A serious warning.

I only award 1 star under duress so I can actually write a report to warn how hopeless and unhelpful NWR are. It has taken over a year to get the right certification (for which I had to pay myself) and be linked up to export spare energy (so also I have forfeited a year's earnings from my panels as a result). I found once they had installed the panels they washed their hands of me and any contact was often cut off or unanswered or met with obfuscation. Hopeless and frustrating, I give them no recommendation and seriously wonder if they should be in business at all as they cannot issue the required certification being not registered with the necessary bodies for approval.

Will they pay their debts?

NWR are not taking on any new business according to their website.
They have at least 9 CCJ's against them and owe customers over £100k in court fines.
I suspect they will go into liquidation very soon, whilst there former owner has got out and is now running another solar company Right NRG.

Complete shambles from day 1 for 4 years

After fighting utter incompetence at Nationwide from the day the sales rep came around 4 years ago we lost patience with them and went to litigation in February 2025 and yesterday (Oct 2026) won our court case and we're awarded full costs and a fixed amount to be paid by Oct 20th 2026. It it isn't paid we will certainly pursue them to get recompense. The 4 year story is a litany of bad service, incompetent support. Fraudulent selling and basic malpractice. Our expert witness for the court case stated they had simply not fulfilled any off the requirements required and had left the system unsafe with no documentation with no final documentation or handover pack. During the installation we requested a battery which they supplied and we found out it was not only not working but was registered to another person in Manchester somewhere. They then took away the battery as well as the inverter and only gave us a replacement inverter 6 months later which cannot handle a battery so it is in effect useless to us. Nationwide did not even turn up for mediation to settle the case last May and ignored a mediation settlement in June 2026 before going to court. Yesterday they didn't appear at the court case with no apology or excuse to our solicitor or the court. We have had to pay a huge legal bill and I guess they will not pay us the outstanding judgement amount by 20th Oct 2026 so it looks like we may be calling the bailiffs in or placing a third party debt order on their bank account to get our money back.
Avoid them like the plague and go direct to Octopus or another large supplier if you want a working system. If you are lucky you may well get someone to ring you back from Nationwide but you probably will never speak to them again the turnover of staff is so prolific.
In short, they are THE WORST company I have ever dealt with and work on the basis that they think avoiding you will silence your criticism.... Not with this man. If they don't pay up and it costs me a lot more money I will personally ensure I get satisfaction by pursuing the owners until we get our recompense as dictated in the CCJ by the court.

*****WARNING BEWARE*****

****WARNING*****
This company IS NOT registered to undertake solar installations. There work is shoddy and dangerous and you will never be able to use any power it produces. They make you pay £10k for 4 panels and they register the export to the grid and get paid for it. You will get nothing!

My advice, if your gonna pay £10k for an install do it properly and get it direct from Octopus Energy or EON Next and you will never have any issues.

This company’s an absolute fraud and after checking companies house, they are playing the game of going bust and starting another company.

The directors also run a business called “Right First Time Ltd” which is a cold calling scamming company. Beware!

Awarded County Court Judgment

My name is Kendra Ullyart.

I have been awarded a County Court Judgement against Nationwide Renewables (Claim Number N9QZ6M72), for the amount of £14,253.49 - the cost of my solar installation, plus court fees.
This Judgement is for failure to deliver on a contract entered into in September 2025.

I have yet to receive payment, and am actively pursuing enforcement action.

My question to the Nationwide Renewables team - When can I expect payment, to finally resolve this issue?

Avoid this company for Solar Panels

This company was contracted to fit Solar Panels.

We had an agreement for resolution and they did not do what they said they would do. Repeated missed deadlines.

I would AVOID this company as this issue is not resolved and has been going on for years now.

TERRIBLE experience

TERRIBLE experience. I wish there was zero or even minus I can rate.

This company is FRAUD. All the reviews which are negative are 100% true as we had similar experience.
We were looking to install solar panels last year and had a sales reprensentative called Rhys who was good at his job but unfortunately hired by wrong company who pushes people to sign after a long and tiring sales pitch.
Customer services is appalling and they never reply. Phone line are only operational from 9 am to 2 pm but no one answers. Whatsapp number they advertise as an alternative is also of no use.
The address which the company is registered is also not correct as my signed for document is returned and they confessed it is not operational.
They took deposit of £1750.00 and never returned though we cancelled the contract in 5 days due to their miscommunication and pushing to pay more without any work.

After long back and forth (nearly after 9 months), they promised some amount back but twice they gave me time and never credited the money though they made me sign paperwork etc confirming the bank details and raised the ticket.
Also, the people I spoke to, and who are helpful has left the company. No one last longer with this company maybe due to immense pressure so you will be never able to talk to the same person again which is alarming. There names are mentioned in lots of reviews positively because they were good in communication and help to solve this issue to an extent.

The director I emailed has also resigned the firm. The company is going through complete changes promising to improve and solve the old outstanding cases but nothing is in progress infact it is getting worse day by day.
All they do is words but no action.
Beware of this company.
I am still awaiting for them to contact me and sort my refund as promised which is now coming to a 1 year in few weeks.
I avoided putting a review here but now my patience came to end.
There is so much to say about the sales pitch to the experience thereafter that I am unable to express in such a short space but I am just warning others to be careful as this might be a hell of experience you will go through without a concrete result.

I had my panels fit October 2024

I had my panels fit October 2024. At the time of the sale I was promised that I would be able to export any excess energy to Octopus. Installation went well, the system works well but I have had multiple issues and phone calls/emails with nationwide renewables trying to get the correct paperwork to export my energy. The last time I was in contact with them I was told to contact my council for building control. At a cost of £1000 on top of what I paid for the panels 2 years ago, I am not willing to do this, but at the moment it all feels like a pointless investment. After a few months off of constant chasing I am about to get back on the case of desperately trying to get an MCS certificate so I can finally export. Would recommend avoiding this company. They don't let you think about the quote, but demand that you decide on the day. This should have been my first red flag to be fair.

Remember you need paperwork - guarantees and industry standard documentation.

The sales pitch was very persistent, and did not advise about paperwork we should expect. However, we were keen to install and liked the German solar panels offered (we knew they were high quality). The installation of 7 solar panels was done in February 2025. We signed a handwritten document but never received an itemised bill, which we asked for.
The installation was efficient and well done once the wrong clips were refused by installers and replaced with the right ones. The project manager seemed inexperienced and did not know the answers to technical questions.
The system worked and is still working well, and the app to show how much power is being produced is useful and we were shown how to use it.
The industry certificates we needed for exporting to the grid (buildings reg, and electricity regs were not forthcoming, despite many phone calls and emails throughout 2025. We were fobbed off with excuses and hostility, as if we had a cheek to ask for them. We received the G98 certificate from Northern Grid by asking them ourselves, after receiving a copy of a letter from Northern Grid to Nationwide Renewables which told us Northern Grid had received the wrong information from Nationwide Renewables, who were so clueless, (or shameless) they tried to present it back to us saying they were still trying to get the others, but had made a start!
It was not until Right NRG got onto the problem earlier this year that we got a phone call saying they could send us the certificates if we would give Nationwide Renewables a good review. We protested that they should have given us the certificates anyway, and there would be no review until we got them.
Right NRG seem to know what they are doing, and have sent both building regs and electrical certificates, with which our energy company was willing to work to give us an export tariff.

Avoid these operators: Update on previous review.

Update on previous review.
Installation in Feb 2025. money had to be paid in full before on installation could commence. Incomplete and non-functional due to multiple faults . No certification or documentation supplied that could satisfy Octopus; even the hardware supplied wasn’t up to specification that providers would accept into the uncertified options. Many discussions with NR staff about what they will or will not do. In reality they couldn’t do anything because licence appropriately been revoked and there was nothing there they could do but make empty promises. The execs now say that their original contract makes no mention of them being a member of MCS or having any responsibility to certify or even complete their work. They now also say the system was working and one can only wonder how that conclusion could be reached as it wasn’t even switched on, nor was there any internet connection for a remote assessment. Likely the Head office has no idea what’s happening at the operational end (or maybe simply lying). Now refuse to acknowledge early discussions about the installation and miraculously mislaid records of correspondence and phone calls. Many of staff at the time have since left including their subcontractor (I wonder why!!). Consumer services had an pathological obsession with all customers reporting 5* Trustpilot about the consumer service, to obscure the real issue about the substandard and incompleted work. We are still waiting for documentation 14 months later (though we did receive a planning doc relating to a different customer, presumably in error).

After a year of failure and NR’s refusal to engage, I took the painful decision to write off the NR installation (and £11K). My investigations lead to the conclusion that we had been defrauded by a systemically dishonest money generating company. To make some sort of forward progress on the solar installation, I employed a competent local electrician to re-do the system, replace failed and substandard equipment, install essential coms, additional capacity and certify to enable connection to the grid. Incidentally the second job was half the price that NR had charged. Predictably the new NR company after it’s take over has seized on this action of expedience to disconnect from their liability and blame the customer as any profitable company would be advised in the early stages of an action!

A great way to make £11K with no obligation to provide anything. Totally fraudulent and we think offending consumer legislation at several levels. It will take some time for this to come to court, so in the interim we advise avoidance of 'Nationwide Renewables' and 'Right NRG' (same person with a refreshed name)

This company is awful

This company is awful. Got my system installed December 2023. Problems from the beginning too many to mention. The system is now not working at all. I have tried emailing. Ringing. No response. No one answers the phone and all correspondence is with AI Michael. Who tells me to ring up. Back to square 1. I am going to get the problem sorted myself with another company. Please anyone thinking of buying from this company please don't. You will regret it.

Warning ⚠️ AVOID THIS COMPANY UPDATE.

Warning ⚠️ AVOID THIS COMPANY
This is an update of my other review.
So we had a young guy ZAK take over our case, everything was running fine we were so close to ending this nightmare till this week when we found out ZAK in nolonger there.
We are now back dealing with a call centre, communication broke down again.
So I want a G98 CERTIFICATE NOT A FLIPPING DNO LETTER. I require information from that certificate for me to precede with Octopus Energy to export . I have been charge £250 for this privlage which I will loose because of this Company.
I refuse to speak to your call centre again any further correspondence I want in writing. I am starting legal proceedings against Nationwide Renewables Ltd because enough is enough this is how this company treat terminal cancer patients is absolutely shocking .

Zack has been amazing and supportive…

Zack has been amazing and supportive through the process and managed to get a resolution for me. He gets my 5 stars. However Nationwide Renewables get 1 star. From the start there were issues. It took 6 months for before Zack got involved and resolved our issue in 3 weeks. Unfortunately I have missed out on over 1500kwh of generated electricity that has gone to the grid and no payment to us.

They have acted on feedback

In the last few months, it is clear that Nationwide Renewables has taken feedback seriously. In all my recent communications with the customer service team, they have been helpful and focussed on solving my outstanding queries. I am pleased to say that I now have all outstanding paperwork and I am set up on my new export tariff. The experience is a complete contrast to what I initially experienced. Thanks for listening and addressing the issues.
