I just left an abusive marriage in the…

I just left an abusive marriage in the middle of the night with what I could fit in my car. I couldn't afford a lawyer to file the papers because what little extra I did have went to try to get a restraining order and so I went with these guys. They basically charged me $298 for a practice run in how to file the paperwork myself. When trying to get a refund I was rerouted to a review section and trying to call to get one basically left me on hold for hours until I had to hang up and leave for work.

I am a veteran of 23 years and you would think i could get a little more help and respect. i dont have money to give or throw away. i do know there are other ways to let the world know of a horrific experience. but i also believe in letting someone redeem themselves. It hasnt happend yet! it just makes for a better lawsuit against the company. I'm still waiting for my papers to be mailed to me as stated.

I paid to get papers and got nothing

I paid to get papers and got nothing. I had to get some info called and talked to someone that said no problem, when get the info come back. They did not tell me you have to pay monthly. I Don't understand this process Take my money then keep the papers I paid for. I think it needs to be in very plain view that this site wants you to subscribe to them. I know they did not take their lawyers to look at forms that have not been completed. If the papers were completed and I used the lawyers time I might understand. They just held papers I paid for and they want you to pay more for that. This is just wrong.

Absolutely terrible product and service- false claims, save yourself time and money and hire a local, trusted, inexpensive mediator to complete your papers

I really never write reviews and even more so when they are bad as I give all companies the benefit of the doubt however I had to for this company and awful product and service! Absolutely TERRIBLE.. save yourself time and find a local, inexpensive mediator to write up your divorce papers. After spending several hours completing the online forms, you are unable to even view forms without clicking "download forms now" and once you do you are locked in with "NO money back guarantee." The formatting is terrible, there were large spaces and fonts of different unacceptable sizes throughout the pages.. short answers that I completed in the form were provided as answers to different questions and spread across multiple pages... in sum, provides a product there is no way would be accepted in a local court. If you attempt to go back in to fix errors, good look doing so as for one example, there are at least 15 different long sections each, labeled "assets" or "debts", for example so you'll spend 20 minutes just searching where to fix one mistake. They claim that your documents are reviewed by a professional however there is no way a professional reviewed my documents in the state they were provided.
Also, while completing your forms you will get pop ups offering you to complete "approved" online parenting courses for over $200+, however be careful as may not be accepted in your local court as they aren't in my county. Also if they were accepted in my local court, I found approved courses available for around $50 so they just trying to rob you of money.
Also, the forms will be in a pdf format, which you cannot open unless you have Adobe acrobat Professional. Neither I nor my husband have this expensive software on home computers.. I had to open these at work with this software, however my husband was unable to open them using any basic online .pdf reader.
The directions they provide you to submit to a local court were very confusing.
For and after all of the above reasons, I called to cancel service as I had to obtain the services of a trusted, local mediator to do the paperwork. Their "100% money back guarantee" is bogus as they denied my request stating that services were rendered as I had "downloaded" my forms however they don't provide you with a way to view your forms without "downloading"! Thus you are locked in without even viewing your files!!
If you try to call them, be prepared to be on the phone on hold for at least 15-20 minutes or more before speaking to someone.
The "case manager" they say is assigned to your case is false as it is just a general call center number.
The high reviews that they have on their website truly must be bogus if this is how they conduct business. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Truly robbery and a waste of time and money!

If I could give this a negative rating

If I could give this a negative rating, I would! Everything I call to get status, Alexis gives me the same answer, "its still in the mailroom" Today I called to cancel my platinum service and get my money order back. Alexis who is now named Frank tried to intimidate me into keeping the service.
I'm not going to pay or keep a service that I am not satisfied with.
I want my refund immediately, not later because I might change my mind.
This service is horrible!!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. I have actually never written a review for any company, restaurant, hotel, etc., but my experience with mydivorcepapers.com was so horrible that I felt the need to. My divorce was so simple. Both my ex and I are having an amicable divorce with no property, assets or debts to split. Very simple. Yet mydivorcepapers.com messed up the papers and forgot to write the address of my ex when they served him his papers so those were rejected too. My papers got rejected three times and then the court judge wrote a letter suggesting I use “real legal advice” and I hired a paralegal to fix my papers. The paralegal fixed my papers and said that mydivorcepapers.com filed the papers incorrectly and that it wasn’t the first time he has seen this. He said my divorce was simple and he didn’t know why they got it so wrong. Oh and even after all of this, mydivorcepapers.com refused to give me a refund even when I showed that the papers were rejected and they served my ex incorrectly. Did I mentioned I was a Platinum member and paid over $1000? The try to get you in at a low rate but then charge you all sorts of fees and such.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE!! TOTAL RIP OFF!!! bbb rating is F 79 complaints!!

This site is poorly set up. many questions do not allow you to answer for all circumstances. There is no assistance available with answering questions in the interview. when you call the customer service number you get a call center and they are not able to answer even simple questions. I checked with the Business Consumer Alliance they have a link for on their home page and found there were multiple complaints about this company with them I also looked them up on the Better Business Bureau website and found they are not accredited, have a rating of F with at least 79 complaints! I have requested a full refund and will be filing complaints with both of these organisations.

Waste of time

Waste of time.
It has taken so ling to prosess these forms that my spouce has hired a lawyer and the divorce is costing thousands of dollars more than planned. The web forms will not update with new information. Date fields will not accept new dates. Number fields will not accept new numbers and no one on there staff knows how to fix any of the problems. They just tell you that it looks right on their computer, but the forms do not print out with the correct information.

Bad experience, disappointed with lack of help and service

I have had the worst experience with My Divorce Papers.com. First I logged in from my phone to check on if my paperwork was ready and next thing I know i'm being charged an additional $250 for a full year subscription, when I only needed the initial $139, 30-day subscription. I was told I would be refunded after I went through several steps, and that's okay, but now 3 days later I am going to print off my paperwork to meet my soon to be ex, and my paperwork is no longer available saying I have only made a partial payment. So, now I'm meeting my ex for no reason, I've been charged over $400 for everything, my initial payment was in full and I've been holding for over 20 minutes waiting to talk to a case worker. I've written in but haven't gotten a response. What a frustrating and overwhelming nightmare.

This company is a complete Scam

This company is a complete Scam. Stay Away! I have sent a detailed email stating that the court in Fort Bend County (Houston, Texas) did not accept the paperwork. Had to hire an attorney. Then every month I would receive a $29.99 charge. Company will not answer their phones. I am out over $400. As a businessman, I am shocked the company is still open. This is a snatch and grab scam.

Time

I was under the impression that I could use this website to type up my divorce papers. I didn't understand that it would take more time because they had to do an interview.

They are extremely slow

They are extremely slow, even with the platinum service. When you call, you get someone on the phone who has no idea what they are talking about. Save yourself the frustration and take a day off of work to file this yourself in the court.

They are the worst!!

They are the worst!!! I've been divorced 4 other times and one of those I had 2 kids-put that one and another together & it didn't take this long. I've had to fill out and resend paperwork twice due to their incompetence. Now they've lost my money order-$210. Ridiculous. If you want a divorce to go as smoothly as possible, then do not use this company. They suck!!!
