Fun classes for my grandson and myself…
Fun classes for my grandson and myself while learning all about music and movement etc . Teacher is amazing with everyone and very flexible for a catch up class if we have to miss a Tuesday we can go any morning of the week. My grandson loves the happy half an hour we spend there.

Thank you for your review and I’m sorry you didn’t want to continue with us. Each lesson for this age group comprises a variety of activities so that little ones can experience music in different ways; instrumental activities, dances with carers, lap plays, parachute activities, prop and puppet activities. Repetition is very important in early years education as it is only through repetition that we learn. With that in mind, each lesson includes a combination of material from previous weeks alongside new activities. Makeup classes are always available for classes cancelled due to teacher illness, and our online content provides an easy access to class activities in your own home, to work around busy schedules. 🐝💕🎶 Louise
Growing in confidence
MM at Funtopia Carrum Downs is wonderfully led by Kate. Our 2 year old granddaughter loves coming and every session she grows in confidence to participate! It’s such a fun, interactive way of learning for children and parents/carers!

Amazing preschool music program
Mini Maestros is amazing preschool music program. My daughter loves music and taking her to these classes has nurtured her natural musicality. She looks forward to her classes every week!

Great fun and excellent grounding in musical theory…
My older daughter did Mini Maestros with Haylee then Michelle from age 3 to 5 (some of this was pre recorded lessons through COVID). I cannot commend highly enough the excellent and thorough musical grounding that Mini Maestros gives children.
My older daughter started learning piano a few months after finishing the Mini Maestros program. She picked it up and has progressed very quickly and her piano teacher commented on what a great foundation she had. My younger daughter has now also been doing Mini Maestroes from 2-5 again with Michelle and I can similarly see what a great foundation she is getting in music. In addition the lessons are such fun for everyone! Mini Maestros has been so great for us, thank you very much.

Inexperienced teacher
Teacher claimed have a child centered approach but her whole teaching was didactic... focusing on delivering the lesson and not trained to integrate each child's interest. My child likes percussion and she refused to let him explore. The teachers should be hired with a background of working with children. Too bad.

Thank you for your review. Mini Maestros is a structured educational program with the focus on learning through play, not a free-play session. To achieve learning outcomes, such as those advocated by the Early Learning Framework, our trained teachers direct the activities and lead the children through the program.
It was a shame that you arrived late for your first class. It is difficult for a child (or even an adult) to walk into a new learning environment when the group is already in the middle of an activity. It is entirely expected that new students need time and space to explore the classroom surroundings in their first few lessons so that they can build familiarity with the learning space and develop confidence in the group setting. Our teachers recognise and allow for this within the structure of the classes. Had you stayed for longer than a few minutes of the lesson, your child would certainly have had the opportunity to play percussion instruments with the other children. Instrumental activities are a key feature of every one of our lessons.
Our teacher at Dingley is one of our most experienced and loved educators. As well as being training in Mini Maestros pedagogy and classroom methodology, she is a trained Suzuki teacher and has been teaching children’s individual and group lessons for many years. She is also a qualified speech pathologist with a particular interest in early intervention. She has a strong following and is the subject of many favourable reviews.
She did leave you a phone message to follow up and give some suggestions for how to help your child settle in his second and third trial lessons, but unfortunately she didn’t hear from you again. 🎶🐝💕 Mini Maestros

Over the past 18 months Remi has learnt so much. Cooperating with others, stepping up and responding individually, and the sheer joy of making music and movement together. We’re so grateful to Kate for her passion and skill and passing it along to our little ones.
