Great scooters and helpful people

First of all the customer service at this company is amazing. I ordered a new scooter from them and it shipped out same day. I have had to call them a couple of times with questions, they answered right away and were super helpful. The scooter they sold me is rock solid, handles well, and is very fast. I would not hesitate to do business with this company again in the future.

Ive bought 2 scooters from minimotors

Ive bought 2 scooters from minimotors, the first one was a Victor Lux+ and the 2nd one is the Dualtron Thunder III. As the company ages and their scooters become more refined through iteration im very pleased with the quality my thunder III. recently had a battery go bad on me under warranty and they replaced it. Just know that these arent the kind of vehicles that you can just bring into a shop and have someone fix for you. you will be doing most if not all of the maintenance by yourself. bleeding brakes, changing batteries, repairing electronics. if you arent comfortable with that you either need to have the money to ship the entire scooter to San Francisco every time you have an issue, or ditch scootering as a hobby.

Dualtron POP the Flat Commuter

I had high hopes for this entry-level scooter, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations, especially considering the terrain in my area (Columbia, SC). While the 52V 14A configuration might be suitable for flatter regions, it's simply not adequate for hills.

Performance:

Flat Surfaces: On level ground, this scooter performs admirably. It accelerates well and maintains a decent speed.
Hills: This is where the scooter truly disappoints. Even minor inclines cause a significant drop in power. It struggles to maintain speed and feels underpowered compared to even some lower-priced scooters I've tested. I believe a dual-motor setup is necessary for anyone living in a hilly area.
Ride Quality and Comfort:

Deck Space: The deck is noticeably narrow, making for an uncomfortable and cramped riding experience, especially on longer rides.
Suspension: The shocks are practically non-existent, providing minimal shock absorption. Riding on anything but perfectly smooth pavement is jarring.
Braking: The brakes themselves are effective and provide good stopping power. However, the frame exhibits significant flex under braking, which is concerning and detracts from the feeling of safety and control.
Build Quality and Design:

Handlebars: The handlebars consistently loosen, even after multiple attempts to tighten the tension screw. This is a recurring issue and a significant annoyance.
Frame: As mentioned above, the frame flexes excessively under braking, indicating a weakness in its design or construction.
Aesthetics: I do appreciate the scooter's overall look and profile. It has a modern and appealing design.
Battery and Range:

Range and Charging: The advertised range of 18 miles is not achievable in real-world conditions, especially with any hills. The charging time is also quite long relative to the actual usable range. The "juice is not worth the squeeze" in this regard.
Packaging and Shipping:

Packaging: The packaging is inadequate and resulted in shipping damage to both boxes I received. The internal packing materials offer insufficient protection during transit.
Recommendations for Improvement:

Motor Upgrade: A 1000W single motor with a minimum of 20Ah is recommended for improved performance, especially on hills. Dual motors would be even better.
Frame Reinforcement: The frame needs to be significantly strengthened to eliminate the flex during braking.
Improved Suspension: A proper suspension system is essential for a comfortable ride. The current shocks are ineffective.
Handlebar Fix: The handlebar loosening issue needs to be addressed with a redesigned clamping mechanism or improved hardware.
Increased Battery Capacity/Improved Charging: A larger battery or faster charging technology is needed to improve the range-to-charging-time ratio.
Improved Packaging: More robust packaging is necessary to prevent shipping damage.
Overall:

While this scooter has some positive aspects, such as its aesthetics and performance on flat surfaces, the significant flaws in hill climbing ability, ride comfort, frame integrity, and handlebar stability make it difficult to recommend, especially for those living in hilly areas. The manufacturer needs to address these issues to create a truly competitive product.

Dualtron Thunder 2 stem snapped while riding, also had multiple defects which were never fixed. I only got the runaround for over a year!

I spent over $5000 on a Dualtron Thunder 2 + EREXX steering damper + EREXX stem clamp + fingerprint scanner + other accessories. My stem snapped while I was riding, as it has done for many other Dualtron owners too (I wish I researched common Dualtron issues BEFORE buying it because all these stem breakage issues are very well known and easy to find, and go back like +7yrs, only being fixed by a stem hinge redesign in 2024) My Thunder2 was defective from the beginning and I sent them over a dozen EXTREMELY DETAILED emails with pictures and video showing all the problems, and all I got was the runaround for over a year! The stem wobbled between 1" to 3" forward/backward with stem clamp fully tightened. Both wheels were severely off balance and/or out-of-round so they actually bounce enough to leave the ground when going over 40mph. The tires were both inflated to over 60psi from the factory when they are clearly marked as "45psi MAX". They never offered to have a local shop look at any of the defects/problems. They never offered to return the scooter to repair or replace it with one that worked correctly. They literally gave me the runaround for over 1yr without fixing ANYTHING that was wrong, and here are the best two parts:

1. After it was out of the 1yr warranty they finally said I need to pay hundreds of dollars to fix the defective parts myself!

2. I ended up buying the parts from them 2wks ago and paying hundreds of dollars (so I can sell this piece of garbage scooter) but they held the parts hostage until I removed a negative review I left on one of their YouTube videos!

If you want this stellar level of "quality" in a multi-thousand dollar scooter, and also want this amazing caliber of "service" from the company when you find out it has defective parts and dangerous issues, then you should definitely get a Dualtron...good luck! Check out all the other reviews here and any other sites and you'll see this isn't a 1-off event. It is standard for them.
