MyFonts sold us a defective webfont. This is unfortunate, but it can happen and it's outside their control. However, they claimed it was only on our end, even though we tested on different types of devices and environments. (e.g. webserver, locally, Mac, Windows, Android, iPhone)
They have a webpage with their return policy which states only the following (I quote): "MyFonts will issue refunds only in cases where fonts are defective and the problem is reported to (e-mail redacted) within 21 days of purchase." That's literally the entire refund policy.
The font was defective and it was reported within that timespan. MyFonts weaseled out of it by saying I could only replace the font with one similar in value, which they consider a "token of goodwill".
I purchased various fonts for clients as a designer. Everyone was delighted with the quality of the fonts. I really recommend it to acquire totally legal fonts.
I pay for a font subscription with skyfonts that hasn't been working for 3 days now. I've raised the issue with their support service but after a single response which didn't fix things, they no longer reply to my polite requests for help.
The website has a lot of functions and a lot of fonts, but I definitely think that there's better websites than MyFonts.com
The amaount of available fonts and quality of the files is second to none. the fontsoftware isn't as stable as I would have expected. Main point for improvement would be service. It isn't very clear what you get for your subscription, difficult to get overview of which fonts are with which subscription. the term monotype fonts as a subscribtion also seems confusing, some are in the subscription and some aren't. Even worse is the support options, very slow and unavailable. Payment seems a problem also, I have issues with automatic payment almost every year.
