Pedro and Jin, our exceptional bird photography guides, embarked on an unforgettable 11-day expedition with us in Colombia. We extend our profound gratitude for sharing their passion and expertise with us. These renowned photographers possess an unparalleled knowledge of the avian fauna of Colombia, and the locations we visited were breathtakingly beautiful. The sheer abundance and diversity of birds far exceeded our wildest expectations.

From the outset, Pedro and Jin had a shared objective with us: to capture 100 “lifers.” Remarkably, we surpassed this goal, with our current tally reaching an astonishing 225. We have yet to process a few more days of photography.

Pedro and Jin’s contributions extended beyond bird photography; they demonstrated exceptional patience and assistance throughout our journey. We encountered a few challenges at the outset, including missing flights and losing luggage. The luggage eventually arrived over two separate days, necessitating our return to the Cali airport on three occasions. However, Pedro and Jin promptly adjusted our schedule, ensuring that we had ample time to photograph the remarkable sites we had planned. Their professionalism and understanding were invaluable, and we could not have asked for more.

Each destination we visited offered unique accommodations, and some even provided delectable homestyle Colombian cuisine. Our photography skills were significantly enhanced during our trip, particularly in capturing the demanding techniques required for the Cloud Forests. The most gratifying aspect was that Pedro and Jin reviewed our photographs throughout the entire expedition and provided invaluable suggestions. Their expertise was instrumental in our success, and we deeply appreciate their guidance.

Now, we have forged lifelong friendships and are already planning our next adventure. Our aspirations are to explore the Equator in our next excursion!

Beyond taking us from one place to another, they accompanied us with genuine care and constant attention that could be felt in every moment.
