenes and subsequent travel to Germany. Good airline connections and convenient hotel stays made a somewhat complicated journey easy. Thank you for a great Norway experience!
Norway was one of the most beautiful places in the world!! I absolutely LOVED the country, however the tour I took was not as ideal as the country itself. We spent way too much time in these gigantic busses, it would have been nicer if they used smaller vans.
Despite the rather expensive cost of the tour, they charged us for bottled water!!! Overall, the food they served us was terrible, and I would have liked to spend way less time eating at these terrible, cheap buffets and more time out in nature. Our guide was informative, but not overly friendly, & sometimes even rude. Also, the owner of the company was on the tour with us, & she also, was not very warm, & was often given the keys to her room before the guests! This was after very long exhausting bus rides. Overall, Norway was amazing! I highly recommend it. The tour itself, & the guides, and the travel agent that booked us, all need a little polishing.
Skiing across Finland last March was fantastic and beyond expectations. I loved the challenge, the people and the journey. Thank you Nordic Saga for helping make my 50th birthday celebration so memorable.
Nordic Saga Seattle office-It was one of the worst experiences I have had with a travel company. A couple of times I got my questions answered. The majority of the time the woman was just rude and/or difficult to work with. It may be time for her to retire. I purchased a couple of extra excursions one week before the trip and they were more expensive than if I just bought it there. She told me I was getting a "discount" buying with her. I ended up calling the President of the company, Dora. She was very helpful and professional. If you are going to work with Nordic Saga, only work with her, or do not use them.
Nordic Saga booked me with the Borealis company for travel in Scandinavia. It was the most amazing experience. The tour guide Stephanie was very knowledgeable and made the whole trip so enjoyable. It was a great company to book a trip to Scandinavia with.
If you are going to Russia do not let anyone book you with Baltic Vision.
It is the most unprofessional and low-end company. The tour guides are on the phone or smoking most of the time. They are not helpful. They hand you half of a city map and you are on your own. You might as well plan the trip yourself. The company has "extra" excursions if you want to purchase. The excursions were so overpriced, it was ridiculous.
You are also booked in with people from other countries that speak another language. You have to listen to everything getting repeated in two other languages.
Find another travel company for Russia or do it on your own.
The trip itself was comprehensive & well planned. Our guide Anna was excellent - a great source of information and very solicitous of all of us, especially my husband who had mobility problems.
It was a different tour than others we have taken in that all the travelers do not begin & end @ the same destination. Indeed, although they are booked through various tour companies: Nordic Saga, AAA, etc., these companies apparently subcontract with Robinson who conducts the tour. Also, the size of the group changed depending on how many had joined us for what length of the tour. That did not affect the quality of the tour, but it did impact the fellow travelers you met & for how long.
My only serious complaint is the quality of service in economy on SAS Airlines - suffice it to say we will not fly with them again.
Thanks,
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nordic Saga to anyone. Alex from EWT was extremely helpful looking after everything for us. We had no trouble whatsoever with any of the accommodations and one amazing trip!
I will certainly recommend the Hurtigruten cruise to all of my friends.
The help I got from Susie Main was exceptional.
The ship was comfortable, staff most obliging and the company was stimulating. I found the shore excursions fascinating and would repeat the trip in a couple of years.
The tour operator, NORDIC SAGA, advertised and delivered everything promised.
I was very pleased with the rapid communications between myself and the tour office. The tour itself was better than expected. Our tour guide was a born local and added much more to the tour. The accommodations and meals were excellent. The extras the tour guide gave us during down times added significantly to our touring experience. The weather was crazy but just added some additional fun to the trip. The people of Iceland are all just wonderful and really made the tour special. Thanks
We did Norway in a Nutshell and booked through Nordic Saga. Susie Main was most helpful and delivered needed documents on time and without a hitch. The sights were breathtaking and the hotel in Flam was great.
My wife and I were extremely impressed with the organization and service of our Iceland tour. The itinerary and sites we visited were memorable leaving us with a desire to visit again. Our guide was outstanding with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the country. All scheduling was efficient. We would recommend Nordic Saga to anyone considering a visit to Iceland.
The Splendor of the Fjords was one of the best tours I have ever taken. Not only did the group view the spectacular vistas of Norway with its majestic peaks and fjords, we were guided by an outstanding tour guide who provided the tour group with important information about the country and its culture. He added humor to his remarks to make for enjoyable presentations. The hotels we visited were wonderful and the food was excellent. What a treat to be a part of such an interesting, beautiful and enjoyable tour.
Nordic Saga facilitated our participation in the Splendor of the Fjords tour and responded to questions/concerns in a timely manner during the planning process. Specifically, we worked with Susie Main, Operations Manager, who was helpful up to the time of our departure.
Nordic Saga (Susie Main) also arranged for my husband and me to travel independently to Helsinki, board a ferry to St. Petersburg and then return to Helsinki prior to our departure to the U.S. She arranged our hotels and transportation in Helsinki and St. Petersburg She also arranged for a private tour guide who showed us the major landmarks of the city and on the following day provided us with a guided tour of the highlights of The Hermitage State Museum.
We could not have had more enjoyable and interesting tours than what was offered and planned by Nordic Saga. I hope to be able to travel with them again within the near future.
We visited Iceland last fall. The trip was arranged by Alex with Nordic Saga Tours. At first we were not sure which route to go but he convinced us to join a small group escorted program Volcanoes and Glaciers. First of all travelling in the end of September was a great idea. Alex advised us that this was a good time to visit Iceland because there weren't so many tourists and we could see Northern Lights which we actually did! There were only 8 people in our group and we had an amazing guided Siggi who shared with us her knowledge and love for Iceland. All hotels were great, clean rooms and great service, tasty breakfast. I can't say enough about this experience and I recommend this tour and Alex from Nordic Saga who plans to visit Iceland. Felix Taskar
We booked our trip to Iceland through Nordic Saga Tours last January. The agency booked our airfare from Seattle to Reykjavik and helped us with planning a 5-day program including transfers, comfortable and inexpensive accommodations at Fosshotel Baron and daily sightseeing tours and activities. Our favorite was a visit to Thingvelir National Park and snorkeling in the Continental divide. Overall, thanks to Nordic Saga Tours it was one of the most memorable trips we have ever been on. Our agent Dora Rozet was friendly and knowledgeable, and spent time ensuring that our trip would be the most memorable we’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend Nordic Saga to anyone looking to travel to Iceland.
Alex,
I just want to thank you so much for all of your help. The trip was absolutely perfect, well planned, wonderfully hosted by the guide and a trip of a life time. Thank you so much for all of your help. It was a real bargain for us considering what all it included. I will happily fill out the survey and mention all the kind people that were involved with our vacation! thanks again! Pam Kelly (plus Gwen and Banks Scudder)
Suzanne, our trip guide, from Copenhagen was delightful and our bus driver, Bo, could not have been nicer! Thanks so much!

My sister and I were on her son's senior trip to Europe, we added a week to the end of it and went to Helsinki and St. Petersburg. We stayed at the Scandic Marski in Helsinki which was a wonderful place with a fantastic staff and is in THE BEST location possible. We took the Princess Maria overnight ferry to and from St. Petersburg. It's a beautiful and well kept ship, very clean and comfortable. In St. Petersburg we stayed at the Solo Sokos Vasilievsky, another beautiful hotel in a great location with a fantastic staff. This place also has a fantastic restaurant. In a month of touring Europe that included France, Italy and Greece (amongst others), our dinner here was the best meal of the whole trip. The breakfast buffet here is also outstanding.
We booked our tour with Alex, who is a ROCK STAR. He answered my questions, promptly returned emails and phone calls, gave great advice and picked beautiful hotels in wonderful locations at reasonable prices. I very much appreciated the continued service even after his job was done. Everything was paid for, I had my reservations and documents, and Alex still treated me like he was trying to earn my business.
Our guide in St. Petersburg was MASHA GANINA, who is also a rock star. Her encyclopedic knowledge, passion for sharing it and warm and kind personality made our whole trip. Leading up to this segment of our vacation, we had 3 weeks of tour guides under our belt, hands down Masha was the best we had. She knows EVERYTHING and sharing her love for St. Petersburg and Russia gives her a joy you can see on her face and hear in her voice. Everyone should love their job so much and be so good at it.
One thing Masha mentioned to us is that people are afraid to travel to Russia. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city with a fascinating story. I studied the architecture here while i was in college, but i didn't really study the people. Masha made history come alive for me, and the people in St. Petersburg that we encountered were so nice, happy to be helpful, and a lot of fun. I never felt unsafe or insecure. I would tell anyone thinking about visiting that however they need to make it happen, make it happen. It's a beautiful vibrant place. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm so grateful that I took it, and so happy my sister shared it with me. I would encourage everyone to visit Russia, with Masha as their guide and Alex as their travel agent.
Additionally, both my sister and I LOVED Helsinki. Warm and wonderful people, clean and safe with lots to see... but truly, it was a pleasure just to browse the market. I'd love to go back.
