Best spa in the UK
We had a wonderful experience at Nirvana Spa when we visited as a family in December - a blissful escape from the pre-Christmas rush! The customer service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left at the end of the day. We were able to relax in the beautiful Colosseum Suite, Tepidarium and Hydrotherapy Pool, and the lunch was great. We will definitely be back - we are planning to take out Spa Club 6 memberships as a result of this visit.

Great spa
Great spa, surely one of the best in the UK. Loads of different pools and experiences.

Disappointing
I’ve visited the spa at least twice a year for the last 10 years and my most recent visit (December 2024) was really disappointing. The price has rocketed and in addition there is a service charge applied at checkout. Limited inclusive soft drink options.
The facial was excellent but the hour long massage frankly traumatising. After asking for medium pressure the therapist firmly stated she had one setting, firm, and the whole experience was painful and not enjoyable at all. I had visible bruising the following morning and ached all over. I had to say it was painful three times during the massage but this appeared to be dismissed. Such a shame as treatments have previously been excellent. Food was also bland and the staff disinterested.

Just had a relaxing and lovely day…
Just had a relaxing and lovely day here, I have been to Nirvana several times over the past 5 years & absolutely love it. The only couple of things which are negative is the 2 course menu. Salad bar is great, but the 2nd part is always either Indian or Thai food which is nice but very limited. More variation would be more popular. Also the amount of toilets. For ladies (not sure about the men's!) There are 6 toilets for the whole of the Spa which is always busy and you end up queuing for them. Otherwise a great place and we're coming back in January for my fiancé's birthday.

Disappointing visit
Been a regular at this Spa but after today’s experience won’t be back. We were asked at the table in restaurant - you ready to order -what do you want !!! Cutlery slung on the table. Limited soft drinks now - some only available if you pay. Hot food at salad bar only Indian - no veggie options / cheese or bread available. Cake prices should be displayed and only two types of cake available and when we enquired do you have any other types of cake - were told that’s all we have at the moment. It was clear that they wanted this gone before refilling the stand. Reception staff lovely but the restaurant staff surly and disinterested

Lesser experience for more money?
Having been a regular (once or twice a year) visitor to Nirvana for 8+ years, I was left disappointed after my most recent visit (21/11).
The cost of day spa package has risen, understandably, however this time I found that the soft drink offering is now limited to fruit juice (apple, orange, cranberry, pineapple) or cans of fizzy drinks.
Gone are the coconut water, or frobishers juices - well unless you want to pay £3.50 a bottle.
Disappointing to see reduced options on a more expensive visit.

Great Spa but Food not so Great
This is a lovely, Clean spa with very friendly helpful staff. It wasn't too busy and felt very relaxed.
The only criticism I have is that the food was quite poor. The Guacamole was 'Very Fizzy' and didn't taste fresh at all. The selection poor and not good value for money.

I came last night Oct 8th 2024 with my 3 daughters we had the serene relaxation package each so you're talking about £500 between us .The facilities and pools were all lovely and the staff all friendly and smiley apart from the Indian guy serving the hot food in the salad bar ,myself and one of my daughters opted for the 2 course salad bar however when we went back for the 2nd course which was mash veg and chicken casserole the portion he gave us was tiny and when my daughter asked for a bit more mashed potatoes he gave her such a look of disgust we were shocked . !!!!

Bad service
Bad service - rude staff . General Manage is extremely arrogant .
Food is nice but very expensive.
Locker rooms are awful - you can’t get any lockers at busy times . Mangers response is totally fabricated .

Bliss- only an hour from London!
I had a fantastic time at this beautiful spa. I came for the evening experience- and 5 hours flew by!! I live over an hour away and will be buying the 3 Spa Day membership . However I cannot see anywhere to find out if that includes any food/ drinks or discounts on them and the treatments .
As a vegetarian allergic to eggs, there were a few options . Maybe a cheeseboard with bread/ crackers /butters/ condiments would be a nice touch at the salad bar.
I'm still feeling zenned out from this blissful experience.
Only criticism is that the shower cubicals are tiny, and not enough hooks outside to hang items without them getting wet within the cubicles. We will be returning again- I can't wait for another mini break/ recharge !

AVOID! Food poisoning for several people!
After visiting recently myself and my partner straight after eating both got hugely unwell with food poisoning and had to cut our visit short due to this.
After this happened and I posted on social media I was contacted by 4 others who had the exact same experience with one ending up in hospital!
I of course contacted nirvana who refused to refund and said they’d received no other complaints even though I know other people have. I have also seen similar reviews on trust pilot since!
Nirvana have lost loyal customers in us for clearly disgusting hygiene and terrible customer service.

I enjoyed my visit but it is quite apparent that the management treat their staff appallingly, never listening to their concerns nor offering support when required. Real shame!

I really want to give it more stars but had the worst week of food poisoning after visiting on 23.05.24. The welcome desk ladies were amazing, the explanation of the map was very helpful, the floating experience was relaxing, the trial of products after was a nice touch, loved the lemonade included in the price, however the restaurant staff was very slow and didn’t bring us the bread we ordered. When we asked for it (while we were already eating our dinner) it arrived and we were told that the bread would be taken off our bill - it wasn’t as at check out it came up as an item to pay for. Also I became violently sick 🤢 straight after dinner and it lasted a few days.

**AVOID NIRVANA SPA: RUINED BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE DUE TO NEGLIGENCE AND UNPROFESSIONALISM**
I accompanied my friend to Nirvana Spa on her birthday, anticipating a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, the visit was marred by negligence and unprofessional behavior from the staff, leading to a highly distressing experience.
From the outset, the front desk staff were rude and unwelcoming. Despite notifying the spa about my friend's nut allergy in advance, there was a clear lack of communication among the staff, resulting in uncertainty about product ingredients. This led to my friend being forced to sign a rushed waiver without being shown the product ingredients, which is unacceptable for a business that should prioritize customer safety.
Additionally, the level of service we received was below standard. The staff were unprofessional and dismissive. Despite my friend’s visible discomfort and distress, the staff showed little empathy or willingness to assist. The overall lack of hospitality in an establishment centered around customer care and relaxation was astonishing.
The incident was reported to the operations manager through an incident report. However, the response was insufficient and dismissive, with the manager appearing more eager to leave than to address the issue properly. This further compounded our negative experience, as it was clear that our concerns were not being taken seriously.
The distress and discomfort caused by this experience have left us deeply disappointed. We urge Nirvana Spa to thoroughly investigate this incident, retrain their staff, and implement stricter protocols to prevent similar occurrences. Despite requesting a formal explanation, apology, and compensation for the distress and inconvenience caused, the matter remains unresolved two months later. The spa's attempts to redirect us to their insurer and their lack of meaningful engagement regarding the incident are deeply concerning and unacceptable.
We hope Nirvana Spa acknowledges the severity of this situation and takes the necessary steps to prevent such experiences in the future. This was supposed to be a special day, but it was completely ruined by the spa's negligence and lack of professionalism.
Deteriorating fast…avoid!
Not my first visit, but certainly the last. Nirvana has become a mediocre experience, overcrowded, with dated facilities and poor service.
Specifically:
- General: no spa etiquette, other than no mobile phones in public areas. Very loud party conversations in all areas, particularly around the main pool, making it impossible to relax or listen to anything using AirPods. No flip flops provided allowing visitors to walk barefoot in all areas, hygiene?
- Gym: tiny gym with poor air conditioning, treadmills with unconfigured or non-functioning TVs, dried mud on the floor.
- Pools: Biggest asset particularly salt water pool (barring the sewage smell in the showers). Main pool has soiled tables and uncomfortable loungers around the main pool. Impossible to find space in the outside pool (too small) or aromatherapy pool (overcrowded).
- Food: overpriced salad bar with ok cold options and canteen-style hot food (fish awful). Service poor.
- Maintenance: toilets, showers and changing rooms are not as clean as you might expect. Battered plastic glasses at water coolers (looking unclean, with lipstick traces on the rim).
Positive: reception and salt-water pool staff are super-professional and friendly.
All in all, it’s clear that operations management is looking to maximise occupancy (and income) with minimal investment. Best to avoid until a major overhaul happens!

A nice spa and I feel could do with a bar with a tv but not a major issue. Just a suggestion.
The place is let down by it’s meanness and sky high prices for everything. The restaurant will do your head in. We ordered a large pot of tea (6 cups) between two and we asked for sugar. The assistant came back with two sachets. We said it wasn’t enough so she went off and came back with two more sachets. It is the same with butter and other items. It is as everything is rationed.
My wife was using up her membership visit allowances so we went two weeks running. First week breakfast she was given two slices of toast. Second week, same order but just one slice. When she queried it they refused her a second slice and claimed the menu had been changed, which was a blatant lie.
Dinner I had the salad and hot buffet. They are so mean with the hot buffet it is laughable. One small chicken wing, one piece of fish about 2cm square, one potato and one tablespoon of veg stew.
On top of that you have to pay for towels and robes.
The staff are not that friendly either and seem almost frightened to use their own initiative.
It is expensive to visit Nirvana so how about a bit more emphasis on customer satisfaction rather than just trying to screw every penny out of them.
For this reason we have decided not to renew our membership.

Not a good experience
Not a good experience, the Spa was so full we could not make use of any of the hot tubs or quiet rooms, the food was extremely disappointing. The only good thing, was the facial.

Activation of membership
My wife & I have been to Nirvana Spa a few times and had a pleasant experience.
For Christmas I purchased the 3 visit membership for my wife and she still has not been able to activate her account. Very frustrating as she would have used one of her visits by now. Not really sure what the issue is.

Fabulous relaxing day!
Had a fantastic day at Nirvana Spa! We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and the staff were so helpful and friendly throughout the day - nothing seemed too much trouble. Cody, Tracey and Dawn made our day exceptional.
It was great that we could ask for additional towels and robes. Having larger towels provided for some of the facilities was good too.
The spa was spotlessly clean and tidy.
We had some lovely relaxing treatments & a very tasty lunch.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and we can’t wait to return!

Need more toilets!…
I’ve been coming here for many years and think it’s one of the best Spa’s around but after my visit yesterday I felt I needed to mention that….a relaxing day should not involve queuing for the toilet!! Every time there was at least 4-5 ladies waiting…come on Nirvana please sort this out!
