If you are a Braves fan……DO NOT…
If you are a Braves fan……DO NOT PURCHASE!!! There hasn’t been one game televised since the all star break. EVERY game is blacked out. I paid money to listen to the games in a 10 second delay from the actual radio broadcast. The bad part is…I paid for a year. Now it’s just a waste of money. It’s all a scam! It’s set up to MAKE you get a cable or dish subscription to see your team. I’m not sure who owns MLBTV. But it’s not MLB, I think it’s Bally sports.
RED sox Dogers game Friday, 8/25/23is a disgrace that MLB tv decided to…
It is a disgrace that MLB tv decided to allow Apple + stream games. I looked forward to Mookie Betts return to Fenway and the fans response which I now can't. Will think twice about a subscription to MLB tv next season.
Terrible in every way you can imagine
For one thing, one is the minimum star you can give. You can't give zero stars, so you have to assume if you are getting an average of one star, everyone hates you.
Two, the customer support is non-existent. If they respond to you. It's with an automated message telling you how valuable your input is. They never do anything.
Three. The software cuts in and out, it freezes all the time, and it's not my internet no. No because everything else works fine and my internet is great. Is MLB, they have no clue how to write software. And this makes it frustrating to watch a game because right in the middle of the game they will cut out and send you back to the very start for no reason.
Finally, the charge you for a full season but don't show you a full season because they force you to sign up with Apple or peacock or NBC or whoever to watch a game, but even when you sign up with them, you have to pay in order to get there games. I don't want to pay another provider to pay for something I already paid MLB for.
And the software just sometimes fails for no reason and you have to reinstall it. Or you can't watch a game. I will never ever ever sign with these people again.
I mean, there's more but what's the point? It's not like they care.
I never EVER leave reviews but MLBTV is…
I never EVER leave reviews but MLBTV is SO SO bad that you don't want to subscribe to this. Save yourself the headache and time. No matter where you live you will not be able to see your designated team due to "blackout restrictions" that don't relate to where you live. I live in Boston, follow the NYY and if they play, for example, the Angels or any other team I'll get a blackout notice. And, I'm not talking about a game that is being broadcasted on ESPN, FOX, national TV or Boston (which is understandably a blackout area due to the Red Sox -- although this is a streaming service but whatever). Each day I have to call customer service for help. They will give you a song and dance about checking the IP address. Then they will tell you it's your service provider. They will get it up and running for you today, but the problem comes back tomorrow. And good luck trying to get a refund. Once they have your money you cannot get it back. Trust me, don't get MLBTV. This is my final year of dealing with this nonsense. My rating is actually a ZERO.
Constantly logs out and fails to log in
It constantly logs me out and fails when I try to log back in. This app is junk and can't believe what they charge for it. What's sad is they try to blame compatability with your tv but still happens with firestick.
Miserable Product
Miserable Product. You're supposed to get it with MLB Extra Innings for free. You sign up, we did since Opening Day it "unlinks" us Constantly & then tells us we need to "Upgrade". We send messages and make numerous phone calls & No One Helps. MLB is one Greedy Scum bucket operation they want you to pay. It's a Scam! We are 19 Year Extra Innings Subscribers! Does MLB care? A Resounding NO!!!
They can improve by doing what they say…
They can improve by doing what they say they are going to do. I signed into my account to live stream a game and could not access the tv broadcast even though it was not a blackout game. Couldn't access the radio broadcast either. They list customer support availability times, but good luck with that! Tried every way available as listed and no response.
I live in Houston,Tx
I live in Houston,Tx. The only game I want to watch I can’t watch. The only game black out where I live is the Houston Astros. How is that possible ? I don’t get it. The website says stream ANY game that is out of market. Obviously not
PA resident cannot see NY games - MLB can't solve problem
I live in PA and should only have Phillies games blocked. For some reason, all New York baseball games are being blacked out and I am able to see Phillies games. I purchased MLB.TV so I could see the New York teams. I purchase the subscription through Apple. Unable to get support from MLB.TV, I contacted the BBB. The BBB did get someone from MLB.TV to attempt to correct my issue. In summary, after multiple attempts, MLB.TV was unable to correct this issue and they suggested I work with my internet provider to correct. My IP address points to Philadelphia, PA... so, it is not an internet provider issue. I told MLB.TV I wanted a refund and they said I would have to request a refund from Apple since the subscription was purchased through them. MLB.TV cannot maintain their own service and the support is horrible. I will never utilize their streaming service again will and will be informing all of my friends who are baseball fans that want to see out of market games.
The audio and video for NY Mets games…
The audio and video for NY Mets games are never in sync, including commercials. I emailed 3x already and all I get is more questions. I've tried deleting and redownload of the app. I tried pulling the plug on the TV as recommended. No one seems to care about the quality of the broadcast since they already have my money
Recent downturn
MLB.TV has always been glitchy but doable. Since the ASG of 2023, matters have taken a downturn. I can no longer view condensed games or recaps on my Android TV and customer service has yet to respond, nor have I seen any online comments about it. I'm holding out hope that complaints like mine will light a fire under them to do the right thing.
Update: Customer Support finally responded but the fix they recommend ruins the experience of watching Condensed or Recap Games because in order to watch them on an Android TV, one has to enable spoilers. Crazy, right?
The upshot is that I'm knocking another star off my review.
Fast forward a week or so and there's yet another problem with MLB.TV regardless of where viewed - computer or Android TV. One cannot watch games from the beginning, rather we're limited to watching Live. This is nonsense.
They're down to one star.
After a couple months, the site suddenly worked as advertised. MLB never offered an explanation.
Blackouts Galore
We live in the Boston market. In the past we were able to watch Most NY Yankees games. This year it seems like almost EVERY game is blacked out. This is completely ridiculous. I
Buyer BEWARE! MLB.TV may rip you off.
Took my money at the beginning of the season. Now the app doesn't work on my TV and they informed me that my TV is no longer supported...halfway through the season. Terrible customer service. They now want me to buy more equipment in order to use the service I have already paid for. And they refuse to refund my money.
I purchased this so I could watch MILB…
I purchased this so I could watch MILB games on TV and not just on my phone I had technical issues at the start of the season and when I called customer service they had no clue how MLBTV even works. They kept saying it was a problem with my TV. It was not. About 1 month into the season I could start watching games. My son plays and because he’s so far away, this is the only way I can watch him. Very frustrating never knowing if I’m going to get to watch.
This last week there has not been any games available. When I call customer service again to question why there is no access, they tell me they are having technical difficulties (FOR A WEEK) . Then they tell me I can watch on my phone. Sure ! I love holding my phone for a 2 1/2 hour game. That’s why I subscribed to MLB.TV, so I wouldn’t have to watch on a phone. Very disappointed in this subscription!
Screwing their customers
MLB TV has been selling games to other pay for view services, like Peacock, Apple, Bally etc. so, I pay MLB TV to watch games, then they sell the game to another service and deny me the ability to watch a game that I’ve paid for. I wish an ambitious attorney would craft a class action suit, as they are blacking out paying customers to get more money for same game…good for their pocket but absolutely screwing what their customers have contracted and paid for!
Terrible
The best app ever! Amazing content. Highly recommend it… Unless you live within five godamn states of a game.
I’ve had it for 2 days now the picture…
I’ve had it for 2 days now the picture most of the time is blurry keeps going in and out , I see more of the stupid spinning baseball in the middle of the screen than the game At this time it’s been sooo frustrating to watch, definitely not worth it !
MLB.TV is a Giant Ripoff
Let me start by saying that I live in Salem, Oregon, and the nearest baseball team (the Mariners) is 220 miles away. I am apparently subject to blackout for them, but don't really care because I don't follow them. I signed up to be able to watch Dodger games on my computer while I work or do other things. Last year (2022) I was able to watch nearly ALL of the Dodger games regardless of where they were playing.
This year?? For some reason, MLB.TV has me blacked out from every game. I have seen fewer than five games all season so far. I have called customer service half a dozen times. Each time I'm told that based on my location my being blacked out is a mistake. Can they fix it? Nope! They tell me that Tier 1 cannot do that (even though they did it last year) so they will take my number and Tier 2 will call me back within 24-48 hours. Nobody...ever...calls. Not once. I called back and asked for a supervisor. I'm told supervisors are not available and one will call me back within 24-48 hours Big surprise...nobody called. Ever.
To sum up: MLB.tv wants us to pay $120 to see our team...never. Then when we complain, their customer service is non-existent. Great business model. The only reason I gave these thieves one star is because zero stars was not an option.
Via chat
Via chat, I asked Kassandra when the Oak vs Cle game would be available in archives. I got responses that were no better than the virtual assistant.
