MOOV RENT A CAR DOES NOT REFUND THE DEPOSIT!

AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Moov Rent A Car.

First, the car handover was problematic. The employee arrived almost one hour late at night. Instead of the Skoda automatic that I had reserved and paid for, I was initially given a Mitsubishi Space Star in average condition, with the explanation that we had booked a Kia Picanto — which was not correct. The next morning (which disrupted our plans), the correct Skoda automatic was delivered.

At that point, further issues began. My credit card was declined, even though it is a standard embossed credit card that works everywhere else. Revolut payment also did not go through. As a result, I was required to pay the deposit via bank transfer.

The deposit amount was 1,375 EUR — a significant sum of money. I was clearly told that the refund would be processed within 10–20 days after returning the vehicle, and even faster because it was paid by transfer.

The vehicle was returned on time and without any damage, which was confirmed by the employee via WhatsApp. Despite this, 34 days have now passed and the deposit has still not been refunded.

I have received only brief and unclear responses suggesting that my bank details are being “forwarded between departments,” but no actual transfer has been made.

This situation is very stressful and disappointing, especially during what was supposed to be a family holiday. I strongly encourage future customers to carefully review all terms and check independent reviews before booking.

This has really nothing to do with any package and/or insurance; this is called service which you don't have experience with. Plus how can you talk about a team when you work individual. Such a joke I hope you'll find another business which suits you better. Good luck anyhow, i won't come back to you.

I can write a long story, but please rent at professional companies instead of this start-up store. Check-in AND return one hour+ waiting even when you whatsapp in advance. High deposits and high fees for full fuel to pay in advance. They advise to leave the car behind with keys in the car too?!?

Again, think twice when your rent here.

We rented a 2022–2023 Skoda Fabia…

We rented a 2022–2023 Skoda Fabia during our vacation in Palma de Mallorca and were extremely pleased with the experience! The car was in great condition, clean, and very comfortable, ideal for exploring the island. The rental process was quick, smooth, and the staff were friendly and professional. We totally recommend this company and highly suggest choosing the Red Pack, it made everything even easier and worry-free.

Run away!!!
Too bad I can't put zero stars.
The same experience as many with a deposit scam. They have the unfortunate habit of not making the difference between deposit and payment.
€2,750 since August 25 on their account. A few emails to thank us for being patient. I have referred the matter to the European Consumer Council.
I am waiting in vain for my money.
It's a scandal.
The worst of all is that they did this to our son for his first trip abroad. A thug mentality.
So forget the note they had to buy on Google

Stay away from this place

Stay away from this place. They took a 2,750 euro deposit and still haven't returned it. The car was returned on August 8th, 40 business days have passed. I asked them to provide information about when the money was returned so I could contact my bank and Stripe; maybe the problem is on their end. They've been silent, and they don't respond to messages or emails.

Simply the best

Guys, so far it was the best experience with renting a car. I felt like premium customer from the beginning. Really.

Moov are doing great work. This was so far my best experience with car renting.
No crazy contracts, perfect (I do not fear) insurance. Great communication.

Also clean nice working car. With almost none waiting for pickup.

I have read other one star reviews and must say, that i do not understand that.

1) Deposit is blocked by a bank not car rental company for most of the time, so Moov is not responsible for most of that

2) We used the full insurance (for the fair price in my opinion) and we had no problems at all, no deposits, no nothing, no fear of anything. Everything was seamless.

3) My message to Moov - I do not know car rental market, but maybe change your offer only to a renting with full coverage insurance to avoid one star reviews and annoying customers.

Stressful refund policy

The rental itself with Moov Rent a Car was fine, but the deposit refund process has been very disappointing. I hadn’t realised their terms allow up to 30 days for the deposit to be released — which is excessive and unusual — but even that deadline has now passed and the refund of £2400 still hasn’t arrived.

I’ve had to raise the issue with my bank to get it investigated, as communication from Moov has been slow and latterly non-existent. It’s a shame, because the rental experience was otherwise good, but the lack of follow-through on the refund really lets them down.

My advice would be to avoid unless you get the top tier package that requires no deposit, but, frankly at the quoted prices you'd be better off with a more established hire company.

Overall, stressful in the extreme, simply down to the refund policy.

BANK helped in getting the deposit back.

Euro 2,750 Deposit that was not returned for almost 3 months ( Car was returned in good condition on 13 June 2025 ), has been successfully gotten back, thanks to our bank Revolut.

After many months of lies from Moov, we decided to pursue the matter via our bank. We innocently believed Moov when on 7 August 2025 they had said " Intranet problems caused money not sent and money has been sent after rectifying their IT issues. We waited and waited and checked our bank account daily. On 15 August 2025, they replied on Google reviews that money will be sent on 15 August 2025 and we waited and waited.

We started communication with our bank in early August. The bank did not fail us and helped us get back our deposit. We are very thankful to Revolut for solving this. Moov had the audacity of blaming the bank for the retaining the deposit.

Since the deposit has been returned via the help of the bank, I will not be taking down my negative reviews ( as earlier requested by Moov ). No tourist should go through this.

I rented a car from Moov Rent A Car

I rented a car from Moov Rent A Car. The first time everything was fine, but the second time was a nightmare. I returned the car on June 13, and today is August 28 — more than two and a half months later — and I still haven’t received my deposit of €1375 back. A week ago, after constant pressure, they finally wrote that they had made the transfer, but of course, no money has arrived. Meanwhile, my bank continues to charge me monthly interest on my credit card because of this blocked amount. Who will cover that?

Communication is a disaster: they never answer phone calls, and WhatsApp is pure torture — I send messages and they either ignore me or reply after weeks. This level of service is totally unprofessional and unacceptable.

Alquilé un coche con Moov Rent A Car. La primera vez todo salió bien, pero la segunda fue una pesadilla. Devolví el coche el 13 de junio y hoy es 28 de agosto — más de dos meses y medio después — y todavía no he recibido el reembolso de mi depósito de 1375 €. Hace una semana, después de tanta insistencia, por fin me escribieron diciendo que habían hecho la transferencia, pero por supuesto el dinero nunca llegó. Mientras tanto, mi banco sigue cobrando intereses cada mes en mi tarjeta de crédito por esa cantidad bloqueada. ¿Quién se hará cargo de eso?

La comunicación es desastrosa: nunca contestan las llamadas telefónicas, y hablar por WhatsApp es una auténtica tortura — envío mensajes y me ignoran o responden después de semanas. Este nivel de servicio es totalmente poco profesional e inaceptable.

Avoid these guys!

Avoid! Save yourself a headache and rent elsewhere.

We thought that with all the great reviews elsewhere, that this would be a great option for our Mallorca trip. Wrong.

They ran a EUR 2,750 "pre-authorization charge" on my credit card, per their contract, with the explanation that it would be reversed immediately when we returned the car in good condition. Pre-existing minor scratches and scuffs were noted on the Rental Agreement at pickup and photos were taken. So far, so good.

Upon returning the car, with no additional scratches or scuffs other than the original, we were told that everything looked good and that they would process our refund immediately. No signature needed. They would "email me the receipt". Hmmmm... OK.

Ten days later - no refund. We were told it takes 15-31 days for our bank to process a refund and that the delay was entirely due to our bank (Chase Bank). A call to chase confirmed that this was B.S. and that they process all refunds within 24-48 hours.

I contacted Moov again two days later and asked for proof that a refund had been processed. They provided a screenshot of said refund and reiterated , once again, that the delay was due to our bank, and that they hoped our funds would be returned as quickly as possible. No bueno.

At 25 days after our return, I informed them that I would be disputing the charges if the refund was not forthcoming immediately. No reply.

Upon filing a dispute over the charges with Chase Bank, and providing thorough documentation as well as before/after photos, Moov Rent-A-Car informed Chase that the full pre-authorization charge was being kept due to "damage to the vehicle", despite photos showing no such damage.

Fortunately, Chase honored the dispute and refunded the funds to me in the end, 47 days after I returned the car in Mallorca.

The same old story again. If you return the car, the deposit refund process takes 30 business days, not calendar days. If you don't want to pay that amount, you can choose the red package, which doesn't require a deposit.

Also your car have two new scratches when you return the car (car was new with only 5 months) that we should have charged to the card and it was not done out of courtesy since they were light marks

get ready to pay

I don't buy the google reviews! no proper check in, feels super shady. We were waiting outside the airport for some time, a guy comes, asks us to buy the fuel in advance in almost twice the price, and to pay a deposit of almost 3000 euros (not a credit card save, but an actual money transfer..). I explained that I don't have this kind of money on my account even, and had to pay additional fee. Later we could not leave because there was some problem with our car who may have been double booked, so that was quite a scare. Return?? send a snapshot of where you parked and leave the key in the car.. :) -- All in all, I go with a known brand (read: established) next time.

If you, as a customer, want to choose the most basic package and think you'll have comprehensive insurance, I think the mistake in this case lies with the customer, not our team.

If you choose the red package, no tank or fuel, it's that simple.

We had an excellent experience with…

We had an excellent experience with Moov Rent a Car! The car (a Mazda 2 with around 40,000 km) was delivered directly to the airport terminal at 1 AM – smooth and right on time. While the car had a few minor cosmetic imperfections, it was in great condition overall and perfect for getting around the island with our family of three.

The return process was also very easy. We received clear instructions 24 hours in advance, and everything went exactly as explained.

Overall, a smooth, hassle-free rental experience. Highly recommended!

Good to deal with. No problems.

Used them at Palma airport. I've detailed my whole (very good) experience on Google Maps, but from my experience they are a highly trustworthy, deliver what you expect and there's no upselling.
