Terrible company, avoid at all cost. Very easy to get a mobile phone contract with them but almost impossible to cancel the contract. Lowest of lowest in Spain.
A bunch of liars
A bunch of liars! They are nice until you sign, promise you a date to install quick the internet, they give you a date and time, you will wait for nothing, nobody comes. Then they try to tell, you where not there and want to blame it on you. This keeps repeating… I don’t know how many days we already lost, not being able to work and they still play their game…
No Internet for a week
Great when it worked. Disaster if you need support. Our Internet has been down for over a week and regardless how many hours I spend on the phone and chat, we still don't have Internet back. Many others in our road have the same problem.

At present trying to have Movistar satellite internet fitted. They have just cancelled appointment no.4. The customer service from this company is abysmal. Trying to find somebody outside of their call centre to call is impossible. If possible avoid this company as if it had the plague.
Movistar cancel plans after recharge
Movistar cancel my active phone line just after recharge. Typically steal money, and decline provide any service. 3h with whatsapp useless support, and 30 with phone result in nothing.

If a zero star was available then that's what I would have left. The worst company ever, so sorry we left Azartel, only did as we thought we were getting faster service, what a joke!!! One day the service is up next it's down they even disconnected our service by mistake. If someone could actually recommend a better more realible company please do.....as Moviestar sucks!

Don’t use this prepaid service ever! If you are within your €10 per 28 days data then it’s all good! But this is the measure of a company when you don’t. I’m prepaid, which means I’m paying up front for my data. Nooo, in fact they charge you for going over your (remember) prepaid. And they don’t tell you this, in advance. Then they charge you €10 Euros blanket fee…you contest it, and they say it’ll take 30 days to reimburse you. But you need data and pay an additional €10 to then be told that because it’s within the 28 days of your plan, you can only be activated you upgrade your plan by spending more money! 17 calls later, no access to supervisors or managers, still No access to data! Please do not use this company as their processes are are built on taking your money, and not supporting you!!!
Terrible customer support in a clear case
I wanted to provide a warning regarding Movistar for their extremely unprofessional service during a recent matter. Despite giving them multiple opportunities to resolve the issue, they failed to do so. I had ordered a subscription with a 4G modem offering unlimited internet without a contract, which was supposed to be shipped to me. I informed them that I was abroad and did not wish to start the subscription until a few weeks later, and they assured me that this would not be a problem. They were supposed to call me to arrange delivery, and only after the delivery was made would I start paying.
However, I never received any calls from them. Eventually, I decided that Starlink was a more interesting option and chose to proceed with that instead, letting the Movistar matter drop. Despite this, I started receiving invoices repeatedly, which were cancelled each time since I never received the service. Then, I received another invoice regarding a modem that I supposedly did not return. I filed another complaint, but they responded saying they had analyzed the invoice and found no errors.
The frustrating part is that I never received a call, never received the modem, and they should be able to verify that it was never delivered or activated. After about 15 emails, I grew tired and informed them that I would stop responding to their messages and that I would report the issue to my bank as a case of fraud.
I have Movistar for my fibre internet…
I have Movistar for my fibre internet at my home on Costa blanca. It is off more time than on. I am sick of it coming on for a few days, then going off and having to get a friend to talk to Movistar in soak ash as they will not talk to me in English ( I understand that’s my fault ) only to stay in , then they do not show. Then next day they show, say problem fixed and then three days later same same. It’s costing me a fortune and all the frustration. I sometimes work from home and I just can’t hear as I cannot rely on them. Very bad service.
Most dishonest company around
It's 20 years that i subscribed phone and internet contacts with several companies in many countries and I can assure that Movistar is the most dishonest and crappiest of all. I opened internet, TV and phone plans at the shop with the employee Maryuri. They charged me for double contracts despite clarifying the issue multiple times both in person and at the phone. Crappy internet connection ever, with signal disappearing all the time (despite paying for the best service) and they ignored all my requests for support. They (Maryuri) chased me to get "free" devices which turned out to not be free at all, only after having signed the contract. Also, i specifically asked for 2 SIM cards for international calls, which was confirmed at the shop, only to discover from the bills that the service could only be activated after 3 months, so i had to pay for 3 months of extra charges without being warned. I totally recommend anyone to stay far from Movistar and in particular from this shop. You'll be few hundreds euros down in no time with no chance to get anything back, as their customer service is a complete waste of time, they keep you at the phone for hours, pass from one operator to the other and eventually nothing is solved even if they say so. Total scam and disrespect for the customers.
Worst company I’ve ever had to deal with
I sold a villa in Lanzarote in October 2022. I personally dropped the equipment back to a Movistar store in my home town of Las Palmas. The archaic system is that you put the equipment in a lock box for which you have to get a special code in order to lock the safe… evidence of which I have, I have the photo of the equipment in the box, I have the code and an email confirming that the equipment has been returned. We then move to the shop assistant to cancel my account.. this she did confirming that there was nothing else to do.. you’d think that would be it, account closed? No! I’m still here in April 2024… yes April 2024, and they are still taking payments every month from my bank account, as well as taking payments for the same line from the new owners. The have admitted liability, and apologise profusely for their error, but can I get my full refund, absolutely not.. they say they want to send a cheque.. who does that these days? where would they send it to? to the address on the account of the villa I sold to someone else .. fabulous!!
I have filled in a reclamciones form today.. let’s see how that goes.. it’s the most frustrating company I have ever ever dealt with in my 54 years.
They admit they owe me money but won’t pay out, lawyers next I think… absolutely diabolical and I know I’m not alone, something needs to be done about this shocking customer service, I’ve been on a chat online for 5 hrs just today just to be told that the customers service online chat isn’t authorised to deal with my situation, that’s not including the hours since 18th March.. I’ll keep you posted 🙄
WORST customer service for high price
I have called three times to change my WiFi subscription to a new location. The ladies on the phone were impossible to understand, and rude.
When they finally made the change. I was told that they could not do the install at my new apartment, so they changed the service to a radio WiFi installation. This didn’t work great, but it was what it was… A month later, I receive the bill, and they charged me for TWO subscriptions at different addresses. Turns out they have never changed my subscription, but they have ADDED my new address as a seperate and new subscription. 😡

Last 6 weeks I have tried 3 times to transfer my prepaid mobile line to Movistar. I went there Malaga plaza mayor store, they told me prepaid changes can only be done via online or phone. So I did 2 times online, movistar called me to verify, but I never received the sim card nor these portability completed. 12.03 I called their customer service, she took all my details and told me order placed. I would receive email. But after waiting a full day I didn’t receive this email, so I called them again. Different representative told me, he cannot find my order, and that prepaid changes can only be done at the physical store.

Purchased Airalo eSIM for travel in Spain primarily Madrid but also day trips to Segovia, Avila, Toledo and Cuenca. Terrible service in every city including Madrid. Tried tech support. Purchased 10 gig and had so much trouble finding connections that only used half of it. Will choose a better service next time!

Throttling speed should be illegal
Checked signal in my rural house with all available networks. Movistar was best and since i already had Movistar SIM i went and got unlimited data (no fibre here) contract. But speed is 1/10th of my limited prepaid card on the same network. Will cancel.

Two times they promised me a technican two times they did not come. Waiting over a week. Whatsapp support of Movistar is not very helpful (saying I should call. But why should I call when I contacted your support and my phone does not work). Also extremely expensive.
This company needs to be split up by spanish government!
