I feel really lucky that I get to study in such a beautiful place: Anguilla! The coursework is engaging and I really love going to class everyday. The classes are small but its the best setup when you are studying someething like medicine.

I had a positive experience…

I had a positive experience communicating with New Anglia University during my research and application process. The admissions team was responsive, transparent, and willing to answer detailed questions about the curriculum and clinical rotations. I would recommend prospective students take the time to speak directly with the university and do their own research, as I found the information provided to be clear and consistent.

My daughter started at New Anglia…

My daughter started at New Anglia University this September, and I had the opportunity to be there and witness the transition firsthand and we have been very impressed. The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating, they assisted with our daughter’s relocation from the UK to Anguilla, helped find a place to stay, and even picked students up from the airport. They also gave a tour of the beautiful island, which made the transition so much smoother.

The education provided at NAU is excellent. As a new medical school, NAU is still building its reputation, but it is fully accredited and clearly dedicated to supporting its students. We feel confident that our daughter is in good hands and look forward to seeing the university grow into a top medical institution.

As someone who studied at NAU

As someone who studied at NAU
I do not wish this on my worst enemies.

The constant unilateral changes without consideration for students well-being made it impossible for almost 40 something students to continue.

The course was advertised by SME and the school as an online ISP/Online for 2 years (6 terms) followed by 2 years clinical rotations in the UK. Despite what NAU claims, there's video evidence of them clearly stating the online nature of the first two years (basic science)
We were notified, around March 2025, of ISP cancellation for future intake while assuring us it won't affect current ISP. THEN before the end of term 2 (April 2025) , ISP was completely cancelled! And you had to move to Anguilla and repeat the 1st two terms AND pay for all the extra costs! Making this year the most expensive waste of time with nothing to show for.

I have not received my transcripts for term 1, deapite me asking for it repeatedly.

Avoid if you value your time, money, and sanity.

Update 25/04/2025
Hours after posting my review, university asked me via TrustPilot to provide personal information otherwise my review will be invalid.

I implore TrustPilot to not remove my review and instead investigate the other reviews to see if they were written by genuine students or someone with inflicted interest or fake.

Thank you

Update 19/05
Uni still hasn't provided transcripts.

Uni has also appointed a law firm to try and intimidate me into taking my review down. They threatening to sue me for 50k damages. I say I'd like to see them try.

NAU: do you verify all reviews? Or just the ones you don't like?

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for sharing your comments. We are committed to addressing student concerns, but it is also important to correct several factual inaccuracies in your review so that readers are not misled.

1. Programme format and advertising

The University has never advertised or offered an online MD programme. The Individualised Study Plan (ISP) is a temporary academic accommodation designed for students facing exceptional circumstances (for example, serious medical issues or delays in obtaining a student visa) that prevent them from immediately attending campus but who require a short extension before relocating. It has never been an alternative “online pathway” or a substitute for the campus-based MD programme.

The core programme structure, including the requirement for on-campus study, was detailed in official offer letters and published on our website. Any promotional material produced by third parties is required to follow the University’s official documentation. Where inconsistencies arise, the University’s published programme structure always takes precedence.

The ISP is a very short-term support measure, and students are expected to transition to on-campus learning once their situation allows. This was clearly explained during enrolment. On-campus delivery is compulsory for the MD degree, and where a student has followed a temporary ISP accommodation, full in-person learning is required to complete all credits and meet the learning outcomes and clinical competencies expected in medical education.

2. Tuition Fees

Tuition fees remained exactly as published in offer letters and on the University’s website. No additional or hidden tuition fees were introduced. Personal decisions regarding relocation, accommodation, or travel costs remain the responsibility of the individual student.

3. Trustpilot verification of reviews

The University may request verification through Trustpilot to confirm that a reviewer is a genuine student or applicant. This is a standard and good-faith measure designed to protect the integrity of the platform for all users—students, prospective students, and the institution alike. It is not applied selectively to negative reviews, nor is it intended to “invalidate” legitimate concerns.

4. Contact from legal representatives

The University fully respects the right of students and former students to express their views. However, when public statements contain serious allegations that are factually incorrect and potentially defamatory, it is standard practice to seek legal advice. Any communication from legal representatives relates solely to demonstrably false or misleading claims, not to silence honest feedback.

5. Constructive resolution

We encourage any student with concerns to contact us directly through our official support channels so that we can review individual circumstances, provide clarification, and offer appropriate assistance. Public reviews are part of open dialogue, but they must be accurate and fair to avoid misinforming prospective students and the wider community.

We remain committed to transparency, regulatory compliance, and the well-being of our students.

Kind regards,

New Anglia University is an absolute…

New Anglia University is an absolute scam of an institution! They take advantage of aspiring medical students by promising an academic program that they do not deliver! They promised students in the UK a remote study period for the first 2 years (preclinical) out of the 4 year MD programme which they called “Individual study plan (ISP)” followed by the clinical placement years in UK hospitals. They charged £4000 for this per term - only to then within the 1st term cancel the whole ISP they promised, introduced random drastic changes to the course and literally underdeliver what they promised!
Then they have the audacity to not offer any support or refunds to students. This lead to multiple students being thousands of pounds out of pocket with credits that are not even transferable anywhere, unless they pack up and move to Anguilla (which is where their so called campus is based), very shady horrible institution. The Agency that is promoting them is called SME (Study Medicine Europe) and they are just as bad because they don’t care to respond to students concerns. AVOID at all costs, if I could give zero stars I would!!!

Dear H AJ,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take all student feedback seriously, and it is important to address several inaccuracies and misleading statements in your review so that prospective students are not misinformed.

First, New Anglia University has never advertised or offered an online MD programme.
The Individualised Study Plan (ISP) is a conditional academic accommodation designed to support students facing exceptional circumstances that temporarily prevent them from attending campus—such as medical issues or delays in obtaining a student visa. It is a short-term support measure, and students are expected to transition to on-campus learning once their situation allows and complete the full credits. This was clearly explained during enrolment.

Regarding programme adjustments:
As with any medical school operating under international regulatory frameworks, New Anglia University may make adjustments to delivery formats to ensure compliance, academic integrity, and student safety. Any changes introduced were implemented to strengthen programme quality and maintain alignment with educational standards.

On tuition fees and transparency:
All tuition fees were disclosed in advance through official offer letters and were publicly available on our website at the time of enrolment. No hidden or additional fees were introduced.

Concerning credit transfer:
The claim that credits are “not transferable” is inaccurate. Decisions about credit recognition rest solely with the receiving institution, not the originating one. New Anglia University provides full academic documentation and support to facilitate transfer requests where appropriate.

Regarding SME:
While SME is one of our recruitment partners, New Anglia University is fully responsible for academic delivery, student support, and regulatory compliance. Any concerns relating to SME’s communication should be directed to them. It is inappropriate and unfair to attribute unsubstantiated claims to either organisation.

We understand that changes to study plans can be challenging, and we remain committed to supporting all students with integrity and transparency. However, it is essential that public commentary is accurate, fair, and based on verifiable facts. Misleading statements risk harming prospective students and the wider academic community.

We encourage any student with concerns to contact us directly through our official support channels so we can provide timely assistance.

Kind regards,
