Terrible Service

Terrible service. My phone doesn't receive group text, or photos, Norman is post from photos to social media. This was a known problem with Samsung phones, NOT disclosed. By the time you figure out SORRY to late to cancel and get a refund. So now after hrs wasted on NO HELP, I also have to cancel back to other carrier with NO refund.... paid 1 yr in advance TOTALLY UNETHICAL

They had me prepay for an entire year…

They had me prepay for an entire year of service for $216.58. When I called them asked them why I kept getting scam calls, I couldn't understand what they were saying. It seems that their customer service representatives tried to confuse me with their heavy accents and confusing grammar. They didn't seem to care whether or not I got bombarded with scam calls. Then when I tried to cancel my service out of frustration, I asked for a refund for the remaining months for which I already prepaid. They laughed as though they themselves were the scammers and told me that it wasn't possible.

I tried for a month to get onto Mint…

I tried for a month to get onto Mint Mobile service because it seemed like such a great deal and I was only going to need it for 1.5 months as I was going overseas for two years and no American company was able to give me service for that long. All of Mint Mobile customer service are nonnative English speakers and some really struggle. The first time I tried, I discovered later that they got my email wrong and that was why I didn't receive the QR code. Everything takes them 2-4 hours to research, or send, or do anything but my experience was that that is just a standard answer even when they say they have escalated the matter. I supposedly talked to managers and they had no better results. Part of the problem was also that I had to keep getting a new account and pin number because they only lasted 7 days apparently. I finally was able to get far enough that my number was ported over but I still had no QR code so was out of phone service for 2 days. I had to barrow a phone to then call and get updates each morning. I finally called my old company to tell them I wanted to stay with them and called Mint back to let them know but kept watching my email for any emails from Mint. At 5 pm on the 2nd day Mint sent an email with the QR code so even though I had initiated a return to the old provider 2 hrs earlier, I thought I would try it. It worked! I then called my old provider right away to tell them to stop any transactions, I had phone service with Mint. I called Mint and told them I had activated the QR code and then spent the next hour setting everything else up that I needed to including auto payment. Mint sent me an email that my service was up and running. Two days later at 11am my Mint service was suddenly deactivated. Repeated calls to them assured me they would have it fixed in 2-4 hours. They had to research the problem. I called them on friend's phones, each time spending 1-2 hours, and it seemed that I started over with each person having to take time to read everything that had been recorded previously before they could do anything else. I discovered that they had no idea what happened to my phone number assured me they were researching the issue. I knew my former company went through AT&T and continued without service over the weekend (total of 5 days) until I could go to the AT&T store Monday morning. AT&T had retrieved the number and put it under my name in what appeared to be a business account. How it was that Mint was able to release it without my requesting a pin, no one knows. AT&T was very careful to make sure they were to release the number and get my approval before it was sent to Mint. Kudos for AT&T. Kudos for Sean T. at Patriot Mobile who was able to finally figure it all out and get me my number, a true Christmas miracle he said. I have my old service back. If I could give Mint 0 stars I would! I received an email from Mint 5 pm Saturday that my service with them had been terminated and thanking me for my business!

My Wife just called Mint Mobile about a…

My Wife just called Mint Mobile about a half hour ago (5:45 PST) to get help to activate the new sims card (phone call # 57 about this issue), they sent her, on the new phone she purchased from Mint Mobile (the phone cost us approximately $200.00) and within ten minutes, the person she was speaking with told her they would not be able to help her because "her account was locked?" Seriously? My wife and I are on "auto pay" and I told her if they are unable to help her get her new phone and sims card "up and running" by the time we get our next credit card statement, we will dispute the charge. My advice (considering I have a bachelor's degree in EET and 20 + years of experience as an Electronics Maintenance Technician would be for Mint Mobile managers/supervisors to offer technical training, to their staff, so they would be better able to help THEIR customers who are having technical issues with their phone. I really believe that, in the long run, by following this strategy, this would really benefit the entire Mint Mobile Company. Well, that's my "2 cents" worth. Good luck.
