Too much digital push. Little separation of types of carers. Early days, but unimpressed so far.

The information was clear, on point, well set out and accessible. It delivered essential information that I did not know and reminded to put into practice what I already knew but was not doing. Thank you.

It’s just good to speak and listen to others in similar situations.
It’s comforting to know that you are not alone and that maybe you can help/ empathise with others.

Until the latter part of 2022 i found mobilise to be the only organisation that could understand my needs as a carer with a disability but since the former part of 2023 I recognise that some of the staff have left that I once every few months used to confide in and due to the nature of my enquiries and support about carers conversations and adult social care needs assessments that I needed to talk about, I find it way too boundaried and there's an element of coldness that doesn't enable me to feel I can reach out. Some carers do not feel comfortable framing their circumstances on a Facebook group and I do not know where to turn. Shirley Islam was encouraging and supportive and now she's gone. If I could get the appropriate support from a local carers organisation, I wouldn't have the urge to reach out. I feel stuck now.

A great forum to share experiences and get advice from people going through similar to you. It makes you realise you are not alone in what you are going through. I found Mobilise at exactly the right time for me. I was struggling with caring and felt alone but Mobilise provides links to a wealth of information to help carers. The facebook group is another way to interact with carers in addition to the cuppas where you meet real carers and share advice and support each other. This is the most useful source of help I found for my caring journey.

I am a lone carer and keep the tips given on the website as they are really useful and have pointed me in the right direction several times.
I don’t have the time to engage more but with this group I can dip in and out and catch up when I can. Invaluable for isolated carers. If you want to engage more you can there’s no pressure. Thank you for all your hard work!

I have joined a weekly evening cuppa meeting and enjoy meeting up with other carers. Daytime cuppa meetings do not suit me as I am on full time duty looking after my mum.
I have found the weekly emails from James very helpful.

The help and advice that I have received from members and admin has been invaluable to me. I am only recently turned from being a day time carer into a 24/7 carer and I feel a lot better about my position having joined this community

Because of my wife's worsening mobility issues, we needed advice on what help is available for people with MND. Although I changed my car to enable my wife to attend hospital appointments, in the future I will need a WAV vehicle. We do not qualify for the Motability Scheme. Thanks for the advice.

I was invited to join a few weeks ago and I’ve just been amazed by the wealth of information, tutorials, chats and lots more to explore in the future. It’s looking like it’s going to be valuable tool along side my caring roll for my wife.

This is so necessary, I’ve been in “care”for many years as a caregiver, nurse and N.H.S.Ambulance Paramedic. I took early retirement to care for my wife when she was diagnosed with mitiple sclerosis.Despite many professional years in care, I wasn’t really prepared for this.Mobilise and our local care group were very, very helpful,l would not coped without them, many, thanks for all your help.Regards, Mike Barber.
