Got a call from money reclaim experts…

Got a call from money reclaim experts saying I owe 350 quid from a ppi they won for me of 700 quid, I've not had a word or cheque for ppi for over 2 years now, had a text saying will take me to court if I don't pay, I checked the bank details I was given and it does not recognise a company name under the account number or sort code this looks like a big scam also when you phone the number it's not recognised

This company should be avoided at all…

This company should be avoided at all costs. Sharp and Shoddy practice is at the core of their philosophy which certainly borders on the illegal. This does not only end with customers but also employees if you enter into any contract with them do so at your peril.

Beware - new Company names as of 2018.

Beware. This company is now trading under other names.

In March 2018, someone representing them, trading as The Money Reclaim Experts, supposedly based at 6-8 Crompton Street, Bury, BL9 0AD, contacted me, with seemingly worthwhile rates etc. Since then only this month (August), they are now calling themselves Reclaim Finance, on a Manchester phone number.

I thought I'd see how far their plausibility would go, and they sent me details. However, the documents they sent me contained added details of banks and building societies I'd never even mentioned; the registered office address differed to that above, and my own checks at Companies House revealed a string of issues in them not producing their Annual Reports on time and being reprimanded by the appropriate authorities. Reviews of the company were equally scathing.

I had a friend of mine who lives in Manchester check out the address which was in a run down office block. Their other "registered office" as per their documents was no more than a Mail Box facility.

Their follow up service, ie, a call back, occurred even before their mailing got to me. To say they were "pushy" is an understatement, but I told them straight that I'd no wish to take up their services and leave it at that.

Naturally, they wanted to know why; I gave them little information so that they couldn't close those "loopholes" and give them an advantage! I placed their contact details on my Block options on my Phone but they continually change or create new 0161 numbers which call me; I've got into the habit of ignoring such prefix numbers unless I know it's a legit caller.

Avoid

It all seemed fairly legitimate until I paid. Then the company became unreachable.

Angry at myself for allowing it to happen. I am pretty tech savvy but with things so busy at work you dont have time to second guess everyone who makes contact. I guess that is my lesson learnt.

Avoid New Mount Media or any connected company. They obviously have no clue or moral standards.

Facebook Fraud New Mount Media

This review is to alert anyone who comes across New Mount Media - please read this review.

I have copied and pasted the below email from Facebook to me as a I have fallen to a digital marketing scam with company in the UK called New Mount Media.

Hi Recel,

It is unfortunate that you've fallen prey to this scheme. I deeply sympathize with you here.
I can assure you that they are in no way associated with Facebook.

Thanks,

Thanks Marty.
I engaged with supposedly an authorised Facebook partner who's director was quick to contact me saying they were. The company is (link removed New Mount Media)

I have given them money to do our campaign but they seem to have disappeared? I've been trying to get in touch with the director sam paul but he's not responded to any of my messages via email, voicemail etc

I did a Google search on them last night & only saw bad reviews which I regret not seeing sooner. Would you please confirm if this company is actually in fact a Facebook authorised partner ?

I look forward to your reply.
Regards
Recel

Con artist

This is a horrible company. Full of promises but NEVER delivered. Took our money and walked away. Didn't get ANY traffic at all. It started with a call with [NAME] and then followed up with [NAME]. My calls were ignored and based on tracking code we gave them, the campaign didn't run.

Avoid and report it to the police if they took your money.

So many promises-never delivered

I was approached by New Mount Media last year and not being one to fall for sales chatter I asked them to give me some of their past clients to contact. I approached 3 of them and two responded giving them glowing reviews (were they friends or the business used to be good-I don't know, I still have the emails). They were supposed to get more activity on Facebook, Google and also Google places. The only thing they did do after a lot of chasing was to fill our Facebook page with useless likes from places around the world that are never going to want a photography studio in Bath. I have been back to them on numerous occasions and last time I said I will have to write a review if you don't sort something out-which they have failed to do yet again. DO NOT PART WITH ANY MONEY TO THIS COMPANY. I paid £650 and have had nothing in return other than 5000 useless 'likes'

New Mount Media are nothing more than chancers and charlatans.

Do yourself a favour, don’t go near this company. I trusted them and I wish I hadn’t. My advice to you would be to stop reading this now, save yourself some time and go elsewhere.

Maybe you’d like to know why?
Their sales guys are good, but there’s no crime in that. They offered us exactly what we were looking for which was a one month Facebook advertising trial with no strings attached. Here’s what I was told…
“Try it for a month, see what response you get and we’ll take it from there”...

“You’ll get a report showing you where your traffic is coming from and insights into you demographics.”

“There are no contracts, but should you wish to retain the allocation at the end of the campaign then of course you are able to do so for as long as required.”

That’s what they offer, but it’s not what they deliver.
What you’ll get is substandard adverts, put together by someone who has little (if any) knowledge of online advertising or behavioral economics.

Then they’ll ignore your calls. And they’ll ignore your emails. And they’ll take unauthorized payments from your credit card. I kid you not.

Why listen to me, what do I know?
I’m not some ranting loon who’s bitter at losing a few quid. All you really need to know about me is that I’ve worked in the marketing industry for over 20 years including a decade at a Young and Rubicam agency. I hope I know what I’m talking about and I thought I’d seen every fly-by-night there was. Until I started to work with New Mount Media. They’re really special.

Their idea of customer service is different.
Did I mention they don’t answer your calls and emails? Pretty nifty for a communications company don’t you think?

I don’t know how many phone calls I’ve made, dozens I expect. Only to be fobbed off with a half-baked excuses. I even contacted them by Facebook, their specialist area. Got no reply.

I couldn’t help but think I was inconveniencing them by being a customer and giving them money to work for us.

And heaven help you if your dedicated account handler is [name]. If you’re unlucky enough to have this happen to you, my advice would be to back out of the deal as quickly as you can. Your bank balance will be grateful for it and your colleagues will certainly thank you.

And how about that report they promise?
They call it “A detailed Analytic Report. The report will help you to determine where most of your traffic is coming from within your target audience”
It’s one line. It isn’t a report. It will tell you how many people saw the advert and how many people clicked it. That’s all. No insights. No analysis.

Are you still with me?
If you’re still reading this, I’m sure it must sound like I’m making it up. Sadly, I’m not. And when you complain, they hide behind their Terms and Conditions and blatantly ignore basic business principles like trust, promises and simply doing what they said they would.

I’ll leave you to make your own mind up, but allow me to share one last thing with you about me. I’ve never posted a complaint about a business before. I’m easy-going and usually tolerant enough to give people the benefit of the doubt.

But not New Mount Media, as I said they’re nothing more than chancers and charlatans.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the campaign didn’t work. They tell me we reached 162,549 people. Our google analytics reports that traffic from Facebook to our website for the month was 19 users.

That’s 0.01% response. Maybe that sounds to you like the campaign didn’t happen at all?

I couldn’t possibly comment.

If you want more information feel free to email me. I’ll get back to you. I’ll even send you all my email transcripts if you like, then you can decide for yourself.

Or you could just take my word for it, stop reading this now, save yourself some time and go elsewhere.

I wish I had.

By the way. We continued with them for a second month (because they'd taken payment) but because we decided not to take it any further we didn't get our report. A less reputable company I am yet to meet.

Don't Throw Your Money Away.

My last review was deleted for missing proof of purchase.

Invoice number: 1670FB
Dated 19.04.14
Copy of invoice can be provided.

New Mount Media contacted me with the promise of 500,000 unique views of an advert for my company on Facebook with an expected clickthrough rate of 1.6%. I was a little skeptical so agreed a test campaign of 250,000 for £300 plus vat.

It took several weeks for them to get an advert on to Facebook (they claim). However I have never seen the advert in my timeline. Nor have any of my friends, family or customers. Most importantly, I have never received a single extra click from Facebook (or any redirect or gateway New Mount may use) since they say the advert has been live. Not one.

New Mount Media are insisting that I am getting loads of clicks but just don't know how to read Google Analytics properly. I have been running websites for many years, so this is akin to telling a gardener that they know nothing about grass.

If, like me, you are foolish enough to give this company money you will probably experience what I have:

- No results.
- Being told you are getting results but that you just can't see them.
- Getting fobbed off.
- Ignored emails.
- Ignored phone calls.
- Loads of excuses.
- No refund.

Don't say you haven't been warned.

Treat with extreme caution

these guys contacted me and claimed they could deliver my adverts to 500,000 targeted FB users for 30 days. I did not get a single response and when i asked for evidence that anything had been done I got a face book report that simply showed the level of activity was about 5% of what I had contracted for! I am a victim of my own greed, I suggest you give your money to the homeless, its more likely to be useful there.
