Poor Quality
My partner bought for me the Valerie (in red) leather jacket for a Christmas present, it is coming up two years. I have worn the jacket I think about 15-20 times all for short rides, not that that is the point. The lining has split on the inside, the cotton on the seam has just come away. I contacted MotoGirl, explained the situation and sent them a couple of photographs, showing the very limited wear in the jacket and the gaping whole in the lining. Their reply; "your jacket was purchased in 2022 it is no longer covered by our year warranty. What I would suggest is taking it to your local Dry Cleaners, they should be able to restitch the lining for you. This does not impact on the safety of the garment. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to contact me”.
Whilst I appreciate this is out of it’s year guarantee I honestly thought they may offer to stitch the lining up, they did not even offer! For a company that states they are hand making and hand stitching everything themselves this was a poor response. I have an Akito leather jacket I bought second hand in 2000, that must be at least 25 years old there are no defects with this jacket and worn hundreds of times. I have come to the conclusion the quality of the lining and the cotton used is substandard, comparing this with another leather jacket, and the follow up support is not brilliant. The jacket cost £289.00, not value for money. It would have been really helpful, reassuring and a positive customer experience if they had offered to repair the lining, given they are the creators of this piece of clothing and know what the best options would be. The fact there was no discussion about options indicates their lack of support for customers.
