National caravan salvage review

I don't normally bother reviewing businesses but felt it worth adding to the other 1 star reviews warning people of this incredibly unprofessional outfit.

I first attempted to get in contact with National caravan salvage in January 2024. Nearly a full 12 months later I am £58 worse off with nothing to show for it but a load of unnecessary stress and frustration. To cut a long story short I was eventually able to purchase an item from them in august which I had to return as it was unsuitable (which was not their fault although competent communications from them would probably have avoided the issue) and requested an alternative which they had already told me was available and which we had discussed and agreed by email and phone.

In keeping with the ongoing theme by this point they then didn't confirm receipt of the return, didn't respond to my email about sending the alternative and didn't actually post it out or respond to any of my emails over the next 2 weeks. After a hell of a lot of chasing on my part over several more weeks I was eventually promised a refund which never came, and further emails chasing said refund have been ignored.

I have reported them to the trading standards authority but since I have better things to do than go through the rigmarole of legal proceedings over £58 they have effectively gotten away with taking my money and keeping it.

Throughout the whole ordeal the communications from them have veered between minimalist uninformative single sentence responses days or weeks after I emailed, through to condescending passive aggressive drivel with some outright bizarre nonsense thrown in - responding to one of my complaints by telling my how cold and wet it is in Wales was one of the more random highlights!

I could go on but frankly I'm done with it all. In my opinion they are the worst company I have ever tried to buy from online and judging by other reviews I'm not the only one. I can only recommend that you steer well clear if you value your sanity.
