These movers came highly recommended and had a large number of positive reviews, so I felt confident booking them. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
They provided a quote based on photos, despite me offering for them to come out and assess the job in person. That would have been fine if they had been honest about what they were willing or able to move. On moving day, the team immediately commented that the job was much bigger than expected, though they said they would still get it done.
I had already been clearing items from the garden and garage using my own vehicle. When their vans were supposedly “full,” they left to unload at the new property. A significant amount of items were left behind at the old house. When I asked if they would return to collect the remaining items, I was told they would only do so for an additional £200.
Large, bulky items were left in every room, including items clearly shown in the original photos. No boxes from upstairs were taken at all. As a result, we were left moving the remaining items ourselves late into the night.
They also caused damage to two walls in the old house. When I raised this, I was told they don’t remove anything attached to walls—which was untrue, as they clearly had. Despite pointing this out, I was told they were not liable.
I contacted them to request partial compensation, as the job was not completed and damage was caused, but my email was ignored. This is why I have chosen to leave this review.
Having moved many times before, I can honestly say I would have been better off hiring a van and doing it myself—it would have been quicker and far more efficient.
I have given an extra star only because the beds were reassembled at the new house (at an additional cost). However, they required final payment before I realised the full extent of what had been left behind.
Given the number of positive reviews, I’m genuinely surprised more people haven’t had a similar experience. Mine feels hard to believe as a one-off.

We used MV Removals to move from Exeter to Cardiff and they were great from start to finish! They arrived on time and were efficient in their work. On top of that, they were chatty and friendly throughout.

Upon getting to Cardiff they made sure that everything was where it should be, and even fixed an issue with one of our beds with no trouble at all.

The quote provided was very competitive relative to others we had received, and we are so grateful for their assistance!

We recently used Steve and his team for our final house move, and we couldn’t be happier with the service. On moving day, the team turned up with two vans and four people — all of them friendly, professional, and full of smiles. They worked quickly and efficiently, making what could have been another stressful day feel completely under control. They even went above and beyond by taking away a stack of rubbish we’d accumulated from our earlier relocation, all for a very reasonable cost, which was a huge help.

We genuinely couldn’t recommend Steve and his team highly enough. If you want a stress-free, efficient, and friendly moving experience, MV Removals is the way to go.

If I could give more than 5 stars I could. MV removals were incredible during our move, all of the team worked super hard, didnt grumble, went above and beyond, professional, polite, efficient and on time. I genuinely have had a stress free time moving home from. Seamless effort from the whole team, thank you Steve, Jade, Ryan, Matt and Terry they are worth every penny!

Don't waste your time with other Exeter removal companies, these guys are value for money and bloody good at what they do.

Matt and Ben were brilliant - extremely helpful, cheerful and efficient. The price was excellent and the service was too. Highly recommend!

An outstanding small business in the Exeter area.
Nothing was too much trouble. They provided an unbeatable quotation, arrived on time, packed everything extremely carefully (the previous day) and arrived early the following morning to pack the last pieces of furniture - and then drove the 200+ miles from Devon to Hertfordshire. The unpacking was equally as good with care taken to avoid knocks and bumps. If you are looking for a removal company I would say they are unbeatable. A first class service from start to finish.
