Hi Earl, sorry to hear this, we take feedback very seriously and are always looking at ways to improve our customer experience and also the contents of our devices. We shall take this on board. Instead of clicking the back button many times, you can click on the "home" button on the remote and that shall take you to the main menu. We do not currently have Netflix but have the Amazon Prime video , Rakuten which has 100's of movies plus our several free to view movies titles on the device.

Resetting box

This is terrible. Box keeps resetting itself at 5 min intervals. So frustrating. Would love contact, but to no avail!

Excellent service with help setting up…

Excellent service with help setting up initially. Since starting my viewing, programme menu improved.Impressed with the ease to which access to various media platforms within the unit. Economic box that fits in anywhere. The only complaint is that this tends to lock recordings when the external HDD Is used and I assume the wi-fi drops. I have needed to reset it. Sometimes the program is unobtainable.
Despite this, a great value service and well enjoyed!

I’m absolutely thrilled with netgem

I’m absolutely thrilled with netgem. Unbeatable value. I was paying a fortune with Virgin for surly customer service, a disgraceful charge when I moved house and way too many unnecessary channels. With netgem I get every channel I need plus loads of bonus ones. It’s super easy to operate and set up. So far customer service is great. Bargain!

Absolutely disgraceful, box is a fire hazard

Absolutely disgraceful. The box keeps on overheating. I called support and they replaced it. Within 30 minutes it overheated again. 2nd time now and it's absolutely ridiculous. So hot, I'm worried it will catch fire. A hazard. This needs sorting

Hi Susan, Sorry to hear you would like to return the device since it is not compatible with your TV, Our Netgem TV devices are compatible with most TV's you only require an HDMI cable to connect from your TV to your Netgem TV device, and an internet connection for the initial set up and also for the on demand services. Please contact our helpdesk on live chat on www.netgem.co.uk or email support@netgem.co.uk for further assistance in connecting to your TV. With regards to the returns, once a subscription is cancelled, we provide a prepaid slip for the return of the device.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

What a joke this company is. I cancelled my subscription in March and was told that I would receive a prepaid envelope/slip to return the goods. I then heard nothing apart from emails saying please rate us.
The next communication I receive (in the middle of July)is a final demand letter threatening debt collection as I hadn't returned the products which was Netgems fault not mine.
I contacted them straight away and tried to sort this mess out and was told that they would send out the envelope/slip. After more communication via email it finally arrived.
The product is a waste of money as said in other reviews you can get more free view.
I have given 1 star rating as it the lowest you can give but its not even worth that.
Would I use this again? NO
Would I recommend this product to friends and family? NOT A CHANCE.

Great value for money

Excellent piece of kit. Great value for money, would highly recommend.
Everyone I know is completely satisfied with the TV service and the boxes (box 4k, smart soundbar HD and box HD)! A must in price, quality and ease of setup (customizable apps and TV services...)!

I don't advice anyone to use this…

I don't advice anyone to use this netgem box its rubbish switches off while watching it so bad I have had it for months and not happy at all, I don't normally complain but nothing is boring g as watching and nice program and having the box restart itself sometimes it's the whole day of doing that, customer service doesn't help they keep telling me they will resolve the issue it's been months but nothing had been resolved until today as I type this, the next thing i will do is stop paying and put box in the rubbish bin where it belongs

Lots of channels all for 3.99 a month best £3.99 I have spent on be able to watch loads of programs I would highly recommend Netgem box to anyone who doesn’t like paying out to much every month

Good but not for me yet

The software works seamlessly between on demand and live tv. The netgem mobile app is probably the best I’ve ever used. Alexa works without a hiccup. Unfortunately I ended my membership during the free trial period as an audio sync problem with prime video could not be resolved despite the best efforts of customer services. I suspect this was probably a hdmi handshaking issue from the HD box to a 4k tv. I may try again when the 4k box is more widely available

Just not worth the monthly subscription

While it’s not a bad little streaming box it’s just not worth the monthly subscription cost and I have cancelled my free trial.

Most of the supposed 30,000 plus hours of content are freely available elsewhere and what is exclusive to Netgem is really not worth paying for.

The fact that you have to provide your own recording media (USB flash drive) to have the option to record anything (Only Freeview channels) and that you can only record 1 channel at a time is pretty poor and if you are recording anything in HD the space on the drive can fill up quick and out of the 10 recordings I made only 4 actually worked properly.

The streaming apps are glitchy at times, like Britbox and Amazon Prime, I have a 1GB up and down connection wired to the box, so it’s not a speed issue and the 4K stream is just not watchable.

No Netflix and some other TV streaming apps are also missing.

The UI is just adverting for paid premium content and cannot be customised and the remote control is woefully slow in responsiveness.

Honestly, I will stick to my Freeview recorder, which had large storage and can record multiple channels at the same time and FireTV stick.
