Fool Me Once, Fool Me Twice…
I have placed a total of two orders on their website, and I have had to contact customer support for missing/incorrect items for both of them. That being said support was much, much faster at responding this time around, but it still doesn’t leave the best impression on that side of things.
The products themselves are phenomenal works of glass and art, the modular system is innovative and one that limits the scale of your creations only by your imagination (and your wallet)! The melding of sturdy glass and aesthetic design is a symphony of borosilicate that would make even the gods weep!
The teardrop mouthpiece is an eloquent statement piece, it differs slightly than pictured in that it has a mild curvature that is difficult to discern from the frontal perspective pictured on the website, and the coloration is not 1:1 between the real item and the website image. Both of those I don’t consider negatives at all, but something worth mentioning.
The NC Doubler is an excellent starting platform for any fiendish Franken-Collectors you may conceive of, but I am using it as a standalone device which is just as well. The spill-guard included with the doubler in tandem with the unique shape of the teardrop mouthpiece ensures that zero water droplets touch your lips, even under the heaviest pulls.
The Vortex Venturi diffuser is leaps and bounds ahead of the single hole diffuser that comes standard with a lot of the NC lineup. While cleaning should be done regularly anyway, I’ve found that the single hole diffusers clog up too quickly for my liking. This is partially remedied with the extra holes on the vortex, in addition to smoother rips owing to more diffusion.
To sum things up, quality products that are worth the money. If they can sort out their order accuracy issues my rating easily jumps to between 4-5. I could see myself placing another order with them, that’d be make-or-break for me.
