Avoid at All Costs – Completely Incompetent and Unreachable

I instructed this firm almost a year ago for what should have been a straightforward equity transfer with no mortgage complications. I paid the invoice the moment they confirmed readiness. Since then? Absolutely nothing. Zero progress. No email replies. No returned calls. No updates. No accountability.

This is not just poor service – it’s professional negligence. It’s as if they’ve vanished into thin air after taking payment. I’ve sent dozens of emails and left messages, all ignored. I’ve worked with solicitors before, but this is on a different level of incompetence.

At this point, I’m preparing to report them to the Law Society, the Legal Ombudsman, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority for what I believe is deliberate misconduct. If this is how they treat paying clients, they should not be allowed to operate.

Shameful. Untrustworthy. Disgrace to the profession.
DO NOT engage this firm under any circumstances.

Engaged Mundy's via Homeward Legal to carry out a simple transfer of equity on a property with no mortgage involved. I paid my invoice when they said they were in a position to complete the matter. That was 10 months ago! and still nothing. No return communication by phone or email from them, Worst solicitors I have ever dealt with. I am now considering reporting them to the Law Society and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Do not use this company!

Avoid. They should be shut down

Avoid if you want to complete on your purchase or sale. The worst conveyancing company I have ever used. They were highly recommended by Homeward Legal (also known as Best Value Conveyancing), and from initial contact to eventual completion (having missed 2 completion dates all thanks to Mundy's), everything was wrong.
Bar one email at the start, all communication with them was one way - only when I called them! Every single time when they told me I'd receive a call back from someone, it did not happen. Empty promises, no one knew what was happening with my file, we missed 2 completion dates because Mundy's did not do any work on my purchase the first time and then didn't send the completion statement with enough time which led to the second missed completion. Communication was non existent. You can call them till you're blue in the face, they will not listen to a word or deliver on their promises. Every staff member I spoke to at Mundy's did nothing but continuously apologise for all their errors & stress they'd caused me. I mean who wants apologies again and again. And again! Just do what you're charging me for!! Instructing Mundy's was the biggest mistake I made. There is no way in hell that any of the 5 star reviews here are legit. Absolute shambles of a company. Do not use them.

Avoid!

Do not use this firm! We were referred to their services by Homeward Legal and they have been awful from start to finish. There is zero communication, the solicitors are rude (to clients as well as other solicitors), and they lie about work they have done. We ending up doing pretty much all the work ourselves in the end. Even on completion day we had to chase them as they didn’t send our funds to the sellers solicitors until after we had chased them to find out what on earth was going on around 4pm! We regret using both them and Homeward Legal

Would give a 0 if I could. No communication, continual chasing but don’t hear. Told everything would be complete on a certain date, turned up to house to find out their solicitors had not heard from ours. AVOID

Wouldn't recommend

First time buyers so unsure of process or how long anything takes usually but I think Mundy's certainly made the process more stressful.
Communication was okay at first and was originally told they would be able to accept forms signed electronically etc but no, everything had to be printed and posted which cost a lot. They're in the dark ages still.
Communication really slowed down and eventually stopped. We had to do a lot of chasing and checking of documents. They got information wrong with names, amounts of money etc. Then they made a complete oversight during the purchase and stopped communicating which was extremely stressful. Had to get the legal ombudsman involved which has also taken 6 months after completion to get any resolution. Avoid!

I rented a property from Mundys in…

I rented a property from Mundys in 2020- I found the rental team rude, inefficient and really not interested as me because I was just a tenant. It took two months to get my deposit back and only once I went to the tenants tribunal. When I decided to buy a property I purposely filtered out properties marketed by Mundy’s.

I had a property going in Auction and was let down by the solicitor recommended to me as time frame too short for entry. We were up against it, Mundys came to the rescue, literally produced the legal pack and sent it to the auction house in one day.... unbelievable. I found them very helpful and I prefer the more personal service. They have since quoted me for commercial leasing, for one of my properties, which I am considering. More than happy to recommend them. Thankyou.

Left my matter half way…

They were dealing with my property purchase and at one point during the process they decided to stop working on my purchase. Kept calling them, sending so many emails but no response at all from Mundys. At least reply my email to tell me what is the current situation on my matter so I can instruct another solicitor to take it from here. Their attitude of not responding to their customers is very unprofessional.

Great service

I am a first time buyer and I found Mundy's through internet research.
To be honest at the beginning I was a bit reluctant to use them as they have lots of negative reviews, however I must say that in my case, they have sorted all the paperwork in quite a short time.
Alun Richards replied to my email fairly promptly and he made sure I was aware of the course of action.
Sue was also very helpful and professional.
I moved into my new flat only two months after I made an offer.
I would give it 5 stars if at some point during the sale,I had to call several times to get a reply. But that problem has then been solved.Overall I would highly recommend it!

Lack of service

It’s taken much longer than necessary to complete my purchase and sale. They don’t call back and you have to call them daily for them to actually do their job even though they charge a fortune. Really disappointed with their service. I would not recommend

Cannot state enough how awful this…

Cannot state enough how awful this company is,so much so that they left my mother homless.
We were given keys for my elderly and recently widowed mothers ground floor flat in Hereford on a Friday. Moved most of her belonings into flat and was in the process of installing a new kitchen on the Tuesday when we were rang by estate agents saying she had to get out and return the keys as Mundays as there had been a mistake as Alan Richards had not finalised flat sale because there was a problem but he had given the estate agent the go ahed to give us the keys.
It took them over NINE WEEKS to sort the mess out leaving my mother in so much stress that we had to take her to the Dr's who put her on anti depression tablets. Never cared, never apologised but still took her money.

Diabolical Service

Diabolical Service - do NOT use this firm. Customer service is severely lacking, when you call them, they never identify who they are when they answer the phone, I found the general manner to be robotic and obtuse.

Thanks to them the vendor pulled out because they took way too long, I'm a first time buyer, the process should have been plain sailing; they have no sense of urgency. I received a bog standard email casually informing me the vendor had pulled out - surely this is something that should have been relayed to me by telephone.
On numerous occasions, I telephoned their offices, asking for my solicitor, Alun Richards to call me back, he never returned any of my phone calls, I would never recommend this firm, absolutely useless. I deserve a full refund and compensation for losing the property I so loved.
