Amazing course with results for me. I have studied guitar when i was younger, had a break and then was picking up random youtube or patreon videos. This course is different in every single way: It is not a private lesson, but almost an ideal substitute. It was adapted to my schedule and expectations. It starts from simple advice and exercises and quickly helps you reach your goals through specific milestones. Some of the goals i reached faster than i expected. There are video calls and in general you need to post your progress via video but even for someone like me i felt completely comfortable doing it and saw actual results through it. The instructor, Lukas, is an approachable guy, you can ask any questions and the responses are spot on because the entire course is tailored to you in the first place. This is not a course that you need to follow step by step and then some make it and some don’t. From the start it was adapted specifically to me. Very satisfied.

The course provides everything you need to become an advanced player. The structure is one that keeps you engaged and holds you accountable through many action items that allow you to demonstrate that you’re grasping the given concepts. There’s no way you can’t improve if you simply follow the instructions and stay actively engaged. Great course!

I’m only at the beginning of the course, but I already really appreciate how it’s organized. The progression is gradual and well paced, allowing steady improvement without jumping between unrelated lessons. It feels much more structured and consistent.

The best decision I've ever made was to join Modern Guitar Course. It's been a lot to learn but also a lot of fun. Real progress being made but it is up to you to do the exercises and make progress. 20 minutes a day really get you somewhere.

I've been watching YouTube videos for over 6 months, and took 2 different courses before this, but this course is the only one that made it "click" for me, just after 1 action item on pentatonic, it suddenly expanded my fretboard visualization for improvisation. And the community support is a very big plus!!

I've been an MGC student for 3 months, and I can admit I have become a better guitarist and musician. Is it pricey? Expensive? For sure not the cheapest! But if it works well, it's worth it.

At the beginning, I was scared as hell, I had tone of doubts, and now I can finally say that it was a really good decision.

Can you become a great guitarist without any courses (No matter is it MGC or smth else)? - Probably yes! But if you feel you need a course, and you're looking for a course, this is definitely a great, safe place to choose.

MGC is not a magic pill, it won't give a superpower, but you will learn in a good, well structured way. This is what I needed and it works for me.

I'm part of the MGC program for about 2 months now. The course itself is made of 90 lessons, video's by Lukas Kocka. Very clear and short videos going to the point. It starts from the basics, including the necessary theory but focussing on the important skills to progress technically.
Regularly the student has to post "action items" to show his/her progression and get approval from the teachers (Lukas, Sebastian and Jomar) before moving to the next lesson. Besides, there are also weekly live sessions where you can freely join to ask your questions about the course directly to the teachers.
By signing in, you get a life time access to the lessons package but you also get access to a "student community" with whom you can interact and appreciate the feedback on e.g. the course.
While the community is about to reach a 1,000 members, I still have the feeling that I get all the attention from Lukas. In other words, the financial investment is totally worth it!

The first experience was a call with Sebastian who carefully explained how MGC works and was also very interested in my motivation, story and made shure if our interests were compatible.... It made me decide to join MGC and I haven't had any regrets so far. The way Lukas has set up the learning curve is very versatile, mixing theory (but in a very understandable way) with technique exercises. It's all there....clear exercises, a community which helps one another to get and stay motivated...there's no competition, just help and support. I guess you best enter as a somewhat intermediate guitar player (a pure beginner should first learn some basic techniques). It gets me out of my comfort zone and challenges me to get better. I'm sure I'll be a better player month by month with a real chance of becoming a shredder! You just have to put in the effort, supported by Lukas and his crew and supported by the whole community. Modern guitar course is basically consisting of several individual parts:

1. Videotutorials categorized into 15 levels (lifetime access)
2. the weekly calls (lifetime access)
3. a very nice community (lifetime access)
4. a personal coaching consisting of 3 sessions 30mins each, starting directly after you have subscribed

I have joined a few weeks ago and here is what I can say until now.

The course is designed for intermediate guitar players who want become better and play like the pros. I am sure that beginners could also use this course to start but the overall feeling on what is expected seems more directed towards intermediate guitarists.

There is a 60-day moneyback guarantee included if you do not get better. This is linked to certain items e.g. you need to attend the weekly calls regularly and some other stuff to make sure that you have really tried. Very fair!

How does it work?
You watch the videos, you play what is requested, film yourself and post it in the community. You get feedback from Lukas‘ and level up. There are 3 weekly calls where you can ask questions to Lukas or his team if you are stuck and get help to figure out the issues you have. Until now each member of the course had enough time in the sessions I have attended to ask all questions that they had. This is a great help.

There seem to be some 20-30 active community members at dec 2025 (overall there are over 900 people in the group but as this is lifetime access it is only natural that only a fraction is active). Comments from everyone are very supportive and I have the feeling that errors are no big deal at all - a save space to learn!
Several participants mentioned in the weekly calls mentioned that they have been members since more than a few years. This convinced me that I absolutely do not have to doubt the promised lifetime access to the community and the calls at all

My first personal session was with Jomar from Lukas‘ team. I told him which song I see as my personal goal and he asked what my practice routine is, what I already did to achieve this goal and what I could do in the future.
After the call he created a dedicated practice plan for me, linking all items to different levels of the videotutorial and he deconstructed the solo from that song in various parts where each part is covering a different aspect of the skills I need to achieve that goal.
The team is really putting in individual effort here. It was a very positive experience!

The course has a nice logical layout with dedicated pleasant teachers and gives very quickly structure to your learning. At it least it did and still does for me. My first online guitar course- and the only one for me. I've got all I have been looking for here. Suits me very well!

I have had a guitar in my hand for many years but never could get past intermediate. I could learn songs and even solos. While that does help with hand syncing and teaching various techniques that are used, it never gave me the ability to play freely or use those techniques at will. It didn't help me to write my own RIFF's. Also, being a weekend warrior didn't help. I have tried many courses, and they just teach like its learning a song. Here are the notes, play it. Start slow and increase speed. Seeing Lukas videos about give me 18 mins and I will fix your guitar technique, and the speed building exercises told me this course might be different. IT IS! It has everything from basic techniques to VERY advanced and lets you go at your own pace WITH support. The best part is it has you apply the lessons not just learn them. It cleans up your bad habits and takes you further. If you don't have bad habits, then you should get through those lessons and action items fast. (I realized I had more than I thought lol). You have to put in the work, that is all and it will work for you.

The community is excellent, and the support is top-notch. The learning path is clear and, most importantly, effective.
