Nescafe Original instant coffee new recipe tastes fowl

I have been drinking Nescafe original coffee for years but this new recipe is vile I kept throwing every cup of it down the drain because it tasted so fowl only to discover it is a new recipe. I bought 4 jars they were 2 for £10.00 from Iceland and I won't be able to drink it . I am finding that all the coffee has changed I liked Kenco and that is awful as well. Restore the original flavour

Size and contents have shrunk

The sachets of coffee have shrunk and the taste is watered down ,not worth buying ,I'm changing my supplier . Nescafe isn't the go to coffee no more

No coffee smell, flavour or taste any more

Opened fresh jar with Best before later in year and two of us both said it was tasteless.
Opened a 2027 jar. Also no real coffee smell and again hardly any taste. We are not fresh coffee drinkers so were not comparing. Used to get strong coffee smell on opening a jar and used to taste like coffee. Will not be buying Nescafe again.

Ex Alta Rica drinker

I had been a long time Alta Rica drinker but no longer the taste is awful and most of my friends have stopped buying it to we all cannot be wrong !! What a shame to spoil a good product.

I have been Drinking the Original…

I have been Drinking the Nescafe Original instant Coffee for over 30 years before me , my Grandmother drank the same ,A rich dark Coffee Powder .
Now the latest same Nescafe Original labels &Jars purchased as normal in Tescos or Asda .
No !
The same Nescafe Original is Puffed GRANULES leaving an unsatisfied feeling to start our day and obviously we pay the same price for 50% Air !
A line that should NEVER be crossed as far as I'm concerned! Original??

If the above is not bad enough new data released by me....Once Air & Moisture are present in our jar ( Half-full) on use ...I start to feel sick with stomach problems due to the new products ease of soaking up moisture & oxygen creating MOLD & FUNGUS ! ( kept in the same dry kitchen cupboard as normal)
This didn't happen before when it was the former rich coffee powder we enjoyed for so many years , I am so ANGRY with Nescafe ....now we get far more than we bargained for it's making us Sick with their new products Puffed Granules ,WOW A New Low 😩!

Nescafé Alta Rica 190g jar awful smelt of cats piss 🤮 no taste bland!🤮received £3 voucher🙄jar cost £6.95.

I bought a Nescafé Alta Rica 190g jar opened it and it smelled of disgusting strong cats piss!🤮.and .sour chemicals.🤮
I made a cup anyway but there was no taste 🥴so in I put another teaspoon still bland not tasted of coffee at all!.
I have brought this coffee before in 2025 it was nice...contacted nestle by phone at customer support to make a complaint she jodie said they'd changed recipe and distributor🙄I demanded a refund as I was very unhappy with this coffee which was agreed and refund voucher would be sent to my address as it was clearly undrinkable🤮my neighbour confirmed it was horrible!🤮..nestle youve destroyed my confidence in your coffee...
Update 20th Jan 2026..I just received letter from nestle with a non apologetic response and an insulting £3 voucher!😠the 200g jar cost me £6.95 which I had to bin it was so disgusting 😠😡...nestle your a bad company treating customers like crap with poor quality coffee and sending an insulting contribution to me of £3🙄🥴

Nescafe Azera Coffee from the best to now unpalatable 🤢

I have been drinking Azera for years always stuck to Nescafe Coffee, but recently the Azera has become, well just unpalatable the rich taste froth and body has done a runner 🏃‍♀️ I wrote to Nescafe and asked what have they actually done? I got a quick response saying they had NOT changed any ingredients🤔 and sent me, wait for it.....a £5 cheque lol 😂 after searching online I can see I am not the only consumer to complain, they reduce the size of the tin and now put inside a 'cheap' disgusting coffee, NOT coffee and expect us to not notice! I will no longer be buying Nescafe Azera and after seeing reviews on other brands ie Aldi and half the cost will move on.

After many years I won’t be buying Nescafé any more

So for a long time I’ve been thinking why Nescafé gold blend and its variants like alta rica and robust etc were no longer hitting a satisfying taste point but as soon as I’d finished a cup I’d forget about. Today drinking my morning coffee I stopped and searched online to see if others were having the same underwhelming experience and sure enough so many are. I’ve tried many other instant brands and they don’t taste good. Well done Nescafé, you have completely ruined these products and therefore I won’t be buying Nescafé any longer. I’m going back to making good coffee by grinding high quality beans like Lavazza. Nescafé, for many years you had a product that had no like for like comparison but your idiot corporate obsession with trying to reduce manufacturing cost while increasing retail price only ultimately provides you with diminishing returns…

Nescafe classics "now even smoother" is just now undrinkable!

I've been drinking nescafe original for afew yrs now and its good. However the shop was out so I usualy get the classic refill when that happens and noticed it said NOW EVEN SMOOTHER! So I was hoping it hadn't been "cheapened" or ruined, but sure enough its undrinkable now. It tastes like water with the aroma of coffee and it tastes and smells like a cheap coffee now so im pretty disappointed! Gave a horrible aftertaste like cheap coffee too so im going to switch to another brand especially if the jars of original get changed too. Things that are good already don't need changing I recon and thats how customers get lost :(

Disappointing Experience Not What I Expected

I had high hopes for ordering from Nescafé Sweden, but unfortunately my experience was far from satisfactory. The website looked polished and professional, however the delivery was delayed and when the package finally arrived several items were missing or damaged. Customer service responses have been slow and unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I expected better from such a well‑known brand.

Not happy with nescafe instant coffees…

Not happy with nescafe instant coffees through all blends, been a nescafe loyalist since the day i started drinking coffee, nothing could beat nescafe in my book but over the last year i have been having a funny minty chemical taste in my mouth, i first thought it was a medical issue & put it down to that, anyway last week i spent the week at my sisters house & she only drinks dowe egberts, now after a day i noticed this minty taste had gone ( a full week of no minty taste, when i got back home this minty taste returned, i thought then this is not medical it's something I'm doing at home is the issue, so i started testing & deducting thinks it could be that i did at my sisters to what i did at home, it took a while but then my wife said i change coffee, so i when back on dowe egberts & guess what NO minty taste, i did go back to nescafe to see if it wasn't a fluck but the taste returned so now back on dowe egberts,,,,yes i have NOT had the taste since!

So disappointed with nescafe, a brand that you should be able to trust not to mess with anything just to save a few quid, well they will lose more money by doing this because I'm a dowe egberts drinker now & nescafe have lost my costume!

i emailed Nescafe about there sachets are really hard to get into and i cut my hand but they just fobbed me off..really bad service.gave them batch number and all and they asked me to return..would of cost me more to send back

What a rip off

What a rip off. Won't be buying Nescafe products again. Do they think people are fools. Reduced their capuchinos from 8 sachets to 7 and charging the same price. They taste horrible now.Have switched to Maxwell house. 10 sachets for same price and taste nicer.

Can’t believe how awful the new Nescafé…

Can’t believe how awful the new Nescafé Cappucino unsweetened sachets are now. Not only reduced to 7 in a box but don’t get a thick foam like they used to and the taste is horrible. Why mess with a perfectly good recipe as now I won’t be buying them ever again. Please change back to the original or no one will be buying these vile so called Cappucinos again
