The software works great, it’s just very expensive :( Should be an option for students who are already paying international governments hand over foot in taxes (and none back home due to tax treaties) to receive some kind of discount. In other words I went through the whole process only to find I didn’t owe my home gov’t (a profound relief) all for the low low price of an arm and a leg from MyExpatTaxes 🤦

This was the first time using MyExpatTaxes. I thought it was going to be so difficult and overwhelming. But it was actually very easy to use. And going through this process with MyExpatTaxes was actually enjoyable because it put my mind at ease!

1st time to used this platform and it do excellent job, no hassle and it point you to right direction to maximize the proceedings and absolutely will recommend this to my peers next filing season.

Fast and efficient

Handy process but a bit expensive for 1 hour use of a web app....

It was easy to work through the questions, and to provide appropriate answers. Of course, it was very easy for me, since I have no income in the US, nor assets there, but nonethless, it was not difficult to understand what was needed to file a statement.

Makes a complex task easier. Forms that are comprehensive, but easy to fill in. Very helpful people to answer questions. Will use again.

Easy to use Q&A session makes filling in and submitting the 1040 very simple. Also easy to go back and review or edit entries.

The app simply did not work well. I wanted to review the document after filling it in. Every time I tried I got a blank page. So I sent it in and the IRS rejected it (an error in the spelling of my wife’s name). I had to get someone at your help desk to fix it. Even then, I did not get access to the document, which means I was never able to print it for my records. All in all, a most unpleasant experience.

The whole process took me less than 30 minutes. I’d say that was the easiest tax-filing experience I have ever had. Since I filed with MyExpatTaxes last year, almost everything was pre-filled. There are upgrade options available several times, which some may find obtrusive, but it was there in those moments where it may be necessary due to new or unique circumstances for the tax season. I simply considered the need and skipped through without any tricks or high pressure - very straightforward and intuitive. I will definitely be back next year. Thank you for an excellent experience.

Never thought filing taxes could be this straightforward and easy. And your information from the previous year is saved which makes filing for the next calendar year so much more efficient.

MyExpatTaxes was the best tax filing experience I have had. Their website was custom tailored to expats living abroad and considered all of the special circumstances involved. This performed better than a private accountant firm (with more accuracy) as well as other tax software, which did not take into account the special circumstances of living abroad. I highly recommend them!

It works. Some of their system is wonkey and hard to navigate around. Spent twenty minutes just trying to find how to get back to add a forgotten expense to my schedule C. Also they don't keep a copy of last year's invoice for the software, nor do they email a receipt for it's purchase. So there's no documentation to write off the purchase from them on your itemized return unless you remembered to go in and save your invoice last year(you'd think people making tax software would grasp that concept).

Filing taxes should NOT be this easy! This software hast completely cured procrastination for me. I wont incriminate myself by admitting how long I went without filing, but when I finally decided to sit down and catch up on my back taxes it was like two tons of weight lifting off my shoulders! I had assumed that popping up on the IRS's radar after so long would have left me buried in fines. That could not have been farther from the truth.

I just finished filing (on time) for my 3rd year in a row and it literally took me 25 minutes to do! To anyone out there who is currently in the position I was in 4 years ago quietly putting off the inevitable, TRUST ME, it's not worth the stress of waiting for the IRS to come and find you. Sit down, open an account with MyExpatTaxes, and get you finances back on track. You wont regret it.

Easy to use, thorough. Handled everything to actually submitting the returns. No problem with complex issues related to taxes U.S. and abroad.

The process was straight forward. The layout was simple. The save-points were good to avoid loosing progress. It was really straight forward for expats!
