Scam. I'm paying almost 50 Euro per month for 1 Gbps broadband while the actual speed never ever gets above 500 Mbps measured with Cat 6 cable.
On top of that currently I don't have Internet for more than 30 hours already with no resolution time provided by the customer service which is almost impossible to reach.
No penalty fee, discount or promotion would stop me from switching to another provider as soon as they have coverage in my area!

Please avoid. Nowadays there are so many better options. When I moved to Portugal it was only Meo to choose from. My router has been broken before, and to get service I need to provide a Portuguese number for them to confirm what time they would arrive. On earlier occasions I have done so and used friends numbers, but the people working for Meo have been instructed to save the numbers and use it to aggressively try to sell and straight up harass them, even long after they have repeatedly been told to please not call again. ( if you don’t have a Portuguese number and value your friends, please don’t give out their numbers) My router is broken again, and to get a service I again need to provide a Portuguese number. You would think a company that works with telecommunications and internet ( what does inter stand for again..?) could call an international number, or use WhatsApp or even email me, but they are stuck in the 90s so that’s too difficult for them, so this time I decided to stop being their customer after being with them since 2007. Turns out to cancel my subscription they need me to send an old fashioned mail in the post, with a copy of my passport, and if they get it in time they will «only» charge me for two months ( I pay 57 euros each month) for a service they are not providing. I’ve read other reviews where they get the letter after due date, even when the postal service have documented it comes days earlier. Also looking at Meos replies to some of the many bad review gives a good indication what kind of company this is. They always reply «thank you for your feedback and you can always reach out on our social media’s. Please do trust me and stay away from them. The only good reviews they have are from the technicians, and they are great. That’s the only good thing Meo has going for them, so they should all get a massive raise

After a period of 2 weeks with no internet and 5 weeks with no TV. I told MEO I wanted to leave them.
I was told I had extended the contract after taking a MEO mobile sim.
Since then I have had solar panels fitted with a battery, the software will not work as our internet is not man enough to run it, I now have 5 boosters and it seems every time I add a boost MEO reduce the power to our system, today we were getting 5.45 mbs.
MEO profess 24 mbs.
I get nowhere when communicating with them.
I gave a 1 star, only because there were no minus stars.
Further to this statement, I have now written to MEO asking to discontinue with their services, I feel that strongly about their quality of supply and after sales services.

This is by far the worst service I have ever encountered
My internet got switched off without warning - a few times might I add. And everytime I have called the waiting period has averaged between 20 - 60minutes. 20 mins on a good day. When I eventually get attended the service is poor and some of the agents are so arrogant. It has been rather frustrating dealing with MEO. The only star the company deserves though goes to the customer retention department that calls back within a few hours to understand why you rated their service so low after the end of a call.

I wouldn’t even give 1 star. Just left Meo store in Lou1 Mar Shopping. Never met such rude surely arrogant rascists in my entire life. I was on a call to sales team at the time and even he apologised said that they were rude to him too. He was embarrassed and apologetic. They obviously hate English people. I will never set foot in there ever again. Poke your new contract. They don’t deserve my business.

I left Portugal and have been trying to close my account for a considerable time. Phone or email instructions are not acceptable, so I had to write a letter. Even though I sent this tracked and signed for, I am told that the letter was not received until 6 days after what I am told by Royal Mail. It then takes a further week to action. Only then, does my one month notice commence. This is a con to make more money from me. Worse still, every time I call I have to endure a sales pitch. They even tried to sell me a mobile contract, when they had not sent me a sim card, and I am already paying for one! They then babble on about if ever I come back to Portugal, I am entitled to preferential pricing. I AM NOT INTERESTED!!!

I went here personally to cancel, but they can't do it. They just make you call to a number and keep you in loops.
I'm still trying to cancel and still beeing charged for a place I don't live anymore.

Meo customer service is terrible and unreliable. I had a zero cap in my contract and last month I was charged way too much money as they are saying I used my data while I was abroad. I also use ee from UK with zero cap which means I don’t ever need to worry about data in my phone where ever I am in this world. Crazy they say that my cap in only for Portugal and not while I am abroad. My sim always stays in my phone from UK and Portugal and never had this issue before. Trying to explain this to customer service and they seems to don’t get it

I cancelled my contract with Meo in the shop but the said they had to ring me to confirm at a time of my convenience . That’s a joke . They promised to ring at 10am today and guess what they did not ,
I eventually rang them and after about 25 mins on the phone they promised to ring back in a max of 30 mins and guess what they did not . So here I am a later after the promised call , still further forward .
I have wasted a whole morning . This company is absolutely useless .
So I will make one more effort and go into the Meo store but after that I will just cancel my S/O and they can sue me .

Avoid MEO at All Costs – Absolutely Terrible Service
If I could give MEO **minus 5 stars, I would. **Stay far away from this company. They are unprofessional, disorganized, and treat customers with complete disrespect.
My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. They refused to honour a €100 offer, claiming it was only available in-store, despite me receiving it online. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, they basically called me a liar. Their customer service is either completely unresponsive or provides vague, incomplete answers at best.
They had put me on the wrong contract, and I've faced constant issues with their service, from technical problems to price increases without prior notice—none of which were stated in the contract.
When I tried to cancel, they made it as difficult as humanly possible, then had the audacity to demand an extra payment after I had returned all equipment and settled everything.
I have now filed a legal complaint against them. The way I was treated felt discriminatory and deeply unfair. It’s a shame that such a company is allowed to operate in Portugal—a complete embarrassment to the country.
I have no doubt they will respond with a copy-and-paste reply saying contact us to resolve the issue, which they won't.

If there is ever a company run by terrorists, then MEO is that company. They literally steal money from everyone. I strongly advise against using their services if you want to live a peaceful life in Portugal. When you contact their customer service or call them, they refuse to cancel subscriptions that were activated without your permission. In my case, they only agreed to cancel these subscriptions after I informed them that I would contact my lawyer. For this reason, I urge you to avoid using MEO.

Just the worst company in Portugal! They are stealing customers’ money.
I had a pay-as-you-go 5G internet plan with no contract. I stopped using it, and even when I had no service, they kept sending me bills. Now they’re harassing me to pay an outstanding balance for a service they didn’t even provide. It’s insane! I think this might be illegal. I have no idea what to do.
Just an update. It’s getting even crazier. Now they’ve hired a law firm and are demanding that I pay for a service so the lawyers can take money they don’t deserve. This is truly an epic display of unjust behavior. I’m currently sitting in their office writing this update.

They are not reliable at all.
We left Portugal, delivered all equipments. Paid all invoices on app. NOTHING WAS LEFT. BUT THEY REQUESTED FOR ANOTHER 73 EUROS. IT TOOK 3 MONTHS TO SEND ME AN IBAN TO TRANSFER THE AMOUNT.
THEY SAID SEND THE PROOF FOR THEIR E-MAIL AND THEY TOLD ME IF I DO NOT SEND THE PROOF ONLY TO THE GIVEN E-MAIL , THEY WONT ACCEPT THE PAYMENT. I SENT THEM BUT THE GIVEN E-MAIL IS REJECTING MY E-MAIL. UNFORTUNATELY I AM NOT IN PORTUGAL TO GO DIRECTLY TO THEIR OFFICE.

The two technicians that came were great, professional and friendly. The hassle before that was a pain! Meo maybe should change how they communicate between customer and technician, as it was cancelled a couple of times, and no reason was given, they say they ring you but do not give you more than two rings to answer, which is quite tricky if you are an older person or infirm. Change it to when you order MEO, connect with a technician, and that is all that is needed. Simple, and it would stop you from getting bad reviews. nes pa :)

Worst customer service ever!
I have been with MEO for over 10years and had move houses before.
So when I was moving again and went to the MEO Store in Cascais and told them that I was moving but I did not know the exact date and that I wanted a contract for my new house they said sure, here is your new contract (for the new house: electricity, telecom, internet, TV) just cancel your old contract when you move out of your old house and bring us the equipment to the store.
So a about a week later (today) the technician came to my new house and connected the cables to a new router and tv set top box.
All good sofar, but when I came back to my „old“ house in which I am still living in, the router was offline. I called MEO customer service and after telling my story to 4 people in 1 hour over and over again I got finally told that it is all my fault because I let the technician into the new house. Really wanting to find a quick solution and not getting into a discussion with a stranger I asked what could be done quickly about it. The lady told me to make a new contract (for 24 months/69 Euros/month) for my old house (in which I will probably stay just another month) and that a technician would come by to connect me in 3 days at the earliest. When I suggested that there is no need for a technician because everything (the router, cables etc.) is still in the same place as it was before and they just need to switch it on remotely and that having to pay for a contract for 24 months and only using it for a month is a bit steep she offered no help or solution.
Luckly for me (at least until now) MEO energy seems to have gotten it right. The lights are still on. Both in my old and my new house.
And hey MEO reply (below) Reading my post you would have know that I called customer support allready but you choose to copy and paste a totaly senseless answer. Just goes to show how shitty your customer support really is!
UPDATE:
Today (after waiting 5 days) I got a call from MEOs internal review. I got blamed again, they claimed that this was totally normal behavior even though my “new” contract said nothing about this (I checked) and no solution was offered.

⭐ 1 Star: Worst Customer Experience Ever
I had an extremely frustrating experience with MEO when trying to cancel my internet and TV contract. It was practically impossible to get proper assistance. Every call involved waiting over 45 minutes, only to hear the same unhelpful information repeated by different agents.
When I went to return the router and accessories at a MEO store, they refused to accept them. Despite this absurd refusal, I left the equipment there in front of several witnesses.
It’s clear that MEO's goal is to block customers from cancelling contracts by making the process as painful as possible. This is completely unacceptable for any service provider.
If you value your time and sanity, avoid MEO at all costs.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the lack of professionalism and support we have received regarding the ongoing issue with our system. The internet system has been malfunctioning for the past three weeks, and despite numerous attempts to contact MEO team for assistance, the problem remains unresolved.
We have repeatedly requested support, yet no one has appeared to address the situation. It is clear that the issue cannot be fixed remotely, and therefore, we have been continuously requesting that MEO send a real technical expert to our restaurant in order to fix the Wi-Fi connection. Unfortunately, we have still not received any assistance.
The lack of timely response and effective support is extremely frustrating and not in line with the level of service that we expect.
