Unexpected custom tax of 20-25 percent.
Ordered a body protector. Price was around 160 euros. I wasn’t expected to be slapped by £34 tax by FedEx.
Which is like additional 20-25 percent of the cost. It would be nice if selleria has warned us at check out when they quote us for delivery.

We know it may be uncomfortable to pay extra taxes and fees when purchasing your favourite equestrian items online. Unfortunately, it's something that we cannot manage.
The application of import taxes depends on the law of the UK Government only. Unfortunately, we cannot estimate those costs in advance, as it may vary on local regulation.
Our Sales Conditions section is pretty clear about this matter, and customers who read the policies are warned about such circumstances, as you can read:
"IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ORDERS EXTRA EU: Please remember that you don’t pay VAT when you purchase in Italy, but you will pay when the courier delivers to you the customs fees for import in your country".
We’re sorry if this caused any inconvenience, but hope the products you received met your expectations.

It would have been good to know that the parcel was coming from Italy and I had to pay an additional £70 in import tax

We can see your frustration about the import tax, but we believe important to say how your order was shipped to the United Kingdom, which is still outside the European Economic Area. This means that any order imported from an EU country may be subject to customs duties and local VAT, as per UK regulations. Unfortunately, these charges are not determined by us, and vary based on the destination country and the category or value of the goods. We always recommend checking with your local customs office when placing an international order.
