Reading Store
Zak at the Reading store was extremely helpful and put as at ease throughout our experience. He let us try as many scooters as we wanted, And we left with a very happy grandmother who’s acquired a new mobility scooter. STILL no response from Middletons!! How much longer is this going to go on?
The most appalling customer service ever, it's non-existent. We ordered our bed last November, one year on, we still cannot sleep in our bedroom because the wrong mattress is still waiting to be sorted. Having failed time and again to elicit any response by email or telephone, we sent a letter dated August 19th: we have heard nothing. My telephone calls received the response that they could not talk to me because I was not named on the sales invoice, they could only speak with my husband! When he spoke to them the manager was never available, always “in a meeting”. When he did manage to get through to a customer service person, the promised follow up phone calls or emails just never happened. One young man told me he would lose his job if he told me whether or not the mattress was on order for confidentiality reasons! I was paying half the cost of the bed!
This is absolutely disgraceful, it is hard to believe that any company would treat a customer so disgustingly. In addition this situation is causing considerable stress. With family due for Christmas we need to free up the guest bedroom, we need to be able to sleep in our own room on our own bed.
You removed my previous review in April because it looked as though Middletons responded.
History: bed due before Christmas but not delivered until January 13th. We only agreed to order from the salesman who came to us, on the promise it would be delivered to our new home before Christmas so that was a let- down. 2 mattresses expected, 1 medium Memory foam, 1 medium pocket sprung. They delivered 2 foam mattresses, 1 medium, 1 firm. It proved impossible to get any productive response from Middletons for 4 months until my Trust Pilot review obviously changed that. The next day my husband was informed that they had held a meeting and a medium pocket sprung mattress would be delivered and that by way of apology, we would not be charged the outstanding amount of the bill. In June 2 mattresses arrived, 1 foam 1 pocket sprung. The delivery man said we had to keep the previous 2 UNUSED mattresses! But the pocket sprung mattress was rock hard, certainly not medium. I had a very uncomfortable night, could hardly walk next day and was in pain for several days. We have been unable to get any help or response from Middletons about replacing this mattress; in desperation I wrote a letter dated August 19th. We have heard nothing, except for a phone call one day telling my husband he had not yet paid the balance! He explained the situation, was told it would be looked into : nothing yet again.
What do we have to do to get what we ordered from this company? Next step I suppose must be Trading Standards. We are very busy people, we do not have time for this nonsense, but it has to be sorted.
Meanwhile my advice to a potential customer is NOT to buy, but be VERY wary, insist on the delivery date being adhered to, make sure all family names buying the product are on the invoice/ contract, insist that the order requirements are checked, double checked (which I did) and triple checked because unbelievably someone does not check what has been ordered from this totally unreliable company.

Made an order, the staff and management team including Ricky the manager was efficient and helpful towards helping my mums needs. They went above and beyond to help her chose the right scooter for her. I would highly recommend them.

Kate at the Brierley Hill branch saw my wife and I today about a reclining raiser chair. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable and her attention to detail was amazing, a credit to Middletons in general. If more staff were like her I might enjoy shopping more.

Nottingham branch today
I visited the Nottingham branch today. Jo is a fantastic lady. She remembered me from two years ago. And remembered what I purchased last. She was extremely helpful. I have never had any problems with my lounge furniture or my bed. I returned back today to sort out a further order of two chairs for my conservatory. Jo made it so easy and she very very welcoming. We had a laugh too. I can't rate this company highly enough. Excellent furniture quality, and delivery came when expected with the last order.

I bought a new scooter at the beginning of October and ordered a set of new keys for my a few days later. The keys were delivered a 4 days later, unfortunately they were the wrong keys. I phoned up to get them replaced, I had to make 2 calls, spending over 45 minutes on the phone, at the end of the calls I could get no guarantee that I would get my keys. It is now two weeks later and I am still waiting for my keys.
While I stick to my original comments about the helpfulness of the sales staff, I hope I don’t have problems with my scooter because their customer services leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks Jo for helping my mum have such a positive experience of getting the right mobility scooter, allowing her to improve her confidence in getting out and about! Mum wasn’t sure if a mobility scooter was for her; she lacked confidence and the ability to drive let her doubt she could use a mobility scooter! We popped into Nottingham store to have a look and were greeted by Jo who was so calm, professional and knowledgable that mum felt able to chose the right scooter for her! Jo ensured that my mum could use it and we have the ability to put it in the car on case we want to go further afield! Thanks Jo your humour was a plus, would highly recommend you pop in to Middleton Nottingham! Arm chair that never worked & refusing to refund after my Fathers death
My late father purchased a £2k electric arm chair from Middletons a month before his death. When the chair arrived by courier (they don’t deliver their own product) it was set up wrong and the motor instantly blew rendering the chair useless. They then told him it would be weeks before they could send a replacement motor and get it fitted. The motor arrived, but sadly my dad went into hospital and died before it could be fixed. I contacted Middletons to organise a full refund for a product that has never worked only to be told that despite having the death certificate and an original copy of the will showing me as sole beneficiary and executor that in fact their policy was that they also needed proof of probate. Despite me informing them that a solicitor had told me that I do not need to apply for probate, Middletons have held fast that they will not refund the money unless I have it. It is worth saying that my even my fathers bank accounts and finance plans did not require probate to close them and refund me.
It is outrageous that they have taken £2k off a dying man without even providing him with a working product and are now refusing to refund the money. Do not buy from them, they are completely corrupt.

Scooter under warranty and waited for…
Scooter under warranty and waited for weeks for a replacement battery. Queue on phone for an hour at a time and still no result ! Absolute nightmare as can’t get about without it now. Messaged on messenger and no reply either - customer service is shocking when the item costs so much money! Not interested in after service by the look of it - very disappointed.
***UPDATE 9th Nov - still not sorted!!! Battery came 31st October and they told me not to contact them about it they would come and fit it and not heard a thing or seen an engineer since! Getting ridiculous! Customer service non existent once they’ve made the sale!

Swindon Middleton branch is a happy destination! Met John, who is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He showed us lots of mobility scooters which l could drive around a circuit in the showroom.
I even went to the outdoor circuit and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Nothing was too much trouble for John. He showed us how to dismantle and reassemble the scooter, operate the lights, everything we needed to know
I'm so looking forward to the scooter being delivered in a few days.

I went to middletons Burton on Trent, for a recliner bed the staff there Lynda and Rmoda they were so helpful with all the information about the products and took lots of time to sort out what was best for me and my needs and comfort and my pocket thank goodness. Fabulous store for your needs
Popped into our local Middleton store to get information on the rise and recline chair and we found Katie from the Radyr store so helpful in every way as this is all new to us. Recommended what would be best for us and so friendly, we went home armed with information and because of the extreme helpfulness and friendly manner we didn't hesitate going back to put the order in. Katie is extremely knowledgeable with all products.

Amazing customer service
I visited the Bristol outlet on Sunday with something in mind. Met Andrew who listened to my circumstances and suggested another 2 mobility scooters (one of which I preferred). Nothing was too much trouble and the external circuit really allowed me to test drive the different scooters. Amazing customer service, especially with a high value purchase.
