I had a move today at 12pm
I had a move today at 12pm. This guy who helped me charged me £90 for 2 hours for 3 things which then I added a few more items as it was in the allowance. He rushed the whole process and made me have anxiety and be stressed. He wanted to take the fridge and washing machine at the same time like he was desperate and was in a rush and had another job. How on earth can we take a washing machine and a fridge at the same time?!! He made us do all the work by putting it on the trolley and pushing it and lifting because I had people with me. Instead of putting my sofa on the trolley he dragged it on the floor leaving the sofa at the bottom damaged with holes and marks in it. The actual leg on the sofa broke off and instead of him being sympathetic he said “I can buy it on eBay for £5”. I am really upset that the sofa has been damaged and he specifically asked me to do a “good review” and I explained I was upset with the sofa damage and then he suddenly started saying I didn’t pay for help and only for the van when in my messages with him I made sure to ask for help as I knew I couldn’t do this alone. Bare in mind the drive between both properties was only 5 minutes and first one had a lift and second one was ground floor. So unprofessional.
The fact that you edited your original response shows the kind of service you provide and the way you treat customers.
There was no goodwill gesture to help it is what your job is. We were never informed to remove the sofa legs otherwise we would of happily did that to avoid damage caused by your staff member.

I had the worst moving experience ever…
I had the worst moving experience ever with Moveroo last Sunday 15th March (Mother's Day)
I booked Moveroo for the second time because I previously had a good experience with Talal and his mate a couple of years ago. Back then, I had 2 movers for 2 hours for £100, so this time I paid £120 expecting a similar service. Instead, only 1 driver, Ali, arrived in a white van — not Talal and not a Yellow Moveroo van as advertised! I had been messaging Talal and was fully expecting him to come. He later said he would be late and then, at the last minute, messaged to say Ali was on his way. I didn't have time to chat as I was already exhausted with moving all my stuff downstairs in the hallway.
I had already shared photos of all my belongings with Talal and explained that everything had been placed in the downstairs hallway ready to move. I do not understand how they thought it was acceptable to send just 1 man for this job. I paid £120 because I expected proper help, not to end up doing most of the moving myself.
When Ali arrived, he stood by the van while my female housemate, my children, and I carried the items out ourselves. At the new property, he then refused to carry the remaining items because, according to him, “time is almost up.” He demanded extra money to continue, while someone, probably Talal, kept calling him to check on the job. He only helped with a few heavy items, and I ended up carrying the rest myself from the ground floor to the second floor with no proper support unless I paid more.
I did not want to pay extra because I had already paid for 2 hours, and this job could easily have been completed within that time if 2 movers had been sent as expected. Instead, the whole experience was unprofessional, misleading, stressful, and extremely disappointing. I was left with severe back pain from doing so much of the lifting myself.
Disgusting unprofessional service. I will never use this company again and will be choosing a different moving company in future.
Edit: thanks for reply. This is full of lies and bullshit! Nothing was offered and confirmed and agreed. Please provide evidence!

Moveroo saved the day for us!
Talal really helped us out in a very difficult situation - we were let down by the removals company we had booked who walked away from the job at 2pm! I rang Moveroo - having used them before - and Talal mustered a van and two men by 3.45pm! Such a fantastic effort at extremely short notice. Talal/Moveroo really saved us that day and he was very calm and helpful. I would use Moveroo again.

Reliable
Being reliable is one of the most important characteristics that a business needs, which is exactly what this moving company has, arrived at mine on the 1st of Jan when usually people charge extortionate prices, but not this business, had a lot of boxes and things but everything was stacked efficiently, offloading was smooth, friendly and reliable 5/5 stars deserved.
Good
I booked two vans and four movers as I wasn’t sure what time I’d get the keys and needed to be out by 1pm. This was absolutely the right call – we wouldn’t have had time for two trips, so this setup worked much better than going for a smaller one–van man & van option.
Pros:
• Excellent communication throughout
• On the day they send a live Waze link so you can track them + get real ETA
• Furniture blanket–wrapped and handled carefully
• They genuinely tried everything to get my sofa in (in the end the angles just didn’t work – a glazier came next day and got it through the window)
Cons:
• You do need to project manage a bit. For example, at one stage 3–4 men were dismantling the bed when two could have been doing that while the others progressed other tasks.
• It does depend on who you get on the day. Two movers were great, one was less so – language barrier and not reading labels meant directing a lot of where to put things and having to rearrange later (e.g. toiletries in the living room instead of bathroom).
• Some small essentials accidentally went back on the van (TV plug and sofa bolts!)
However – they did return these two days later, refitted the bolts for me, and even gave me a 32” TV another customer didn’t want, which was a really kind gesture and made up for the inconvenience.

Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant! I was completely stuck with the removal of my sofas as the other company let me down. Called Moveroo. They were so helpful they rearranged their following days work to fit me in. THEN...if I wanted, Richard could collect my sofas that evening, when I get home from work. WOW! How is that for service. WHO does that these days!! Go all out for your customer. If it wasn't for you I'd have to postpone my carpet fitting and the delivery of my new suite. With uour expert help I'm still on track with everything. Thank you soooo much guys. I will definitely recommend your team.

Worst moving experience ever. I booked Moveroo for the third time, but this driver was a complete disgrace. I had already shared photos of my bulky items (wardrobe and sofa) and the job was agreed in advance.
When he arrived, he flat-out refused to move them, making excuses that they “wouldn’t fit” — even though we brought them in ourselves before. He just stood around while my partner and I carried the sofa out with a toddler to manage. At the new place, he refused again, saying “time is up” and demanded extra money.
This man was clearly wasting time on purpose just to squeeze more money. Totally unprofessional, lazy, and unfair. We basically ended up doing the move ourselves while paying him to watch.
Disgusting service — avoid this driver at all costs. Moveroo needs to take responsibility instead of letting scammers like this ruin customers’ moves.

Stressful last min cancellation and rip off
Tl;dr - hidden fees, terrible customer service. All around stressful.
Had a terrible experience. First the quoted 90 pounds for the whole move on the phone (for reference AnyVan quoted 123 for the whole move + dismantling my bedframe regardless of time), then they sent an invoice of 240 so I cancelled then said they would do it for 140 so I said ok. My move was scheduled for 10:30am. At 10:45 I get a text saying they can’t make it. They will be in touch to reschedule. The person I was communicating with refused to answer the call or any of my messages. I called the call center and the people there said they don’t really know as they are part of the “reception team” whatever that means. I was about to book another company when the guy calls back and says he’s arranged for the pick up for 12:30 at this point I didn’t know how long it would take me to get another company so I said ok. The driver himself was great. Turns out though that moveroo was paying him 100 and pocketing the rest of the money. They basically take bookings and then farm them out so if a driver cancels there’s limited accountability. I paid 70 in advance. I was in the van with the stuff (I helped carry most of the stuff by the way), and I get multiple messages from the moveroo guy saying I need to pay 210 as it’s going to be three hours (it hadn’t event been 2 at the time) and they had anticipated two hours. I said ok let’s calculate once we get there, but I’ll pay the driver cash. This dude keeps messaging me saying I need to pay immediately, keeps calling the driver to get me to pay and even told the driver to send him a pic of the cash. Both the driver and I couldn’t understand this guy’s stress as I was literally sitting in the van with all my stuff and we hadn’t even reached the destination. Terrible experience, not worth the stress, hidden costs and a complete rip off.
Amendment - response to Moveroo’s response: they offered going with the van - I did not ask for it and was planning to take the tube. This was not a concession, they said “the van has room for up to 2 people” without event being asked. Notice how they only dispute what I said about the fee - which, by the way I never said no to paying, just to calculate it correctly once we actually reached the destination. It also only took an hour of driving, FYI. The big issue was the last min cancellation and then the harassment to pay up as if I was trying to dine and dash even though we were mid service and I had already paid the deposit. Even the driver found this guy annoying and said he didn’t want to work with them again.
